[8.0] "[4.0*] i hate this match. but at the same time i don't due to my rating of just 4-stars, because i like a good "ibushi vs white g1 climax 2019" styled match. but...I HATE THE OVERBOOKING. making mjf getting injured on zero hour, to get replaced by a man who's also injured and it doesn't make no damn sense. he could've picked samoa joe, and that still wouldn't make no sense due to the fact of the devil storyline. and this actually ruined and it buried "the switchblade" jay white as he's buried by mjf who's wrestling on one leg and a torn labrum by the way, and then he was also buried by jon moxley three fucking times! and, during the match, there was no way for mjf to fight with one leg because the match could be terribly promising to be the worst match of 2023, and work a damn match! the leg injury is nothing. not only he was faking the selling leg, but i found out mjf was injured when he hit that "botched" elbow drop on the broken table. but still, classic leg targeting match but FUCK the super cena john cena comeback, storylines and sequences. and fuck the injury too, But HOLY MOTHER OF DAMN THIS RUINED JAY WHITE. WOW. but anyways, 4-star match because of a classic leg-targeting match, hehe."
[1.0] "It's been possibly the worst match I've ever watched in AEW, what an absolute nonsense MJF could go half an hour with an injured leg and defending his title against one of the very best wrestlers at that time, booking of this match really ruined Jay White run ..it was absolutely garbage"
[2.0] "Rewatched this match a while ago and forgot to rate it, but this is just bad. Overbooking at its worst. Jay White didn't need to be ruined like this. They could have had it go MANY ways but this was the worst one. The first 10 minutes were good but that's about it."
[7.0] "Just getting this out the way now, not a fan of the this match may not happen thing despite everyone knowing its of course going to happen. Save that angle for TV not PPV nights. That being said, not a bad match up here at all if you ignore the convoluted booking, but this match had some great moments. Jay White is an excellent wrestler, he belongs in the main event and this was a great match up. MJF as "Our Scumbag" babyface I always thought was an interesting run, but that doesn't take away from the fact that he too is a great wrestler, his style stands out more because he doesn't do a lot of modern things, but he's a phenomenal hybrid that blends the past and the present very well. I love his cutter from the apron onto the floor, really cool spot. Despite all that, I think the match went a bit too long, but was still really good."
[9.0] "I know that 0 houre events and Adam Cole bulshite before the katch were not good but when the match started i was imideietly hook. I like MJF spots (if they were little unnececery) and whole heelish act of Jay white. True MJF Face performance and injury angle only add to it. Red hot crowd also help this match. I undestant why many people shit on this match bur personaly i think it i (accide of match with Danielson the best MJF titel defence. Good classic wrestling match"
[2.0] "A technically competent enough match absolutely destroyed by both context and hindsight. What the hell were they thinking here with this match? Absolutely neutered Jay White in AEW, who previously managed to become one of the best things about NJPW with his Switchblade character after a rocky start with the gimmick (that first Tana match is honestly kind of bad at points despite both wrestlers being really top notch) and didn't honestly help MJF either as it contributed to the feeling that he was starting to outstay his welcome at the top of the card during this particular run. The Devil feud was genuinely awful for reasons both in and out of the company's control, and this was one of the biggest offenders of the entire period of the company. It's almost like a parody of a gutsy babyface performance fighting through injury and pain, except at least a parody done well would be funny and not crediblity-ruining. I don't usually comment on Dave Meltzer's star ratings as I think some idiots put way too much stock in the man's opinions while also trying to dismiss them, but jesus christ. Fucking four and a half stars? I know Meltzer gets accused of bias towards AEW a lot and I think it's a bit of a nuanced conversation blown slightly out of proportion due to the tribalistic nature of internet wrestling fans, but shit like this absolutely does not help his case. A disaster that I can't even bring myself to give a zero due to the technical qualities of the in-ring wrestling being decent enough in a vacuum, but that sort of makes me hate it more. One of the biggest nadirs of AEW's entire history."
