[8.0] "A very good match. The one thing that I remember about this match is Big Bill catching Darby Allin doing a dive through the ropes and turning it into a Black Hole Slam."
[7.0] "This was a very good match. Sting's run in AEW was coming to an end and he was set to have his retirement match with Darby Allin against the Young Bucks at Revolution. Before that however, Sting and Darby would get a chance to win the AEW Tag Team Championship on Dynamite. Being a Tornado Tag match, this basically threw out the rule book and weapons were in effect. On top of that, we got some brawling into the crowd. That included a dive high up from Sting, because despite being a 60 something year old man, he's crazy enough to do this. There was a great moment where Darby went for a dive and Big Bill caught him for a spinning slam on the floor, which looked great. There was another great moment near the finish where Ricky Starks was going for a spear on Sting, but you could see on his face that he was hesitating, showing the respect he had for Sting. Sting kicked out of the spear and countered a second one into the Scorpion Death Drop to win the titles. This would be Sting's last match on Dynamite and it was a fun one. I believe this would also be Starks last big match in AEW, as he would be hurt not long after this and was taken off of television for a long period of time. ***3/4"
[7.0] "[3.5*] Man, this match was so much fun. And the best part is that it was actually pretty damn well worked too. The Man of the Match in my opinion was Big Bill, oh God, he looked like a beast. He did a Big Boss Slam after a suicide dive from Darby and this was honestly the best spot of the year in AEW."
[8.0] "This rating could be done in two words: STING RULES. Amazing to watch the Icon winning a title in AEW and with 64 years old, truly impressive, and the shocking part is that he looks great, I mean, for his age it's unbelievable, there's a lot of guys that completely ruin tag matches for being washed, and Sting is making a lot of bangers recently. This was fantastic to watch, a lot of crazy spots and an insane ending, with those face expressions and second thoughts by Ricky, really special, everyone involved was awesome here, including the Young Bucks with that insanely good post-match angle, this one was perfectly done - {***3/4}"
"Had it 8.4 for this match. The story is getting those tag titles on Sting & Darby to up the stakes for the already-anticipated retirement match with the Bucks, but the development of our beloved Ricky Starks was also at play without being the main issue. Ricky hesitating to end Sting's career could lead to some issues with him and Bill, and I'm definitely here for it. Not sure why Ricky had to go heel right as he was taking off, but he's done it well, and now I'm with him wherever he goes. Bucks with bloody white suits was great. At the end of this run, I'm wondering how we keep Darby out of the main event scene for a while. The Sting association has been so natural and transcendent at times. Their tag matches have been so wonderfully chaotic, highlighted by these unreal risks Sting takes at times to send the match into the next stratosphere."
[7.0] "Fun match and it's nice to give Sting a title run in AEW on his way out of the business. Starks and Big Bill were great heels in this match to get Sting and Darby sympathy. Not the best technical match but one you can definitely enjoy as a spotfest."
[8.0] "Another fun tag match. Great to see this final run from sting just sucks that he is going to be a transitional champion to the Young Bucks of all people. Big Bill & Starks really shined in this match and made it a fun main event tag for Sting."
[8.0] "A really fun main event for the show here. I was pretty sure Allin & Sting were winning the belts going into this, but I was still glad to see it regardless. I'm a little unsure as to whether or not they'll drop the titles at Revolution or not, but I think this was a great way to give Sting a title run in AEW before retiring."
[6.0] "As a match, this isnt anything exceptional. Its the fun Sting & Darby tag weve seen 20-30 times now and, while theres certainly nothing wrong with that, its not breaking the mold. When wrestling is at its best though, its about moments, and thats what this match is all about and why it becomes completely must-see. Stings AEW run has been such a joy. To see one of my childhood favourites (I was Surfer Sting for Halloween in 1992) get shown the immense amount of respect AEW has provided warms my heart. This is his crowning achievement. Realistically, this title win should have happened a year ago in my books (thank goodness were getting the Bucks match) but there is something about it being at the end that does make it a little bit sweeter. Winning the tag titles with his protege, with his kids in the front row - great stuff. The match itself has the typical Sting in 2024 bag of tricks with the balcony dive. The Darby/Bill interactions are amazing and the Bossman Slam on the floor out of the tope is an absolute all-timer spot. We need a Darby/Bill singles match ASAP. I feel bad for Ricky and Bill because their title run probably could have had a lot of juice to it and Ricky has been in a weird holding state after the Punk feud fell apart but the title change needed to happen. The Ricky/Sting close was nice though and it was probably super cool for him to put over the legend. The post-match with the Bucks was amazing. I have no idea if the blood was planned (didnt seem like it, and Sting caught that full-on kick to the face) but what a visual. Thats a hard sell for a PPV match, baby. This is where ratings get weird. As a match, this gets a 6 (still very good! ) but this whole package is must-see TV."
