[4.0] "Oh boy did I really not like the beginning of this match where Cena just destroys almost everyone in the match with one AA after another, where every wrestler looks like the dumbest fuck to ever live as they run directly into that move on after another despite taking zero damage, you'd have to assume every person here is literally retarded to do that. When you've just seen 3 different people run straight into the same move while you wait to run into them for the same, I'm sorry, that just makes everyone here besides Cena look like they're severely mentally handicapped and obviously not even remotely a threat to him. Absolute shit tier booking there on a wild level.Oh don't forget this Shane McMahon's era of fucking terror so of course he's got to be involved and puff up his chest like a fourteen year old couldn't knock his ass out. I know I'm shitting all over this match but it's only because it's otherwise pretty good but holy shit the booking here is DOG FUCKING SHIT and everyone besides Cena looks like a complete buffoon. If someone with something resembling a brain had produced this match it would be pretty fucking great instead of a few nice spots and tons of incredibly stupid psychology, like this actually might have the worst psychology of almost any match I've ever seen. Yeah, actually, FUCK this match. **"

Anyway, he's there.. AA's everyone but Styles to start the match, then we get a little Styles/Cena match, then more chaos will all 6 jumping Cena.. its typical WWE multi man chaos, its fun but also mostly forgettable.. Shane is there to interject with Sami and Kevin and predictably, AJ wins in the usual surprising way."

Everyone got their spots in, it was a very high energy match. It advanced several storylines at once: Styles retaining to face Nakamura, Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn, John Cena desperately looking for an opponent for WrestleMania, etc.. I loved what they did here."

[7.0] "This was a fun rewatch after 7 whole years! The opening sequence with Cena hitting AAs to absolutely everyone except AJ is a memorable spot from this match. The match has many fun spots and it also reminded me how good Baron Corbin was during his Lone Wolf days. Still this didn't quite feel like a six-pack/sixway match. This a formula we have seen from WWE time and time again were everybody except two gets thrown out of the ring and it's basically a one on one match until another guy comes in. With the talent in this match, I wish they would have done more with everybody involved. Also there was a lot of focus on the then ongoing storyline between Shane McMahon, Zayn and Owens which but a break on the match a couple of times."

[8.0] "[4.0*] It was really fun. It started with John Cena hitting an AA on everyone, AJ Styles doing everything he could to not lose the title, some great moments from Corbin, and the moral winner of the match, Dolph Ziggler, and then Shane McMahon being a complete jerk. Because, like, okay, he was the GM, fine, he's the big shot, but him interfering in the match shows what a terrible professional he is. Kevin Owens accidentally hits him with a superkick, and then Shane prevents him from becoming champion, and shortly after, he also stops Sami Zayn from becoming champion just to mess with both of them. Overall, it was a really fun match to watch with friends."
Bren0 wrote on 02.02.2024:
[7.0] "[3.75*] This match was a lot of fun, it started with an AA sequence from Cena and the only one who was smart and didn't attack Cena was Styles, showing how the matches between them made Styles know Cena. the match focused heavily on the rivalry between Sami and Owens with a lot of interference from Shane Mcmahon. The final action was cool but the match could have been better."

"Damn this was a throwback to when I first got really into watching wrestling. A fun match that built into a mid WrestleMania feud and a momentum killing heel turn. What might have been if Nakamura had won the title. Anyway, Fastlane of all shows did not deserve this sort of match. Starts with 4 AAs from Cena, and doesn't let up from there. That Ziggler DDT into an Owens Frog Splash was fantastic. Great Match 8/10"

There were fun spots throughout with the AA through the announcers table to AJ being a big highlight. The stuff with Kevin, Sami, and Shane was fine. ****"

[8.0] "By WWE standards, this was a great car-crash of a championship match between six of the most noteworthy names of the roster at that time and all had their time to shine bright at the best where it led to an indefinite pick for the MVP of this match. Everyone brought their A game and gave their optimum effort here to entertain us with an engaging match. Shane involving baffled at that time but after seeing it now, it made sense according to the story he carried alongside Owens & Zayn. Styles winning made sense to complete the quest of WWE's style of Styles vs. Nakamura. 4.25 out of 5 stars!"

[9.0] "Awesome six-pack challenge between all these great performers for the surprise of absolutely no one I think as it couldn't be any other way with wrestlers of this quality placed in this context, I was excited to see a twenty-minute spotfest with these six guys around the WWE Championship and in the main event on top of that, and I was not disappointed at all. In fact I'd seen this match twice before rewatching it today and each time I enjoyed it more, it's really the kind of action-packed main event with star-power that we used to see during the Attitude Era and the PG era, so to see it here was something so refreshing at this point. WWE can offer us crappy booking but when they book things right, they do it really well and this was a great spectacle made in WWE. All the wrestlers were excellent, we saw a lot of great spots, the pace was great, there were also finishers as well as nearfalls, the finish came a bit out of nowhere but overall this was so damn great."

