[5.0] "Pretty average match, some interesting moves and sequences but nothing really impressive. I think this was one of the worst Orange Cassidy defenses I've ever watched, but this is no demerit at all, the guy is really good and consistent - {**1/2}"

[6.0] "I was hoping for a little more here, but this was still solid. Angélico just felt a little slow at times, which was weird to me. I feel like, if I was him, I'd be doing my best to show out, considering that he hasn't been a prominent part of AEW for quite some time."

[5.0] "It was a pretty mid-tier match that just felt pointless. Angelico didn't appear in AEW for 2 months and he gets a title shot? The wrestling wasn't bad, and was okay, but it just feels like lazy booking. I guess I'm not surprised by the high scoring of this match thus far, because some voters tend to overrate matches, based on their favourites. But the match wasn't that good and felt like filler."

[8.0] "I guess I'm not surprised by the scoring of this match thus far (i.e., Cagematch voters tend to underrate matches if the outcome is predictable, and outside interference is almost always loathe... by AEW voters anyway), but I'm a little disappointed in what I'm seeing because this match was quite good. Both wrestlers communicated a clear in-ring strategy and story to this match. Angelico's usual chain-wrestling/technical style was a good fit for a match that focused on whether Cassidy's knee would hold up, but he also added a few drops and slams that felt like unconventional (but welcome) additions to his arsenal. They also built effectively to a well-received climax, which felt earned (given that the match had space to breathe). The Danhausen/Serpentico spots were a little corny, but it's supposed to be a fun Rampage opener with fan favorites (and the Main Event was going to be a very serious affair)."

[8.0] "This match deserves much better than people have been rating it. All the wrestling was great, I feel like this was a great spotlight for Angelico and good story development for OC as well as a chance for him to show off his chain wrestling chops. The only demerit was some of the interference stuff was a bit clunky from danhausen and serpentico"

[5.0] "I didn't get a good vibe from the match, and it was lower than my expectation. I don't care whether it is on Dynamite, Collision or Rampage! my rating is just based on the match quality and its atmosphere, which was boring and had nothing to offer. (**1/2)"

[8.0] "Very surprised to see such a low rating for this one. I thought this was great. Orange looked awesome like he usually does in these title defenses, and Angelico was a game opponent for him. Danhausen and Serpentico actually added to the match with some of stuff they were doing at ringside too. Think I'd agree with the commenter who said that the perception of Angelico as a worker (and perhaps Orange as well still, which is really ludicrous considering the year he has had) and the perception of the show itself really coloring people's reactions here."

[6.0] "Angelico and Orange can both go in the ring and at times in this match it really showed. The issue with this match was too much of the comedy specifically from Danhausen and Serpentico on the outside. It was just too much interference in this match when Orange and Angelico could put on such a good match without it."

[6.0] "Happy to see Angelico, he always is a smooth mover and his aesthetic is pleasing. Match was fine, if the usual predictable Orange number-padding title defense. The most tedious feature was the side kick interference that actively detracted from the match quality. Oh look, Danhausen is cursing guys again."
GoodVsBadGuys wrote on 09.12.2023:
[8.0] "People are SEVERELY underrating this match just because it was on RAMPAGE and Angelico was in it. If you had this same match move for move and Angelico was motion capture replaced with Zack Sabre Junior or Daniel Garcia, smarks would be eating it up. This was a very pleasant fusion of pro wrestling and sports entertainment, and Orange Cassidy continues to overdeliver and make his case for Wrestler of the Year 2023."

"Great, technical, fast paced showing from both men. This was really and sink or swim scenario for Angelico, and he definitely swam. Orange delivering yet another banger. Really good stuff from both guys. ****.25"

[7.0] "I enjoyed this match. Angelico has a unique style compared to others in AEW and this was a match suited to his strengths. Not the fast-paced match many are used to, but I enjoyed the submission work here."
ImperialUno wrote on 09.12.2023:
[5.0] "I don't understand why AEW loves to put championships on the line everytime a singles champion has a single match, Angelico has done nothing to get this title shot andd this match had no interest like most of the AEW TBS Championship match. The match itself wasn't bad but dull, Angelico worked Cassidy's leg and though Cassidy's selling was decent, it was hard to get interested and the most annoying thing about the match is those interferences, they were so tiresome. There was some sequences but there wasn't enough to make this match interesting - **3/4"
