Eric Young vs. Roderick Strong

[6.0] "This was a fine enough opener. The crowd was fully behind Roderick Strong, which was cool to see, but the action was pretty standard stuff with Roddy overcoming the 3 on 1 odds to prevail. ***"

[7.0] "This match was actually pretty good. It was wrestled well & had some cool spots. Eric's Sainty faction was amazing and should've been treated with care when they went to the main roster."

[5.0] "Really quite a bland match for how talented Roderick Strong is. The interferences from Sanity as the referee just watched was a bit odd, but it did not detract too much from the perfectly fine work on display. I think this was partially just a bit of a styles clash, Strong works better as a calculating technician but was forced to play the plucky babyface, and Young works better as the underdog but was forced to play the domineering heel. Strong got the win with End of Heartache and this was not bad, but was not particularly great either, a fine watch."

[5.0] "An Average starter between eric young and Roderick Strong- not much really to mention about it - 5/10"

[6.0] "An okay event starter. Nothing much to highlight here. Roderick managed to show both a struggle and, later on, the will to overcome the odds. That is always appreciated in matches like these. ***"

[8.0] "A pretty good match and opener to the show between both men, nice in ring work between them and the crowd was hot for it."

[6.0] "Strong decent opening match with plenty of back and forth from both performers. Nothing too memorable but enjoyable none the less"

[7.0] "A pretty good opener, in which the "Roddy vs. The World" storyline was continued, and the result was a wise decision, I think. Back and forth action, with a great crowd, who were very supportive of Roddy. The match didn't seem to me to be written in such a way as to make Strong look like a Superman, even though he got past Dain and Wolfe."

[8.0] "It was a very good match to open the show. The crowd was really behind Roderick Strong, it was awesome to see him getting such a reaction. It was a fast start, slow building continuation of Young beating Roderick up and the other members of Sanity helping him out and a feel-good finish. Young is very good at making his opponents to gain momentum and Strong is surely gaining one."

[7.0] "A really good opener to start this wonderful TakeOver. Strong has it all in the ring and Young has the heel down to perfection."

[7.0] "Eric Young is played out and has been for a while, but I think he did an alright job making Strong look good here, not that Roddy needs help looking good. This was all Strong, really, from him jumping the rest of Sanity to him just destroying EY all over the ring when he got in his offense. Overcoming the numbers game was actually pretty neat here, and I was a BIG fan of Roddy pulling the End of Heartache out for the finish. Overall, a hot opener that put over the right guy in a big way. ***1/2"

[8.0] "I thought it was very good. Roddy coming from behind taking out the Sanity was great booking and the crowd was on fire for Roddy. The action was grear back and forth and i just love Roddy wrestling. The finish with the End of Heartache was awesome and a markout moment for me(****)"

[7.0] "Did not mind this! This was fun back and forth and it's the first time a crowd was truly invested in Roddy as a come from behind babyface! ***1/2"

[8.0] "Strong's one forte is he has pretty good offense, and Eric Young is one of the best bumpers out there, so you know you'll get something out of a match like this. Disliked how they kept harping on the idea that Sanity "threatened Strong's family", since Strong didn't work the match like he was heated or threatened on that level whatsoever, but besides that a fine match here."

[6.0] "Always good to see Roderick Strong kill it - he was on fire here (as he has been in every major NXT match he has been involved in so far). I did think the match overstayed it's welcome quite a bit by the end though - the match lost some of it's energy, not all of it, but some. It was still pretty good though, but could've been better had they trimmed it a bit. **3/4"
