[7.0] "Absolutely good elimination match here, the style of the match itself is a hit or miss cuz it's not always convincing to me at least but here it's perfectly done for the stipulation, I just wish the pins were not that fast I wish it was more slower in a lot of parts to be honest cuz this was going to be classic in the beginning but it is what it is I had a good time with it. ***1/2"
[10.0] "Match also found on Prime Time Wrestling Aug 31 87. *Looks at this on paper* Oh this should be good, Bruno's third to last match ever btw. Heels have targeted Jake and it's all hooking me. Unfortunately this results in Santana & Sammartino facing a trio. The action is hot as Bret Hart finds himself out of the match! Wow this is great stuff. Anvil looking very effective and with the help of his manager, Bruno Sammartino is against two men. Cruel ironic fate for Neidhart as Jimmy Hart is the cause of his elimination as well. It's down to Honky and... GO get him Bruno! Bruno is attacked right away but eventually the hero wins. I... I heckin love this my goodness. Fun across the board."
[6.0] "The WWF was still doing these elimination matches leading up to the first Survivor Series. I can only assume these were the spark of Vince McMahon's idea to make an entire PPV of 5 on 5 elimination matches, which used to be fun watch back then. Here, it's still fun. But he puts Bruno Sammartino, a semi-retired wrestler, over his Intercontinental and tag champions in a head-scratching move. Weird result aside, this was still fun for the oddball pairing of Jake Roberts, Bruno, and Tito Santana. Two consummate babyfaces and a guy who would go on to become one of the diabolical characters of all-time."