[8.0] "This just might be my favorite Sting return match this was amazing. They started off hot with some great brawling, that leads into the crowd and sees Sting jump off the balcony for an awesome moment before they went to the break. Big Bill was really good in this match as a monster, especially whenever he interacted with Darby since hes just able to pummel him and throw him around. Darby was obviously awesome at getting rag dolled/selling and whenever making a comeback he showed great fire. I liked the suspense they built in the ending with Starks questioning to attack Sting, and that near fall of the turnbuckle into spear combo was really good. Sting scored the pinfall here as he shouldve.****1/4"
[8.0] "Sting is literally 64 and he did a dive from a balcony... what the fuck man how can he still do that? His execution and timing was also good and his natural babyface aura matched well with the hell champions. The icon pinned Starks after a perfect Scorpion Death Drop and it was an hell of a moment. ****"

The match itself was good, with Sting diving from the stands and Darby sacrificing himself to take out Big Bill, but the best part of this match was what happened immediately after. Young Bucks vs Sting and Darby Allin is almost certainly a lock for Stings final match."
[9.0] "Might be weird to say, but Sting's current run reminds me of why he was and still IS one of the all time greats. Sting working within his limits has become something of an art form in and of itself. He retains his in-ring presence and legend status by carefully constructing the terms of his interaction and makes it seem fluid, organic and REAL. Such a stupendous accomplishment by a wrestler over sixty. I've never wanted to see someone win a title this bad in the last three years of this promotion (save for Samoa Joe's dethroning of the long overdue MJF)."
[10.0] "I still cannot believe how great Sting's AEW run has been. Watching back in WCW he was hit or miss at best, and the same can be said in TNA. His WWE run is something I'd rather forget. When he came in I thought he was an overrated washed up old man who couldn't take a bump anymore, and I groaned when he was paired with one of my favorite guys, Darby Allin. Well I'm always glad to be wrong if something turns out awesome, and Sting's AEW run has been nothing but. Look no farther than Sting, at 64(! ) years old, diving off a balcony onto his opponent. It helps of course that he limited himself to tag matches and paired up with one of the best in the world today, but Sting has held his own at every turn. Big Bill and especially Starks did really well for that part and I expected them to even retain via Bucks chicanery, but that saved for the (highly effective) post match segment. This match was a blast, super fun, and while I'm not sure about putting the tag belts on a guy about to retire, so far it's been a great ride."

Sting scares me every time he does those high dives when he's 64, but i can't say it's not exciting. I think it was the right decision for Sting and Darby to take the titles off of Starks and Bill."

Sting jumping from the balcony, Darby's side-slam to Bill on the mat, everything managed to make Sting look incredible despite his age. I'm extremely excited for their match with the Bucks now, despite being against it at the start. As someone who isn't a fan of the Bucks, that post-match is the coolest they've ever looked."