[0.0] "Jesus Christ man. What the actual fuck are we doing here man. Complete butchering of Jay White's (and by extension Bullet Club Gold's) credibility and also completely devalues the world title picture. Drags on way too long, pointless big moves that should be now where near possible for a man as injured as MJF, and the fact that they were actually going to have Adam Cole compete first and expect us to take this seriously. Just a whole lotta bullshit."
[7.0] "Disgusting booking. AEW made Jay look like a very weak wrestler. He couldn't defeat the injured MJF even with the help of Gunns. The match itself was not as bad as the rate on the Cagematch show it. ***1/2"
[0.0] "With no context this is extremely hard to understand why it's bad but when you do you'll completely understand. On the pre show MJF got attacked and literally had to go to the hospital and wasn't cleared to compete. He comes back and then does a TERRIBLE job of selling the leg and Jay white looks like an idiot for barley targeting it. The fact that this went on for half an hour is beyond diabolical and Jay hasn't recovered from this."
[9.0] "Great match between two great workers that gets a great reaction from the crowd, makes sense and is worked extremely well. MJF is actually incredible, and his dedication to wrestling his ass off sometimes baffles me. Fantastic false finishes and counterwork of Switchblade, even with a very subpar storyline these two deliver a total banger. Booking did not ruin this in the slightest, and the crowd in the building will let you hear that loud and clear. Watch it for yourself, it's a great match."
"MJF vs Jay felt off from the start. The pacing was awkward, with MJF slowing everything down too much and Jay struggling to find a rhythm. Spots didn't flow naturally, and the timing felt messy, making big moments lose impact. MJF's usual mind games weren't clever this time, just annoying, and Jay's comebacks felt forced rather than earned. The crowd seemed unsure when to react, and near falls didn't land because the match dragged. It ended with a sloppy finish that didn't feel satisfying. Overall, it felt like both wrestlers were out of sync, making the match frustrating instead of exciting."
[2.0] "[2.2] I previously had this as a 3.9, and in retrospect, I gave it too much credit. I still hold that some of the stuff is cool in complete isolation (i.e. i'd like the cutter spot if it was in a completely different match, ) but it's not enough to make up for the overbooked, hoganesque bullshit that is the majority of this match. This match plus the context of Max's injury angle that ran through the rest of the show mainly ended up just serving to make Jay White look like a complete chump who was unable to beat a man on one good leg, to the point that even two years on he has yet to recover from how hard it derailed him. Also kind of a good example of one of my biggest issues with Max, which is just his tendency to overcomplicate everything to its detriment. The only reason it's not the weakest AEW PPV main event is because there's no way to out-stink 2025 Adam Copeland."
[5.0] "If you watch this match with 0 context it's actually pretty good, it's just the entire build up to it was ass and didn't really connect to the match at all. it's the best example of MJF overthinking on his work, something he does far too often."
[1.0] "Yeah, this one is rightly despised. Unlike other MJF matches that I think are bad (the iron man with Danielson, the main event of All In against Adam Cole), this one didn't enrage me. I think it is a combination of knowing what the stick is going to be (insincere babyfaces are the worst possible thing, and Max exudes fakeness) and the expectations being fairly low (some really liked the Danielson match and even the Cole match, even if I could not disagree more). As a result I was just bored looking at this. Yes, it is abysmal in concept and neither man seem to have the chops to pull of this ludicrous match scenario, but then you go to the execution of it and it somehow gets worse (more interesting also). Max just has his babyface instincts all out of place. He rushes the moments he could milk, he milks the moments he should avoid. And White is just not vicious enough as a heel. I get it, he is put on a though spot. He has to work over the leg, but also make it plausible that MJF can come back. But his lack of aggression makes him seem like a chump. You combine that with over the top selling (that doesn't deter Max from hitting any move) and you end up with a pantomime where not the heel, but the spectator is the but of the joke. Truly amazing stuff to pull off."
