[7.0] "This was better than most Jericho matches I've seen these days but that's not saying a lot. Takeshita did most of the work but it's not like Jericho didn't take some big bumps. The brain buster on the floor was really well executed. Although the right person didn't go over I know from future matches that it makes a little sense. He needed the win in the US to make his name there. It just was weird all the punishment Jericho took from the knees strikes at the end there to not have Takeshita win. Jericho can still be entertaining when he's not so extra."
[6.0] "Much like Jericho's match with Ospreay earlier this year, he gave it all he had for a good match. I'll give him credit it there. There's some sloppiness of Jericho's end, and him and Takeshita had some spotty moments alongside some pretty good ones, but Jericho's been doing this so long, and considering his work when he's on autopilot nowadays, I'll gladly take a few awkward looking moments here and there. Credit Takeshita too, as like Ospreay, does the heavy carrying throughout the match. What really didn't sit well with me was Takeshita losing. Especially on DDT soil. He was the ace, generally dominant in all his big matches there, so a past his prime Jericho going over him was a stupid decision. 3 Stars."
[8.0] "Very solid match, Jericho can still bring good physicality and great storytelling at his age. Physical, good pace, good story. I think some people are frustrated because Takeshita has shown to be capable of so much more, but this was the right match for its spot on the card."
[6.0] "Credit to Jericho for taking that Avalanche Blue Thunder Bomb, even if it wasn't perfect, but the match overall was kind of a bore. Outside of that one big spot, not much happened here tbh. I don't have a problem with the result, but Jericho just eating all of Takeshita's offence, before locking in The Walls out of nowhere and not even having to use the Liontamer, was a flat finish."
[6.0] "I didn't like this one very much. First of all, they spent too much time on the floor. Second, there were some very visible botches during the match. Also, what are they doing booking Jericho over Takeshita? It makes no sense. I am not even a fan of Konosuke, but the young guy should beat the veteran in a situation like this, right?"
[7.0] "Match was all-action, but also a total jumble with major moves landing at random times and leading nowhere in particular. It got more coherent towards the end and then Jericho got to play full-on superhuman absorbing an absolute barrage of finisher level bombs before casually locking in the death hold ***1/2"
[8.0] "Great match: the crowd was into it, both men delivered nice perfomances and the action was hard-hitting and intense with lots of cool sequences and big moves. The avalanche blue thunder bomb and the leaping clothesline countered into a codebreaker were my favorite moments. This is by far the best Jericho has looked in 2023, it's true that Japan always brings the best out of wrestlers. Takeshita, like I said many times before, is the most fun to watch wrestler in the world right now. Great match, I don't even mind Jericho winning. 8/10 - 4.25*/5*"
[9.0] "Probably my favorite Chris Jericho match of 2023, I do need to rewatch him vs. Ospreay at All In 2023. But I really liked this match, Jericho moved pretty fluidly and Takeshita's move set is really good, this match sold me on him as being a strong member of the AEW roster. Chris Jericho has had a pretty meh 2023, his match against Starks at Revolution was solid, and his match against Cole at DON was complete dog. But the second have of 2023 has really turned around for Jericho."
[7.0] "Even if I ignore that Jericho has absolutely no business tapping out Takeshita, especially when Konosuke is supposed to be feuding with Omega, the finish of this match was still lame. Konosuke hit Chris with three running knees, only for Jericho immediately recover and put on the Boston crab without much trouble. The rest of the match was great, as they worked around Jericho's mobility limitations with expertise, and Takeshita's explosive offense kept things exciting. ***3/4"
[5.0] "This was... alright? The avalanche Blue Thunder Bomb was cool and that was about my biggest takeaway from 20+ minutes of action. There's not a lot you could do to grip me with a Jericho match in 2023, even against Take. It didn't help matters that a solid face/heel dynamic wasn't fully present because it's a "dream match" and those apparently don't need one. Throw in a dumb 50/50 booking result where apparently the Jericho who gets rolled by midcarders on Dynamites nowadays can tap out the Takeshita who beat Kenny Omega three times in a row and yeah, this didn't move me. (**3/4)"
[7.0] "7.5 - Initially felt reminiscent of Jericho vs Ospreay from All In. Jericho took on one of the greatest, young main-eventers there is, and both had to adapt to create a match that felt big, but was never going to hit the MOTY lists. Full respect to Jericho for the bumps he took."
[7.0] "One of the best performances from Chris Jericho since years and this was a great fight with good storytelling. Chris Jericho was facing one of Don Callis' disciple and the one who is nicknamed "The Alpha" like Chris Jericho, this was a battle between the two alphas. Jericho was agressive given what Takeshita did to him, he wanted to make him pay by humiliating him in the worst way by attempting to make Takeshita tap. There was some great spots like Takeshita's Avalanche Blue Thunder Bomb and Jericho's Codebreaker to counter Takeshita's Jumping Lariat. Not the biggest fan of the ending but let's see where the story will go, hope Takeshita will avenge his loss - ***3/4"
[9.0] "People, I missed this Jericho. It was since a very long time I didn't same such a good match that involved him. A lot of good stricking and Chris took such punishment that he looked like a teenager, some of the bumps were mad and yes, this is really a Dramatic Dream. Raw nut very modern in terms of athleticism at the same time. ****1/2"
[9.0] "No, I'm not huge on the finish either, but you can't lie and say Jericho didn't give Takeshita a lot here. I mean, he lets Take eat a Judas Effect basically unaffected, lets him his his crisp looking Jumping Knees, and this guy in his 50s took a fucking top rope Blue Thunder Bomb right on his hip. Don't let AEW's story shortcomings get in the way; this was an awesome match, showing why Jericho is the GOAT and why Take is a top ten wrestler on the entire planet right now."
[8.0] "as much as i would prefer not to see jericho on my screen in 2023, he can still go when he needs to. I cant say i understand why he had to go over Take here, but good match nonetheless"
[8.0] "Jericho really does know how to turn it up when he feels motivated. This was really physical as expected. Takeshita's feats of strength are always something to be in awe of. Even Jericho was did an outside dive that looked great for someone like him. Would not be surprised if they run this back in AEW soon."
[9.0] "Jericho's best singles match in a long time, even better than the one with Ospreay. Japan always brings out the best in wrestlers. The crowd loved themselves some Y2J and even sang Judas, which I didn't expect. Takeshita was great as a heel, even though he's the homegrown guy. His Tope and top rope Blue Thunder Bomb looked amazing in this match and the kickout at one popped me. I was surprised that he lost, but if the plan is for him to beat Jericho on AEW's bigger stage, then it's not a big deal. ****1/4"
[9.0] "Well I never thought I'd see Chris Jericho in DDT, but this was a super fun match. Jericho led the way with the Tokyo Children's choir singing the way. It was also somewhat of a nice home coming for Konosuke Takeshita. Takeshita really is a big deal and will be for some time. So it's good to see him doing his stuff both side of the Atlantic. I was really surprised just how split the crowd was, I know Takeshita is full heel in AEW, and Jericho is a superstar, but, I somewhat expected the crowd to favour the home grown star What an entertaining match."
