[8.0] "This was great for an Underground match, a stipulation I am not a fan of. Dijak and Thorpe make you buy into it. The ending looked set with Dijak set to send Thorpe through the table but the switch up helped make it."
[5.0] "All the bells and whistles that 'underground' gimmick added to make a pro-wrestling match look, sound and feel different didn't really add much to the story of this match - vast majority of it they spent on the outside and did a few memorable spots (which looked impressive) with very little interesting or even important in between. Thorpe's intensity somehow makes him less intimidating and fiery, which is bizarre because it was all about him taking a beating, persevering through it, and ultimately overcoming a much physically bigger opponent. He beat Dijak clean, stood tall and was made to look as strong as possible, but I didn't think that this felt like an important milestone of his career anyway."
[8.0] "This was an absolute amazing match , and this was in my opinion one of the best underground matches of all time , this concept and the way it was implemented was well down. I liked the energy with the extra talent around the ring , good match and solid motions throughout."
[7.0] "7.6 First underground match I've seen. Very cool concept. Love NXT always keeps debuting new match types. Ending spot was great. Dijak sold it great when he was in the hold."
[8.0] "this was dope! what a banger of a match to end the year on. Both of em looked like a million bucks. it had me wondering if this was a pie or not"
[7.0] "The NXT Underground match is back. The lights are dimmed, there aren't any ring ropes and the only ways to win are by submission or knockout. The wrestlers around the ring cheering and making a bunch of noise for everything is a bit cheesy, though it does bring some much-needed energy. Thorpe and Dijak spent most of the match just beating each other with punches, kicks, power moves and a couple dives, it's nothing fancy but it works here. I feel like this did get a little too repetitive and could have been a few minutes shorter. Thorpe won after putting Dijak in a sleeper hold for a long time and hitting a DDT through the table. The Underground match seems to be Thorpe's specialty, as he's won both of them. It gives him a little something because otherwise he's pretty dull. This was entertaining. 7/10"
[8.0] "A good hard-hitting match between a Dijak that, though being defeating, looked like a monster and Eddy Thorpe. I also actually like the visual of this "NXT Underground" that present an interresting presentation with dimmed lights and the NXT wrestlers participating around the ring. 8/10."
[8.0] "A fairly strong main event for the show. I wish Dijak could get a big win in NXT, but I'm happy he's at least being used and being presented like a big threat. I'm not the biggest fan of Thorpe, though this and his previous Underground Match with Damon Kemp were both entertaining."
[7.0] "A pretty good match here between Dijak and Thorpe that should hopefully conclude their feud for now. Some nice moments that took advantage of the environment. I felt like I preferred Thorpe and Kemp a bit more from 7/4 but this was still pretty good. I like that NXT Underground has become Thorpes match like how the Fight Pit was for Timothy Thatcher a few years ago."