[0.0] "Dude, this match just pissed me off for so many reason. The first was the amount of Times Jay threw MJF out of the ring just for the Gunna to attack him, I mean that was annoying and repetitive. Don't care if he got offense, it was pointless and a waste of time. Second, if MJF was really hurt, then why was he doing shit that he shouldn't be doing? If people say he was just powering up, literally shut up, he shouldn't be running over the top rope and hitting a cutter to the floor. Also, why would he hit a flying elbow to the floor? You have a bad fucking knee, why do that? The last thing was it going 29 minutes. 29 fucking minutes? For this shit? Are you actually kidding me? If MJF was healthy, fine, but with an injured MJF, absolutely not. If there was a time to take the title off MJF, this should've been the moment to do it, Jay White should've won here, but nope, MJF retained. I will say those chops from Jay White to MJF were brutal and the highlight of the match, yeah, chops are the highlights for me for this match. Let that sink in, if stiff chops are the only thing I liked from this match, you know something is wrong."
[5.0] "As much as they tried, and they really tried with some great spots and chemistry. But it's not enough to remove the bad taste of a match like this. MJF surely sold really well, as I'm one to think that matches that revolves around injuries and these are not simply forgotten mid match never to be a problem again until the end. But the way the win happened, not only by a guy wrestling in a single leg, but the over-the-top situations of Adam Cole almost helping Jay White twice, just too forced."
[7.0] "I think the injury angle and very hammy acting, with Adam Cole claiming he'd wrestle the match on MJF's behalf, when he is literally injured himself (and for real, not just kayfabe) was all a bit silly, but the match itself was good enough in my opinion. I enjoyed it, but do think the injury angle could have been done better."
[5.0] "The booking was bad, yeah, no argument there! the injury was not needed, this feud did not need anything else to be honest! it was the definition of overbooking! the booking aside, i think they did a great job in the ring! MJF elbow drop to outside! or that Cutter from the ring to the outside was really amazing! good match, though it came at the cost of Jay! i mean the guy just lost to a cripple!"
[6.0] "I think the events around this match comprise the worst booking decision in AEW history. Jay White spent the month leading up to this match eating MJF alive on the mic and being a perfect charismatic heel. It makes him look so bad to lose to a one-legged man. That being said, I can't deny that the in-ring work in this match is pretty good. MJF sells his knee as well as you could want, and Jay White spends most of the match finding ways to manipulate that knee. MJF's cutter over the ropes is the highlight of the match. I don't know if my rating would be significantly higher if they hadn't done the whole injury angle since my rating is mostly for MJF's selling. If they're both going at full strength without the injury, it probably ends up a 7 or 8. I firmly hope that Jay White has it in writing that he wins the World Championship in 2025 as a reward for doing the job here."
[3.0] "Jay White was booked very strongly leading into this match, but this absolutely killed his momentum. The super-MJF storyline with him coming back from hospital to win the match, coupled with the cheesy Adam Cole friendship storyline was very over the top. The match itself was slow with MJF selling an injury and Jay White's slow, heel style. This could have been a great match but the crazy booking ruined it."
[8.0] "For sure a pretty weird and even contradictory match. How is it possible that MJF could be replaced By cole when he is also injured? and even worse, how can MJF survive more than 30 minutes and win this match at the end. With this said, I really loved the action, spots and the ened. MJF was not of my favorites of AEW, but he has slowly became a great wrestler to admire. Good match. [****]"
[2.0] "The injury angle that the PPV had been built around completely tanked this match. Entirely unbelievable that an injured MJF could go for half an hour, so the match is completely broken from the start. The shenanigans before this match also made absolutely no sense, and the match itself was so sports entertainment. Occasional moments of good work and psychology (that cutter over the rope basically got this all the stars) but those are very few and far between, with a lot of the spots looking overly choreographed. Overbooked nonsense."
[6.0] "Slow paced and a little long, but still a good match with some awesome spots. A sports entertainment match that I would've liked to see hit a little harder than it did, but with one guy going into the match with a work injury, you can expect the match to be a little slow."