[4.0] "It's the usual deal of two wrestlers going at it while everyone else takes a nap until it's time to break up a pinfall. You would think a six man match ought to be out of control and chaotic but they are always booked in the same boring fashion nowadays."

[7.0] "This started out so promising. Cena hits AAs on everyone but Styles to give us some Cena vs. Styles one more time. Then we have everyone eventually swarm Cena. Then after a while we get Styles getting AA'ed through the announcers table to leave us to believe we're going to have a new champ. Then we get some great Owens vs. Zayn stuff. And then the wheels start to come off the match as Shane McMahon gets involved. Then we have Baron Corbin's existence (why'd they allow him in this match? ). Cena no-sells a superkick from Ziggler and hits him with an AA as if the superkick were merely a fly that got in his way. Then Styles comes out of nowhere with a phenomenal forearm and suddenly wins the match. It's like a Jekyll and Hyde match: there the good part and the bad part. There's a lot to love about this match but also a lot to hate. What the hell. ***3/4"

Some negative stuff also happened, at times felt that whole 1v1 wrestling with others selling outside was getting boring but it didn? t take away too much. ***1/2"

[7.0] "Very enjoyable, if typical, WWE multi man match. There were some interesting stories and dynamics going into this one, as each man had a different motive or goal. The contest itslef was pretty fast paced and because of the number of people involved there was constantly something happening. My one gripe was that inspite of that, there were not any moments that truly stood out, perhaps with the exception of some intriguing interactions between Sami, Kevin and Shane. Nevertheless, the match was still very fun. ***3/4"

[7.0] "Every man got their moment to shine, whether that is necessary is beyond the point. Accompanying promo was first class and built up the match to heights that the competitors sadly couldn't reach but that's more down to the awkward road that SDLive has gone down this year since WM33 and the post-script known as the Superstar Shake-Up. The promo makes you believe that this is the culmination of 6 different roads in an 11 month journey to find out who is the superior wrestler on the blue brand all with an equal chance at reaching the quote-unquote "main event" of Wrestlemania, in reality it is 3 stories and then Ziggler and Corbin thrown in for their adeptness in multi man matches. The match itself starts very sudden then lulls significantly, despite numerous spots from each competitor that look pretty cool, especially Corbin's Deep 6ix, before finally turning up a notch in the last 5 minutes or so with the interference of Shane and the finisher spot at the end. With all that being said the match does serve its purpose in setting out the Sami/KO/Shane feud, the AJ/Nakamura feud and the desperate for a WM road Cena storyline. Post-match imagery of a despondent Cena sitting in the corner as AJ holds up the title with the WM sign in the background is chilling, almost eerily similar to Cena/Rock I with Cena sitting on the ramp in shock and frustrated. That followed with Cena turning the camera away from him inadvertently towards AJ symbolic perhaps of a passing of the torch somewhat adds several layers to the match in terms of storytelling that bring the rating up. A good match in terms of storytelling even if it wasn't at a similarly high level in terms of in-ring action."

We got desperate Cena, Styles trying to survive, as well as Zayn/KO/Shane which was done very well. That led to some great nearfalls. Just an overall super fun match, better than the Men's Chamber ****1/2"

Mehhhh. It had some solid stuff in it - good looking offense & bumping by AJ, but as a complete package of a wrestling match I was bored to death by it. *"

Cena in particular was just had a ludicrous performance in just dominating everyone from literally the bell until the final minute. Shane being involved was really unnecessary though, ****1/2."
arrancar wrote on 13.03.2018:
[5.0] "Pretty standard WWE 'big' match. Totally overkill with finishing moves, finishing moves teases, and near falls. Because it's a multi-man match it also suffers from having people lying down outside the ring just waiting to run back in to hit their specific spot. Rinse and repeat for 20 minutes. I hated the start with Cena hitting 4 AA's. It felt so unrealistic given how he never ever hits the AA that early, let alone 4. It was all done just to cheaply set-up an AJ vs Cena standoff moment. All 4 AA victims were back on their feet only a few minutes later, which felt odd when compared to AJ taking an AA through a table and being sidelined for about 10 minutes. Sure, in kayfabe the table adds power, but it felt like such a forced comeback for AJ to jump back in after most people were already down and then hit his Phenomenal Forearm for the win. The Shane interference was also very annoying. That storyline never interested me, and I hated to see him then ruin the attempted pins by Zayn and Owens. Being involved in a storyline is bad enough, but I certainly don't want the McMahons involved in a match in any form. I did at least enjoy the match from a cheap action standpoint. Corbin hit a lot of great moves to highlight his immense size and power, and I enjoyed the exchanges between Zayn and Owens. Even Ziggler got a few cool spots and near falls. AJ was all around solid as usual. Cena's only appeal was hitting a dozen AAs and his usual spots, which was all really bland because it's the same stuff decade after decade. Mediocre match, but fun as a pure spotfest. **3/4"

Hope we will see a triple threat between Shane, Sami and Kevin on Wrestlemania. John Cena`s disappointment in the end was very emotional moment. And gladly AJ will face Shinsuke at WM."
