The Swanton bomb of Jeff Hardy from the ladder is insane, so is twist fate of Matt Hardy from ladder. In the end Hardy Boyz won the gold. [****]"

[7.0] "What a great surprise return this was. Could they not have done more to establish that there would be a 4th team in this match? They should've advertised it as a surprise 4th entrant. If the Hardy Boyz couldn't get contracts in time, just have The New Day enter the match. I will say, The New Day milked that moment at the top of the ramp perfectly. The rumor was that the Hardys were entering the match, but nobody knew for sure. It felt like an entire lifetime passed between when they said "Who? " and when the Hardy music hit. What a moment."

[4.0] "I... hm. No. I don't like this. Was the Hardy Return pop great? Yes. But I think their surprise inclusion did more harm to the pacing and logic of the match than it helped and, if you look at the history of the belts, it was the domino that fell that led to the frequent hot potatoing of the tag team belts and, ultimately Braun/Nicholas. So, from a booking standpoint, I really don't like the Hardy's winning, especially since they really didn't get much of a good reign out of it, and I really, really don't like how it stymied the teams that should have been center stage at the time. As for the match itself, aside from Cesaro/Sheamus's freakish athleticism, there isn't a lot that's worth returning too. The Hardy's big moment was somewhat disheveled by Jeff missing one of the two ladders he was supposed to land on which, man, -that- was a sign of things to come."

An average that is far from the level of some of the ladder matches in previous Manias. It's easy to see why people liked it so much, but with the surprise factor of the Hardys Return gone, this match didn't do much for me."

[7.0] "Cool four-way tag team Ladder match right here in the middle of this WrestleMania which was definitely one of the most qualitative matches present on this PPV so I'm perfectly happy with what these eight guys came up with together, without the Hardy Boyz it would have been something underwhelming so thankfully that legendary WrestleMania moment saved the day and the two were obviously the stars of this match so they made everything enjoyable. Even beyond their presence, I thought the others were particularly good too especially Cesaro & Sheamus who performed very well, and Enzo & Cass who managed to get the crowd behind them at times. Gallows & Anderson were useless as usual as they're two mediocre wrestlers, I wish they weren't even there. But overall it was a good spotfest with a lot of very cool spots, the highlight of it all being of course that insane Swanton Bomb from Jeff that will give the titles to himself and his brother directly after their incredible comeback."

Instead of being them, it signaled the return of The Hardy Boyz, to a thunderous ovation from the crowd, who loved them and already anticipated the Broken character, creating an electric atmosphere that ranks amongst the biggest in wrestling history. The match was very short, limiting the amount of cool things that could happen, and there is this underlying feeling that Enzo & Cass got their moment taken away which sucks, but overall it is a pleasant match and veritable moment to witness and be amazed."

[6.0] "This was my second favorite match of the evening, but cannot compare to recent ladder matches put on in the ROH/N. american indie world. I gave this three stars based on the pop for The Hardy's, but it's rather hollow seeing as it's not Broken Matt & Brother Nero, but 'The Hardy Boys. ' Watching this on the Network, I found it interesting that the camera focused a good deal more on Jeff than Matt, and upon their entrance, right before Matt was going to get the crowd going w/ his cutthroat 'Delete' motion, the director cut away to some off-ring video package. Yet it was all for naught as after the obvious denouncement the camera walked the line of showing Matt elicit crowd pops w/ that very thing."

[7.0] "This match was awesome right from the moment the Hardyz were announced a contenders. The crowd suddenly erupted with mad excitement and the Hardyz just fed off that all match-long. This was vintage Matt and Jeff: lots of big death-defying spots and lots of crowd-pleasing moments. The other 3 tag teams all looked great too, though. Cesaro and Sheamus remain one of my favourite tag teams with their "lad" relationship and their big impactful offence. Enzo and Cass did well with their usual 'Big Man saving Little Man' roles. Gallows and Anderson were alright too (Gallows wasn't dreadful as he usually is). There were one or two teases where it looked liked Enzo might actually grab the titles and (finally) allow Enzo and Cass to hold some gold, which I personally would have gone with. I understand the desire to reward Matt and Jeff for returning to WWE, but surely putting the belts on them on their first night back after not being in WWE for so damn long is understandably annoying. It was still a moment that excited the 10 year-old Hardyz fan inside me, but I don't know if it's good to be pushing wrestlers this old unless it leads to a great payoff when they are dethroned by a red hot team. Best moments of the night were here in this match. ***3/4"

The reaction from the crowd was amazing, the Hardys delivered, Jeff as always doesn't value his own life and Matt with that Twist of Fate from the ladder. All other teams did good, but another Wrestlemania match was for some reason too short and it did hurt the match. But that doesn't really matter, Hardys are back!"

Carrot Junkie wrote on 04.04.2017:
[9.0] "Easily the match of the night. A short, sweet, hard-hitting, exuberant burst of action bolstered immensely by one of the greatest returns of the modern era. The Hardy Boys performed very well here, coming off like the dominant force that they should in these matches. It took Gallows and Cass, the two heaviest hitters, in order to take them out of the match for any period of time, which was a smart decision. The most impressive thing about this match, though, was that Cesaro and Sheamus managed to stand out and look fantastic despite the long shadow of the Hardys looming over them. With both of those teams performing at their best, this match was never anything less than tremendously entertaining. Sure, not everything made sense, but that's a small price to pay for the spectacle we got."

Good spots, interesting work from all the teams, a special mention for Anderson and Gallows, perfect heels for a match that delivered everything it could. Impressive. ****1/4"

The Hardys have become perhaps the hottest act in wrestling even without WWE, so put them in front of a 'Mania crowd and the energy will just explode. The action of this was incredibly impressive as well, Jeff's insane dive was just the punctuation mark on a ton of great work by everyone involved. Special credit to Cesaro & Sheamus for being the clear 2nd best team and adding a ton to the match. This was just awesome, one of the best WWE matches I have seen in quite a while."

[8.0] "This match was originally a very bland, heatless angle, but the addition of ladders, and then the Hardyz, lead to this being one of the better matches on the show. The Hardyz coming out was a MASSIVE pop and an awesome moment, and it lead to the match being hot from the bell. In the ring, I thought the MVPs were easily Cesaro & Sheamus who have clicked HARD as a tag team and threw everybody around for most of the match; they looked incredible here to the point where Sheamus actually got just as positive a reaction as Cesaro. Both of them as well as Enzo & Cass remaining over in a match with the Hardyz was really cool; the whole match had this great atmosphere and felt like a lot crammed into their run-time. All the ladder spots were pretty good and paced really well, with the way Enzo & Cass worked together being really fun. The champs played spoiler too, stopping cool setups, preventing people from climbing ladders, all that. Matt & Jeff honestly were only in the match for short bursts, perhaps since they worked a main event ladder match against the Young Bucks the previous night in ROH (pretty crazy). Still, Matt's huge Twist of Fate and Jeff's wild swanton off the ladder were perfect to cap off the match and crown the Hardyz new tag champions while letting the other teams shine. Great stuff that was perfect for Wrestlemania. ****"

[8.0] "This match is a clear 8 in my opinion. First of all, the New Day: they showed with their in-ring attire to announce a new team in the match. This gave a +20% surprise boost to the Hardy's return! Matt and Jeff can do huge things now on Raw, they're the best tag champs that a wrestling show could desire today: entertaining, talented, funny, experienced, loved by the crowds AND by the Internet Community. Talking about the match, not the best ladder match of the history, some good spots but we saw extraordinary things during the last Wrestlemania ladder matches but Jeff is totally insane and we know it. Good job."