[0.0] "After watching that abysmal match at DoN between mox and Takeshita I had to revisit this damned match just to see which one I despise more and by God this one takes the cake by a f*ck! NG mile. Who was this for? Why was it structured the way it was when neither of the two participants weren't dealing with any injuries coming into this bout? I absolutely hate everything about this match with a damn passion from the mjf's mustard coloured gear which I can only assume was inspired by none other than the hulkster himself, the bad pre show angle, the sheer stupidity of Adam Cole being allowed to be mjf's replacement when he has a broken leg and mjf being stopped when he comes back in the ambulance later on like wtf? They allowed a one legged man replace another one legged man but somehow we're refusing to allow the original one legged man from replacing his replacement, which genius thought any of that bs was a good idea! ? As if all of the pre match fuckery wasn't bad enough they somehow also had the genius idea of having Jay freaking white have a 30 minute back and forth epic with a guy who can barely walk and still somehow couldn't win in the end. Some people excused this shit by saying that this wasn't a burial because mjf had a tainted win because he used the dynamite dozen ring to knockout Jay to win which is complete bs imo, the fact that the match that the match went as long as it did with Jay still not picking up the win in the end makes this a proper BURIAL. I really hope that Jay somehow bounces back from this and win the world title at either full gear or world's end because his Aew run thus far has been awful and he has been done a deservice and as for MJF this match along with what came after it completely soured me on him. Edit:This match is perhaps the ultimate cautionary tale as to why promoters should never pander to the egos of wrestlers, knowing what we know now after seeing the past year of mjf's run after his return at DoN a few months ago I can say without a shred of a doubt this match was put together by MJF with Jay white going along with it so as to avoid any friction, no one other than MJF would've thought that running a dumb angle of replacing an injured wrestler with a legit injured wrestler only for the heel to lose despite all of the odds being in his favour in kayfabe. I've seen people claim that this is a hidden gem, that it's something a new generation of wrestling fans will think of as a hidden gem but that's just total crap there is no world that this match will age well perhaps in a vacuum it may come of as amusing but I refuse to believe that anybody will look at this and think it's some genius masterclass in wrestling storytelling, I believe that this match along with the Billy gunn match from earlier this year will go down in history as the matches that all parties involved especially Jay white will be most ashamed of."
[0.0] "The Lead-up - The leadup to this match was great from Jay's side, but terrible from MJF's. This layered with the Devil story, along with MJF's wayyy too over the top dorky face gimmick really brought down what had a lot of great elements to the lead up. ------------- The Match/Event - What a disaster of a booking. This was by far the worst booked match of the year for me. From the injury in the pre-show to MJF and leaving in an ambulance, to MJF somehow beating a former NJPW World Champ with a litany of injuries, Everyone involved, especially Tony Khan, should be ashamed. We were robbed of what should have been an excellent match, and a match that potentially laid threads for future clashes, as both should be in the World Title picture for AEW for the next few years. Instead, we got a match that was genuinely bad, and left no one wanting to see anything further from them."
[0.0] "I came back to this match almost a year later to say this was pure garbage and almost killed the territory. Hindsight is 20/20 and this MJF title run was at best subpar sports entertainment crap with a few exceptions here and there. AEW always resembles its world champion in terms of tone, hence the darkness and violence in the midst of this Mox run. MJF's AEW was hokey and phony and everything the promotion promised it won't be, it's getting better now but still hasn't fully recovered from those god forsaken days. DUD"
[0.0] "Probably one of the weirdest matches I've ever seen in my life... MJF leaves in an ambulance because he's injured and he's replaced by Adam Cole who has a broken ankle, where's the logic in that? Then we have MJF coming back, what exactly did he expect with his comeback segment? No idea. They do their fight, MJF sells his injury well until he jumps over the third rope taking a crazy lean on his leg which is supposed to be injured, again where's the logic? Making such a fuss about that leg only to do this? Anyway, the match goes on and you think that Jay White is built like a strong man, so he'll logically win because MJF is in such bad shape, it's time to end his reign, isn't it? Well no, in the end MJF wins the match, admittedly he doesn't win it clean, but he wins it all the same, and that's a load of rubbish when it comes to booking. The worst thing is that they did all that only to have MJF lose a month later, what's the point? Fortunately, it's now 2024 and Jay White isn't dead, hallelujah."