[8.0] "Calling this a fun spectacle is probably the correct assessment. "Hardcore Legend Sting" is perhaps the most fun run of his career for me as a Sting fan since the 90s. He can't move like he used to, but Big Bill and Ricky Starks are *fantastic* dance partners with Sting. Ricky especially had a career performance in this match with storytelling for the end sequence with Sting. 4/5"
[7.0] "A lot of this match was just Darby getting his ass kicked which I'm all here for, but this was still quite good. I'm not going to harp on it because Sting is a legend and he's 64 years old at this point, but the man is starting to look mortal out there which is surprising considering how good he was in his 50s and early 60s, but they did a good job hiding that and soon we will all get to celebrate his legendary career with tears in our eyes so I will forgive it. The Young Bucks attack after the match was well done and will set up a big match. 7/10"
[9.0] "Basically everything I want from a Darby/Sting match. Darby takes wild bumps (THE FUCKING SUICIDE DIVE INTO A BOSS MAN SLAM OH MY FUCKING LORD), Sting jumps off of a tall thing, a table spot and a great pair of heels in Starks and Bill. Not really much else to say, this was fun as shit, the post match was great, and now I'm hyped for Sting/Darby vs the Bucks because that will be fucking insane. ****1/2"
[8.0] "I LOVED this match. It was so much more entertaining that it had any right to be. Just brutal spots with Darby and Bill, Sting gets a final big leap from the heavens that was executed very safely (Bill did a great job of catching him, and is in general a fantastic anchor). I kind of feel bad for Starks and Bill having a fairly lackluster run with the belts, but it wasn't a great call to strap them up in the first place IMO as they never felt like a real team, and Starks felt checked out for half the run. The ending with the Bucks was presented perfectly. Simple, brutal, and extended, with a striking image of the red blood on the white suits."
[6.0] "I didn't find this match as good as people say, this was a good brawl with some great spots like Big Bill reversing Darby Allin's Suicide Dive with a Big Boss Slam and a 64 years old Sting jumping off the crowd area to quote a few but i don't think this was a banger, it was more a good main event with an emotional result - ***1/4"
[6.0] "The outside brawling wasn't interesting in the first half, but the second half was great. It is definitely a match that focuses more on the crowd's emotional investment. Starks tries to amplify the emotion when he hesitates taking Sting down, and the post-match segment as well."
[9.0] "IT's STIIIIIING! Sting got his 25th title and it was great to see. He has turned back the clock and is leaping off balcony's! Darby is probably the best person to be teamed up with Sting. When they first teamed up I thought it was fun possible short term and now I could've never imagined them NOT being together. Big Bill has to be one the most underrated signings in AEW. I am glad he got his life on track and he gets to show off his skills. Ricky...I get most wouldn't like this outcome of taking the belt off him but I think it goes to show folks that him and Bill made themselves into a legit tag team out of what seemed to be thrown together one. They became champs and I think they will get the belts back again."
[8.0] "Great match, one of Sting's best matches in AEW so far. It started in a very chaotic way with a brawl into the crowd and we got another crazy crossbody from a balcony by Sting. They moved towards the ring and that's when my favorite started as we got some of the best moments of this match like Bill catching Darby in mid-air and hitting a crazy black hole slam on the floor. Sting looked really good in the ring, much faster than some of his latest matches. Starks, Bill and Darby all delivered nice perfomances as well. Darby's code red on Bill was super impressive and the table bump both men took was wild. The closing stretch between Starks and Sting was great and the moment when Sting won was simply fantastic. No one deserved one last title run more than him in this buisness. The post-match with the Bucks attacking the new champs was also really good. 8/10 - 4.25*/5*"
[9.0] "Sting continues to turn back the clock in one of his last matches before retirement, and him finally getting gold around his waist for the first time in thirteen years is fully deserved. Darby continues to be a perfect yin to Sting's yang, with some spots such as the tope-into-Boss Man Slam defying belief. The post-match beatdown by the Bucks was also executed perfectly, with Darby's blood accentuated on the Bucks' white suits to provide a striking visual where words alone would not be sufficient."
[6.0] "Fun match that started off with a brawl like many Sting Tornado matches, im glad Sting is getting title in AEW before retiring and Darby gets a good spot from this too and I'll never complain about seeing more Darby. The match wasnt anything special, but it didnt need to be really."
[8.0] "A badass match & a wonderful moment. Darby & Big Bill rocked the shit out of this thing with their wonderful exchanges and Sting was his awesome-self hitting all those big notes that he does."
[8.0] "This was a very fun match with good booking and a hot crowd. I thought Starks did a great job in protecting Sting and selling bumps/falls to buy time for Sting's sequences to look and feel credible. Big Bill and Darby were a great combo, as well (though I'm starting to notice that Darby works well with EVERYONE). If for nothing else, you've gotta rewatch this match just to see Big Bill catch Darby on a Tope attempt and immediately transition into the best Boss Man Slam I've ever seen. The post-match angle with the Young Bucks was a great way to close the episode, as well. I'm really excited to see how this gets handled at Revolution."
