Deonna Purrazzo vs. Red Velvet

I don't remember Velvet being this good in the ring, but I also can't really remember the last time I watched a match of her's. Either way, she had a good showing here and I think Purrazzo looked great as well. I'm really excited to see what she does in AEW."

[7.0] "Some of these ratings are way too harsh. This was a good match, Red Velvet looked good here, she had good punches and kept up in the technical work. Deonna looked good in her first AEW match since signing. ***1/2"

[3.0] "This got a bit ugly at points, and didn't really seem to have any special flow to it that made it particularly good. I thought some of the exchanges early on in the match were sloppy, and the finish was done like this was just an extended squash (which it should have been, but good booking doesn't always lead to amazing matches)."

[3.0] "I found it a bit odd that Red Velvet got in most of the offense and seemingly outshined Deonna in a debut match in AEW (as a contracted talent). This should've showcased Deonna's technical prowess and instead it was just fine. This was the same issue I had with Mariah May's AEW debut match as well."

"I havent seen much of Purazzo, but Im a big Red Velvet fan and this match delivered despite the brevity. Velvet is great and I hope to see her rising higher on the card soon."

She's a good worker for "showcase" matches like this because she makes everyone's offense look better. I'm not ready to say Purrazzo should rocket to the top of the division, but she's got a good foundation to build on from an in-ring perspective."

[7.0] "Red Velvet was a good choice for Purrazzo's debut. He Venice de Milo finisher looks painful as Velvet sold it well. Velvet has been rocking it since her comeback. Purrazzo has a nice set of skills that will look great in contrast in styles with other wrestlers on the roster to make interesting match ups."

Was strange seeing her on another company's TV when Impact had their big relaunch into TNA at the same time, but she had outgrown them."