[1.0] "This is one of the most illogical matches Ive ever seen & they made White look fucking terrible throughout this entire thing, dude was struggling for 30 mins with a one legged MJF & not only struggled, lost pretty decidedly, genuinely pathetic booking. MJF deciding to sell the knee when he feels like it & then doing random illogical spots he shouldnt be able to do while selling that injury got to a point of a joke during this shit. Also what the hell was the spot with White hitting MJF with the belt, what happened to the ref? Whole story based around a knee injury & the dude cant even sell it properly. We didnt see anything happen to him yet he was selling something to his head, nothing from the commentators on it either. From start to finish, with this being advertised as Cole vs White from the beginning & then changed, this was just terrible & all over the place, garbage & illogical, one of aews worst ppv main events ever."
[8.0] "Yeah the more I think about it, and the more I remember my time at Full Gear, I just cannot in my heart give this a 3. I had the time of my life watching this match and the crowd as a whole were so into this. Yes, this make Jay White look like a chump and a loser. Yes, this booking of Adam Cole who has a worse injury than MJF into this match makes no sense. But I had fun watching this match and that is all that matters to me. This absolutely could have and should have been better, but when I just go back in my mind to me and my dad dancing at the end of this match to MJF's music, I just can't hate on it. This would absolutely be getting a 10 if the flaws weren't huge but from a personal stand point, I adore this match."
[0.0] "This is one of my least favorite matches of all time, and that hurts to say as a big Jay White guy, from the overbooked mess leading up to it, to MJF leaping over the top rope to do cutters to the outside despite his leg "supposedly" being minced garlic, like I'm far from a psychology-head but my god it is just so awful here that it's impossible to ignore or suspend disbelief, I don't think there was anything about this I liked ESPECIALLY considering how much it negatively impacted Jay White for months and months to come... 0/10."
[6.0] "I feel like I'm a lot more forgiving of this match than most people. It was a very old school match where the valiant babyface digs down deep to overcome the odds and beat the bad guy. The problem is, Jay White is too cool of a bad guy and MJF is too good of a bad guy. They story of MJF overcoming an injury played to neither man's strengths. They're both skilled enough to overcome that flaw and still put on a good match but didn't come close to greatness."
[2.0] "Im going back and putting rating in for all the aew ppvs ive watched and man.. this match is so bad. Its not like its the worst match ever, but for a ppv main event this is horrible. The injury angle completely derailed this and MJF winning on one foot and doing all the stuff he did with the severely injured leg really upset me. Thankfully we got swerve/hanger on this card to make up for it"
[8.0] "This match has been severely critisized because of the angles with MJF and Adam Cole. But without that and without bad faith, it's still a very good match with a lot of drama and great spots. If people are offended by a wrestler fighting through an injury they should stop watching a discipline when you have a zombie fighting a psycopath escaped from jail."
