Wouldn't feel out of place about 30 years prior, a lovely slice of old school. |

The story was aided by tremendous pacing, as the match started off slow with Tana putting in some great legwork and kept building and building, leading to a magnificent closing stretch. A great contest and a testament to how far Juice has come. ****1/2 |

Tanahashi was a bit heelish and aggressive but he and juice told really great story. Tana first of all targeted juice's leg as he always does and juice's selling was good. First half was pretty slow but match was well-built. The second half got more dramatic with a lot of back and forth action from both. The nearfalls were definitely great which popped the crowd. I love juice did the high fly flow. Tanahashi proved he is GOAT and his work is phenomenal. And juice despite losing had another strong performance and earned his mentor's respect. Just a fantastic main event. |

There was some storytelling here, with Tanahashi not accepting a handshake or any courtesy as he worked a vicious and aggressive style to win, but I didn't see it as some hard-fought victory. |

The classic "student vs master" match with Tanahashi trying to prove to Juice that he was still on top, and the latter needing a big win to solidify his spot on the roster, ****1/4. |
