Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Hiroyoshi Tenzan

[5.0] "U-30 champ Tanahashi getting a #1 contenders match for the big title makes a lot of sense in theory however he is way in over his head and never gets anything major going here. Tenzan sort of works the arm but only with traditional moves that he'd use anyway like the Mongolian chops and the Buffalo Sleeper, overreaches going for a moonsault that lets Tana get back into it for a brief spell but once his big enzui/german combo doesn't work he starts scrambling for flash pins and the dragon suplex but Tenzan doesn't let it happen and Tenzan plants him with the TTD."

[6.0] "Ultimate Crush kicks off with a pretty standard puro-styled match. Tenzan comes out in Shredder-esque gear and wins handily with a driver. Unfortunately, the audience reaction is a little mute which holds back on otherwise decent match."

[5.0] "Tanahashi had his shoulder taped so Tenzan worked a bit that body part. The Tokyo Dome was quiet until Tanahashi had a few nearfalls at the end but Tenzan was never in danger."
