Jerry Lawler & Randy Savage vs. King Kong Bundy & Rick Rude

Savage and Rude in the these three weeks are so good from having a great singles, this match, and almost as great but, still MOTYC level no tag the following week."

[10.0] "Now here's a really interesting collection of guys... a continuation of the Lawler/Bundy feud, with Savage as an unlikely ally on the side of Lawler to combat Jimmy Hart's men. Savage is in truly peak form here, unstoppable energy incarnate, so fast and unpredictable, just a marvel to behold. He and Lawler make a great team and the crowd is insane for them as they get the betters of the heels in all the early exchanges, even with Bundy's massive size it takes them awhile to get their foot in for any meaningful offense. It's a classic tag formula, the heels control until the hot tag and then things go mental in the best way. They even get 20 full minutes to work in this one and they really make the most of it until things go too off the rails and the match ends in a DQ, no surprise there but even so this match was a real pleasure to watch."

[6.0] "This match was okay. Seeing the physiques in this match along with Jerry Lawler made him look incredibly small. He seemed out of place here but the fans are always going to love him in Memphis. This was more just interesting to me to see all of these guys just a short time before their national break."

Rude and Bundy are a great heel duo at this point and Savage and Lawler teaming together is just madness considering the bad blood between the two. Just manic crowd heat from the Memphis crowd.
