[4.0] "[2.0*] I am NOT a fan of Copeland working jobbers, specially super super jobbers like Griff Garrison who was out of television for maybe 135 years. It takes every special feeling out of him and the ratings are confirming my point. He is already a part timer so make him do special things. This does not make any sense at all. I do not care that he wanted to work with the guy, maybe you should actually promote the guy before it? Wtf? He was out since the Varsity Blondes tag team."
[6.0] "Really liked the old-school build here, I thought it was pretty cool to watch... the cocky Garrison provoking the legend and making everyone wanting to see his ass getting kicked. The whole thing probably had Copeland contributions, his experience is great for AEW - {**3/4}"
[5.0] "They should've leaned in more for the comedy angle with Cole Carter's MILF addict gimmick, it was good to see Griff in a match, it's been a while. Wonder what they'll do with Edge next, I'd like to see him move on from Christian Cage for the time being."
[4.0] "I don't mind Edge doing an impromptu match with someone like Griff Garrison. Being outside WWE for essentially the first time ever, might as well get weird with it. This wasn't meant to be anything and it was fine, but I can see the positive in wanting to get Garrison some ring time with a vet like him."
[5.0] "Not really sure why we got this match, but it's, at least, a pretty cool opportunity for Garrison. I'm not really a fan of his or anything, but he did good here. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike Garrison or anything, but he hasn't really stood out to me thus far. As for the match itself, it was fine. It wasn't bad, but not quite great either. It nearly got a 6/10 from me, but it just fell short a little. I did like that Copeland won with the Crossface, as opposed to the Spear, though."
[5.0] "A pretty basic low-card heel vs upper-card babyface match. Nice to see Garrison get some tv time. Nothing too special to remember about this match. 5/10"
[5.0] "Adam decided to give this man an opportunity to show his performance and potential to the wrestling world, and it was partially successful. match was very average and didn't have some very interesting spots, but I think it delivered was it was supposed to deliver. (**3/4)"
[5.0] "This was fine, but not special. Griff was a little underwhelming, since we never see him on AEW TV, but it suits the staring from the bottom narrative."
[7.0] "Was at the show live. I was elated to see Adam come out in his gear, it was a wonderful unexpected surprise! However, when he issued an open challenge, I expected to be disappointed. Lo and behold, Griff answers the challenge. I would have liked to have seen this go to someone else, personally, but given Griff is someone Adam has wanted to work with, I get it. With that said, this match really pleasantly surprised me. I expected a quick squash but Adam really let Griff shine here and allowed him to get some heat before putting him away. Not extraordinary, but this match definitely exceeded my expectations."
[4.0] "Griff Garrison has had one appearance on proper AEW TV in the last year and a half getting squashed by Wardlow but here he is meant to be competitive with Adam? A very bizarre match to throw out there cold based off of an interview Adam gave about wanting to work with Griff eventually."
[5.0] "Copeland is still good. He can still do his thing even if he isn't near the level of athleticism younger athletes have developed in the last couple of generations that have come after him. The problem is he wasn't facing one of those athletes, he went against Griff Garrison, a totally average wrestler and charisma vacuum, who seems more like a small star of the territorial days than a future champ."
[6.0] "[3.25*] Adam Copeland is one of the most respected guys in the industry and one of the most experienced, he knew how to perfectly control the pace of the match, making even the interferences good. The match allowed Griff Garrison to make a rare appearance on TV and show his talent, the match was cool and fulfilled its objective."
[5.0] "Good experience for Griff Garrison (nice to see him reference THAT Brodie Lee sketch that he's still best remembered for), and notable seeing that Adam Copeland has talked him up in interviews. Not great, but it certainly wasn't like that Brock Anderson match against Luchasaurus that time. He just got a bit of shine, then Copeland came back and finished him off quickly."
[5.0] "Just a glorified squash, even if Garrison got a lot of offense and some nearfalls in, as the winner was never in doubt -- and frankly, should never be in this matchup. Copeland certainly wants to work with young guys and rub off some star power and it probably was a career highlight so far for Griff, but the unfortunate reality is that right now he is just as bland as he was in the Varsity Blondes."