[6.0] "Sting's dives have got stale for me, so I'm not gonna write he's cool, insane or whatever. AEW accustomed me to watching brutal no dq matches. It wasn't brutal or violent by any means, just a fine tornado tag match. But Sting and Darby are champions now and I think Sting deserves to be given the flowers"
[8.0] "Sting is an insane man. I had ludicrous amounts of fun watching this. 13 minutes of pure enjoyment. Props to Big Bill who is so so good in his role and that boss man slam on the outside was nailed to perfection, I loved his showing off too. Give that man a long term contract already. They aced this."
[8.0] "[4.25*] What a fun match, it was crazy from start to finish, Sting despite being old managed to do a great job and some impressive spots, the crowd was going crazy cheering for him. I loved how Big Bill was used in this match, he had some amazing exchanges in the match, especially Darby's Code Red on Bill. The final exchanges between Starks and Sting were surprisingly good and Sting's victory was a spectacular moment."
[8.0] "This was a lot of fun. Everybody was clearly working very hard and took this seriously as one of Sting's final matches. Sting is remarkable for his age, and Bill has greatly improved in recent years. I especially enjoyed all of the interactions between Bill and Darby. I did think Starks hesitation at the end was a bit lame (just a really overdone spot these days), but other than that this was a strong TV main event."
[6.0] "Sting's mobility and timing aged 64 are absolutely incredible. His willingness to take risks, bumps and punishment this close to his long overdue retirement are otherworldly. Big Bill and Darby played their opposing David and Goliath roles to perfection here. Bill might even have singles main event potential - all he needs is a 21st century haircut and a snappier ring name. Starks appears to be a lost cause, though. Any star potential he might have had seems to have fizzled out completely ***1/4"
[6.0] "I'm just glad Sting is having fun in his last month at AEW as a wrestler. Hopefully this stint as transitional tag champions can help get the division back on track. I didn't hate the Starks/Big Bill run, but they also weren't really given much to work with in my opinion and they weren't even a real tag team. That boss man slam Darby took on the outside was absolutely nasty. I swear he's trying to retire before Sting between that and his match with Takeshita where he was just getting launched everywhere like Yoshihiko. I usually don't complain about "believability" in pro wrestling but Darby hitting a code red on a man that's literally twice as big as him was kinda ridiculous."
[9.0] "Man Sting and Darby getting the tag titles was loooong overdue and I'm glad it happened. Big Bill and Darby were a lethal combination as expected and the highlight of the match. Kinda feel bad for Ricky and Bill since I think they're a good team and had more left in the tank, but Darby and Sting getting the titles was absolutely the right call and Bill and Ricky can get the titles back anytime. Really fun match that made me sad the title run is just happening now since I think these Sting tags have been so reliable."
[9.0] "Darby/Sting matches always hit just right in their own way, but with Tornado rules and a title on the line this just got that little extra. It didn't even have the most insane spots or bumps, but it built to the title change in a smart and well-paced way that got Sting's big stage dive out of the way early for the pop. Big Bill's a total star, every single move he does has flourishes and momentum behind it and he oozes charisma; his Black Hole Slam on Darby to counter the tope was a thing of beauty. Ricky didn't impress as much here but I did really like his finishing stretch with Sting and his slight hesitation after his super smooth turnbuckle removal, like "do I really want to end Sting like this? " before realizing Sting was about to power up and snapped back into game mode. A great match elevated by the perfect atmosphere and title change, followed by an incredible post-match segment to set up what looks to be the best Bucks run in a decade. ****1/4"
[10.0] "Pacing was amazing. The physicalness was perfect. Making it a tornado tag was the best route to go. From the start, to finish, I was glued to my television. The Bucks coming at the end and absolutely murdering sting and Darby was the cherry on top. Love Sting, and appreciate his commitment at his age.. Sting and Darby Allin bring a unique dynamic to the tag team, combining Sting's legendary experience and presence with Darby Allin's high-flying and fearless style. Their collaboration could create an intriguing and effective partnership in the ring."