[4.0] "Wow, hard match to rate. I liked the early booking if it was actually leading to Adam Cole fighting or even a triple threat match, but Max getting injured only to comeback later in an ambulance an winning the match it's a just a massive overbooking that wasn't needed at all and just hurts Jay White's credibility and momentum. I mean, if I knew it was leading to that a normal wrestling match would be a lot better. The wrestling wasn't phenomenal, but it was average, definitely not terrible... boring at times, and it had cool moments like that third rope cutter by Maxwell. Also the crowd was into it and of course it had a lot of storytelling. Overall I consider this a failed try to do some cinematic stuff, in my opinion this match suffered with an overthinking, because sometimes the simple and basics are better than a bad idea. I was hoping for some devil reveal or appearance but the match didn't delivered this too. The word is disappointment - {*3/4}"
[0.0] "[DUD] This was by far the worst main event of the year in AEW. And it is indeed BY FAR because I gave every other one from 8/10 to 10/10. Man, the action itself was not even that bad, we got some good spots on this, the crowd was loud for Max, but I just can not understand this booking. Jay White was just completely buried there, lol. I mean, it is not even funny, Rest In Peace Switchblade. He literally lost to a guy who wrestled on the pre-show, got attacked, left the building on an AMBULANCE, came back completely injured, then got attacked again by the Gunns, kicked out of a belt to the face, completely Hulked Up and won. This is like INSANE man. The best stable on the company is dead holy shit lmfao. Max had the best main event of the year on Revolution being a wrestler and now got the worst being the Ultimate Warrior. Just embarrassing all around. I do not know why Max can not just wrestle, lol. He is awesome at it. This WWF shit would probably kill AEW long-term wise. OBS: The in-ring action was not even bad, the flying cutter, avalanche uranage and elbow drop to the ringside were great, but the meaning of this match is 0/10, because it is the synthesis of the world champion admiring Hulk Hogans ability to get over. At least Swerve vs Hanger was an all-timer"
[0.0] "Jay White seemed like the perfect guy to dethrone MJF of the AEW World Title, but MJF was hurt with a bad leg from competing in the pre show, was put in an ambulance and trusted Adam Cole who was injured to defend the title for him. The main event happens and it was revealed that MJF stole the ambulance to compete and took a half hour to beat Jay with one leg, making Jay looked so weak. This match could've been incredible, but was demoted to really stupid and badly aged sports entertainment, the worst thing about MJF's reign as AEW World Champion and this would end up being the start of AEW failing Jay White as a top star in the company."
[2.0] "MJF slid from one of the hottest young stars on the planet to quickly being one of my personal least favourites from this performance, and everything he did afterwards. Jay White tries, but the way he wrestles isn't meant to support both workers. It works best when he doesn't have to carry around an injury ridden schtick-merchant. Genuinely, all time terrible singular performance from Max. Overbooked, what with Max being carted away after a tag team championship defence (because heaven forbid babyface MJF suffers even a single setback), and not even sold in an interesting manner. After about 15 minutes of selling and being picked apart by a slow, checked out Jay White, Max forgets about the selling, comes back with stupid as fuck spots that only injure him even further than he already was. Embarrassing on a level of Ibushi at NOAH in 2024, Jericho at Dynasty this year, and the many post wrestlemania 31 stinkers the Undertaker had."
[6.0] "Preface: I'm NOT saying MJF is the second coming of Stone Cold Steve Austin here. What I am saying is there were plenty of instances where Austin, or anyone else during the late 90's, was taken away in an ambulance and came back. Specifically the 1999 Royal Rumble where Austin strolls back in and still loses. By the end of this match the crowd was hooked. Watching this live and a second time for this review and I still don't like the way they booked this. The match isn't nearly as bad as the rating would lead you to believe but to each their own. Once the shenanigans are over with it's a competently performed match but well below what these two are capable of."
