Allie Katch vs. Mance Warner

[4.0] "The fundamental problem with a match like this is that it's twenty-three minutes of a man brutally beating a woman, with no comeuppance at the end. If it had been shorter and zippier, with less time spent trying to soak the crowd for heat toward the villain, or maybe if Allie Katch was just better at being a babyface in peril or better at making her hope spots feel like they have genuine hope, it'd probably rate higher... but there's still the issue at the core, which is that it's a match where the bad guy stabs a woman in the head and then pretty much gets away with it."

[7.0] "Despite the anticlimactic ending I really enjoyed this. I think it would've been fine for Mancer to get a decisive win here but I like how they're portraying him, as a complete psycho who's willing to do anything to get what he wants."

[6.0] "A match that moved the story along another step towards the eventual final meeting. Mance could have benefitted from a win here, while Allie wouldn't have suffered, just to increase the jeopardy for Bussy/SGC in this story. The bullrope was a little clunky in the early going, but the hardcore spots were good, with a nice visual of the skewers in Mance's head."

[6.0] "A conflicting match as I was interested in it on paper and it was pretty brutal at points but doing a non-finish so soon after just doing one with Effy/Mance while also still pushing that there are no DQs in GCW doesnt really make a lot of sense. Mance hasnt been able to get a notable win since this heel turn and I felt he could have here to help solidify him a bit more while also building more toward he and Effy in Philly presumably."

[6.0] "I was worried that this match was going to be a slog or wouldn't land as well as it did. Mancer's current character is the most intresting in the company and it feels like they are preparing for him to become the top heel. The bullrope stipulatiuon felt unnecessary and actually kept the wrestlers from working as smoothly, especially Katch that noticeably got tripped up a couple times during the beginning and did the stupid thing where she pulled the rope to drag Mancer instead of walking up to him. The hardcore spots all worked for me up until the scissors in this and felt earned due to them being in a blood feud that can't be settled cleanly. Once the scissors and Effy came out, I think that the match lost some steam. I understand the storyline purpose of the no-contest, but Katch would have been fine getting pinned and then Effy and her mother getting involved in the post-match. Still a good main event with stakes and drama even though it isn't that strong as a match itself. ***"
