[8.0] "This was awesome and pretty underrated in my opinion. Kenny is a high flyer compared to Codys more grounded style and the two were able to work pretty good together. Cody and Brandi both working as heels was fun to watch as well as the counters and the leg targeting from Cody. The Bucks came out and accidentally costed Kenny the match."

[8.0] "I thought this was a great match. There were some great moments, like Kenny Omega giving a dropkick to the guy in the beat costume, giving a V-Trigger to Brandi Rhodes through the table, and some of Cody's expressions were great. I especially enjoyed him insulting the fans to their face and even taking one of their drinks and spitting it out. That is classic heel behavior right out of the territory days. I think what hurt this match the most was how long it was, it didn't need to go 37 minutes. Now I will say that I've heard that there was stalling in the match, which is not exactly true. Stalling would suggest that Cody took a powder outside just to walk around. It was really just Cody taking his time to set up some spots, usually the tables that were outside the ring. I think if they shaved 5-10 minutes of the match, it would have been a little more fast paced and people would have liked it more. That being said, I'm not going to discount the effort put forth by both men. Yeah, the finish with the Young Bucks wasn't ideal, but it did add to the story between the Elite. ****"

[8.0] "This was a bit longer than it needed to be, but this still ruled. Cody uses the great atmosphere that they had in this match, and he comes off as a complete asshole due to this. He got Brandi involved in this, he was talking shit to the crowd for a lot of this which was great, but him spitting on Kenny, and that fan in the crowd was probably the highlight of it all. Kenny's comeback was alright, but at least he did a good job of selling the injuries that he had suffered during the match. The finishing stretch with the interferences felt like it lasted forever, and of course the most predictable thing ended up happening, but otherwise this was great..****"

[7.0] "Kenny vs. Cody was the match the whole Civil War story had been leading up to and this didn't feel like a satisfying culmination. It was an obvious Cody style match with tons of interference and cheating, which I get as Cody was a despicable heel, but I thought it went way overboard. There were also a few miscues and the chemistry wasn't as good as I hoped it'd be. Cody is better these days, but here you can definitely see the 3 star general shining through. Still not a bad wrestling match by any means and there was some good storytelling, just disappointing compared to what it could've been. ***1/4"

[7.0] "Good match between Rhodes and Omega here which was very clearly something well worked with the heel having good heat and the babyface having the expected support from an electric crowd, the action is cool and very clean, the atmosphere is fantastic and the build-up to this match was flawless, that said it just didn't live up to the expectations and that's not a shame to say that even being a fan of these two great wrestlers. The chemistry was there, I'm not even going to try to make you believe that what was going on in the ring was bad, it's simply the length that's the problem here, take away twenty minutes, condense the big spots and you may have the match of the year. But considering all the hype it had around it, seeing a match dragged on for so long without offering anything really inspiring for it to be justified I admit I was a bit disappointed, especially since I had huge expectations for this match that I had never seen. The crowd was awesome with some "HOLY SHIT" chants even before the bell rang, the content was pretty good in the ring but something didn't click overall for me to put a higher rating."

[8.0] "Not used to seeing Kenny as a pure babyface, he usually does at least SOME heelish stuff even as a face. Interesting match, this is very much a Cody WWE-type match over the fast paced NJPW matches of Kenny. Commentary focused heavily on the soap opera involving Kenny, Cody, Brandi, and Ibushi (my favorite character work of Cody's was during this time, he was so creepy stalking Ibushi and taunting Kenny, and really pushing boundaries in some of his actions). Highlights include Kenny beheading Cody's new bear, Brandi v-triggered into a table (the crowd was really over her meddling by that point and went nuts), and of course the Bucks fucking up."

But even just the action itself never seemed to hit that explosive high gear Omega is praised so much for. This just never went anywhere worth watching. There's a reason no one talks about this one."

[8.0] "This ruled. The atmosphere was amazing & Cody was on absolute fire - EASILY the better performer in this match. His performance was terrific; great facial expressions, awesome storytelling w/ his overall body language, loved him talking shit to the crowd & spitting beer at them, that Shattered Dreams tease was AWESOME, his work on top in general ruled.. So much good stuff! I thought Kenny's performance fighting from underneath was very dull, but Cody looked/wrestled like an absolute star. Really good match, would've been even better had Kenny brought it like Cody did. ***3/4"

[7.0] "I'd go 7. 5/10 for this. Considering the hype it was a bit underwhelming. It was 37+ minutes and it felt like there was quite a bit of stalling. The crowd brought this match to a new level. The consistent interference made sense storywise, but in the match it could've been handled better as it happened so many times it was laughable as to why the ref didn't do anything. I was also a bit disappointed due to the fact that i feel like these two could put on a way better match than this."

[4.0] "What a flop. Considering everything going into this match, at a landmark event in ROH history (due to the hype for this match, this feud, this storyline), what a flop. As Hank Scorpio points out, this match was some thirty-seven minutes. That's about 20 minutes too long for Cody. Compare his match with Ibushi at WK12: fifteen minutes. And that's probably his career best singles match to date. Cody is not a marathon, workrate wrestler. That's not his forte. Nothwithstanding, he's one of the best in the world. He ticks ever other box. But trying to get him to wrestle overly long epics isn't going to work. This match was a slog. Hopefully the rematch will be only half as long."

Some parts of the match were really good, i agree, but overall, i wouldn't call this a great match. Nevertheless, i want to give some credit for brandi who fell through the table here. Looking at the finish, the BC story may not end soon."
