This type of match only really works for me with a great atmosphere and a sense of true danger, and in this cold setting in a small building it has neither of those things. Asuka has some really impressive work, there are some gnarly bumps, and those swinging neckbreakers look great. I'm just not into the drama of the match much at all and find the heat for the match jarring at times."

But I don't think there's much unique spots in the match it's a last man standing match but without much in it to make it unique. Nikki cross was legit one of the best characters in wrestling at this time. (****)"

Great spots throughout the match, incredible stiffness and intensity, and THAT FINISH. So far, the Asuka match I've enjoyed the most in NXT."

Like, this is a last woman standing match against Nicky Cross and this for some reason looked so great. The powerbomb Cross did looked nasty, the superplex who ended the match was great and I enjoyed how good both wrestlers used the weapons in this match, something really important to make this works."

[10.0] "I remember I was already pretty much checked out of NXT by this point in 2017, but I'm glad I went back for this match finally because it was a real doozy. Asuka is Asuka, a legend, and I always liked Nikki Cross as well, especially in this unhinged part of her career. These two women really gave each other hell, some extremely brutal spots especially in the context of WWE, landing on piles of chairs, crashing on the ramp, and finally a pretty damn great bump through the NXT announce table, a rare spot indeed. Cross did a great job dealing out damage to Asuka, and though Asuka did indeed come out the victor, it was no easy thing, she went through hell in this match. Fantastic good fun."

Not as classic as this match, but still a great match and, clearly, the best match of Cross' carreer. Both women took some solid bumps, especially the final superplex onto the commentator's table. 8/10."

At one point Nikki took a knee to the head, and it unfortunately looked awkward and like it didn't land, but they absolutely made up later in the match with the vicious ringside bump, and of course the scary suplex off the ladder."

[9.0] "A fascinating violent brawl that had exceptionally brutal offense and immense character cementing from both women. Asuka & Nikki were on their best forms as characters and ever since, this form of viciousness wasn't tapped by both women and it's not their fault. The crowd were slowly finding the groove of the match and gave sound reactions for all the major moments that made those unforgettable. I wish Nikki could get her chance to revitalize as this sadistic version of hers in the near future. 4.5 out of 5 stars!"

[9.0] "This match is so frustrating. Asuka in this match looked like a worldbeater, like the best wrestler in the world, but this match structure tried to make her look worse every step of the way. Against this motivated and determined version of Asuka, Nikki Cross just didn't belonged in the same ring, in the same match. She took a lot of punishment, but didn't leave an impression."

[10.0] "Critics say that Becky vs Charlotte is the best women's match ever in WWE history. While that match was very good, it wasn't very brutal and I was capable of watching it without problem. On the other hand, Asuka vs Nikki was extremely brutal, to the point where it actually made me look away from several spots. Asuka kicking Nikki while inside the trash can, Nikki slamming Asuka into the pile of chairs, and the superplex on the commentators' table were what made this match one of the best in modern wrestling history."

[9.0] "This was a great match. So many brutal spots here. Nikki cross came out and wrestled like a huge star. She got charisma and insanity. Asuka was great as usual. The powerbomb to the chairs was sick, so was the last spot where asuka did a superplex to cross through the announce table. Great finish in my opinion. That's how to do a memorable hardcore match unlike 2"historic" women mitb match on SD."

[6.0] "Fine match, good from a story perspective. Nikki is so messy in terms of her movement and move execution, and her character work is extremely cringeworthy because she overdramatises her unhinged persona, coming off as highly comical. I can’t take her facial expressions or her dialogue seriously, and it really brings down all her matches. Asuka’s fighting spirit can occasionally make her cringeworthy too, but she balances that out with a mostly impressive offence and with other aspects of how she expresses her character which feel more natural in displaying her dominance and fitting her booking. The trashcan spot was good but Asuka should have taken advantage of the fact Cross had more protection in such a situation and should have hit her kicks with more impact. I would have loved that. Apart from the weapon spots these two mostly had average or poor chemistry. I did think the spots involving the chair piles were quite good with impressive impact. Things felt really disjointed with all the brawling and spots in the entrance stage area. I did enjoy the finish with both going through the announce table but with Asuka getting to her feet just long enough to win the match before collapsing from exhaustion as she screams in celebration. I enjoy Asuka remaining so dominant, as the story of her reign is very enjoyable even if she isn't having great matches. ***"

Both women came out of this looking strong, and this was a hell of a violent match that WWE should allow their wrestlers to do more. Also, all the main roster women should watch this. ****1/4"

[10.0] "I absolutely love this match. It is easily the most hardcore women's match of all time and probably the second or third best women's match in WWE. There were so many awesome spots but my favorites were the trashcan kicks, powerbomb onto chairs, and especially the ending. Nikki really proved herself as a legitimate competitor not only in NXT but when she moves up to the main roster. I wasn't really on the Asuka hype train before this match but now I see how talented she really is. ****1/2."

[8.0] "I liked the fast beginning. The wrestling parts between some of the spots were very good, the spots themselves were great, the story of two crazy women going at each other was clear and was told amazingly. The only bad parts I would name are long set-ups for the spots which hurt the pace and that they weren't able to keep the crowd interested in their bout throughout the whole match (although it was the last match of the tapings). The finish was massive and the winner just survived her opponent, nothing more. I liked it."

They went all out - amazing action from start to finish w/ no dull moments & dull moments are something that we usually get a ton of in LMS matches. The big spots (trash can, neckbreaker's, the ending.. ) were all absolutely tremendous & the action in between those was terrific as well w/ some real good selling. ****1/2"

[9.0] "This match had a ton of violence in it. Easily the first actual good hardcore match WWE women have ever had. Cross came across as truly sadistic, beating down Asuka, who just kept getting up. Asuka bumped like an absolute champion for Nikki and made her look like a true threat to her title. The finish was great and Asuka's win was executed perfectly to put both her and Cross over. The best weekly NXT match not involving Oney Lorcan in a good long while. **** but I'll throw 9/10 at it for actually feeling fresh in the context of WWE/NXT."