[7.0] "i have to respect the sign that some fan brought where it said that the internet wrestling community sucks, I feel like the sign is right. seriously, the emotions were all over the place with some near finishes at the end where the crowd was going nuts (including me), honestly thought that Jay was going to win at some points, but I cheered hard as hell when MJF won. it wasn't necessarily a new classic, but it tells a great story, even if it doesn't have the most amazing in ring action"
[0.0] "When I first rated this match, I gave it an 8. It turns out, I am fucking stupid. This is fucking awwwwwwful looking back on it. First of all the booking of this is simply just unforgivably stupid. MJF gets his leg injured on the pre show and is literally carted out of the arena in an ambulance. Then later in the show, it is determined that Adam Cole, who has a legitimate shattered ankle mind you and can barely walk, will be taking MJF's place in the main event. Huh? This is genuinely like Russo tier shitty booking, it's so fucking bad on so many levels. Then the match starts. Jay White makes his entrance, and then Cole makes his entrance, literally hobbling down the ramp on crutches. But lo and behold, MJF returns to the arena in the same ambulance that he was taken out in. What is going on? How was he able to operate an ambulance with a leg that was supposedly so fucked up that he had to be taken to hospital? But that's not even the worst part. Max then proceeds to wrestle a 30 MINUTE MATCH with a leg that is seemingly half broken. And he fucking WINS! ? . Jay literally targets his leg throughout the whole match, locking him in submissions for minutes on end, and attacking it at every opportunity, even getting help from the Gunns and hitting Max with a belt shot, but Max still wins. It also doesn't help that Max's selling of his leg is absolutely atrocious throughout the entire match. There's points where he completely disregards the fact that his leg is literally supposed to be injured and just hits these insane moves as if his leg is complete fine. The cutter over the ropes would have been a cool spot in any other context but here it's so fucking bad because Max shouldn't even be able to physically do it. As for Jay, I still don't think he's fully recovered from this. He hasn't looked like a viable main eventer ever since this match, and right now is stuck in the lower card trios division and has mostly been relegated to pre show matches on PPVs. It also doesn't help that he had an equally shitty match with Billy Gunn not too long ago which also made him out to look like the most useless wrestler alive. It's actually a miracle that he hasn't just walked out of the company because his booking has been so bad basically since he debuted. Overall, this is probably one of the worst matches I've ever seen. It's crazy how I've said that about two Jay White AEW matches now. Awful on every possible level, with quite literally zero redeeming qualities."
[9.0] "This time, I don't just disagree with the assessment, I strongly disagree. Judging by the information bubble I was in, people didn't like that MJF was playing up the injury. But in my opinion, this is not the first time something like this is used in wrestling, and there is nothing wrong with it. In addition, MJF was at the stage of consolidating itself in the role of a good guy, and in this way I wanted to root for him even more. That moment aside, it was a great fight with great moves and moments where you think it's the end of the match and it just keeps going. Therefore, I will defend the match as much as possible and give it a high score."
[0.0] "This may be the biggest burial in the history of this company and how anyone is rating this match above a 0 for the damage it did to the reputations of all involved is beyond me. Maybe one day jay white will get in the main event again but with ospreay and omega here that looks like an impossible dream. The hoops that people jumped through to defend this match is also a joke And the payoff we got somehow made this even worse as we had some people claiming that everyone should let this play out. Marred the whole show sadly"
[7.0] "This is easily one of the most overhated matches I've ever seen. The suspense with Cole was obvious but at least worked to sell their dynamic with Adam acting as if he was about to take a major risk for MJF while essentially throwing an already-injured Friedman into a match with one of the most underhanded guys in the company to weaken him even further. The match itself was overall solid, especially considering MJF was working through a legitimate injury that White did an excellent job playing up. MJF resorting to cheating to win in the state that he's in made a lot more sense than him going over clean and served to show that even as a face he'll never stop being a heel deep down. On paper a match between these two should have been better, but it could have been much, much worse considering what they had to work with and played well into MJF's overarching storyline."

Jay White is too good for this and this was the end of MJF's reigns good moments."

[6.0] "The entire suspense of Adam Cole taking MJF's place was unnecessary, I'm fine with the injury angle but don't pretend that a guy who's literally on crutches is about to wrestle a main event in place of the world champion. As for the actual match, most people seem to have an issue with MJF's near superman level booking to win the match, but him needing to cheat to win somewhat mitigates that for me."
[7.0] "Honestly I thought it was pretty good. I may be biased cause I was there live and enjoyed it but I can see where other people are coming from. It's kinda funny seeing people get mad over MJFs selling but I can see past it and just admit it was a good match. I do think it kinda took away from Jay White cause they made him look weak/stupid."
