2325.07.2024rinyald8.0It seems like Copeland wanted to prove that he can hang with the talent pool in AEW, and the go to star to prove that is Pentagon Jr as we saw with CM Punks run, however Copeland out performs Punk against Penta. It was really nice to see this not be fully one sided, as Pentagon hasnt been shown as much respect as a singles star as I think he deserves. The match tells a good story with the young guy trying to out wrestle the veteran, but the vet showing he can still keep up. The best part is theres always the impression that they respect each others ability and never underestimate the other. Copeland did a lot of really cool moves that weve never seen to keep up with Penta. Once Pentagon starts to get the upper hand again, Copelands veteran skill kicks in to end the match with a spear off of a springboard from Pentagon.

Copeland retaining was completely expected, but that didn't really take away from my enjoyment of this. I'm just glad I get to see a match like this in the first place, and I think it's the possibility of matches like this that made Copeland come here in the first place.

Penta was also impressive here, and he has this unique ability to match the speed of his opponent. I love Adam just whipping out new moves every match; he hit a slick head scissors here.
