Antonino Rocca, Verne Gagne & Wilbur Snyder vs. Dick The Bruiser, Reggie Lisowski & Stan Lisowski

[6.0] "The earliest trios tag match I've seen for sure, surprised the Chicago scene at this time was even running them. Familiar with Gagne and Bruiser here but everyone else is largely a mystery beyond recognising names such as Rocca for being the inspiration behind Inoki using the Antonio name. This is worked a lot like a modern tag actually with exception to having two refs here to try and keep order which is quite a nice touch, otherwise the heels dominate the first fall by cheating at every turn in overt and subtle ways and the babyfaces fight their way back in the second as you'd expect. Fun to watch the babyfaces work a heat segment on the heels keeping one of the Lisowski's in their corner but the crowd loves every bit of it. These matches always have a few great setpiece moments and there was a handful here like Reggie posing and getting dropkicked straight out of the ring, Dick lunging in and getting kept at bay with a foot to the face over and over by Rocca or my favourite of the match being Synder making a tag while in the middle of a giant swing, incredible bit. Rocca even uses the torture rack in the final few minutes, dubbed the Brazilian Backbreaker by Davis on comms. Sweet little finish too as Gagne and Synder both club Lisowki in the back to break a full nelson and Rocca hits a dropkick to the back sending him off the buckle and into the pin. Not my absolute favourite match from this era but another one that's more of a hit than not."

[10.0] "So damn good. Rocca was definitely the star of the match. This is the kinda match that I can openly suggest to modern fans because of the drama, the fast pace, and the comedy. It's not necessarily a comedy match. It is competitive. But still so comically entertaining. Some of the spots really did make me laugh out loud, especially when the heels would get screwed. **** 3/4"

[9.0] "In this match Antonino Argentina Rocca as always shows his crazy wrestling style for those times. The Lisowski Brothers on the other hand are great as heels. Dick the Bruiser showed some clever moves in this match. Overall it's a very good Six Man Tag Team match."

[8.0] "Great fun. Lots of fast tags which you very rarely see these days but it worked well here to keep the pace up. That's not to say it was flat out from bell to bell, but particularly for this era this was a well paced match. The Lisowski brothers in particular played the heel role well and Rocca was a ball of energy for the babyfaces, delivering about 10 dropkicks in a row at one point. The crowd enjoyed it throughout. ****1/4"

[10.0] "A great old timey wrestling match. I don't know if I can say that I've ever seen a six man two out of three falls match before but this is probably the best example of that kind of match."

[9.0] "This is a wonderful watch, especially early. The babyfaces take an electric shine, bouncing the heels around until a momentum shift allows the first fall. From there, the match's best moments come more in bursts, but those instances remain beautiful nonetheless. It's amazing how much of the physicality not only holds up, but jumps off the page today, with the match's general structure and shape remaining familiar also. At just over 40 minutes, it's a touch bloated but the raw ingredients are so refreshing, perfectly capturing wrestling's timeless recipe. Good guys vs. bad guys, and everything that formula involves. Fabulous match. ****1/4"

[9.0] "My favourite tag match of the 50's ! Some of the biggest names of the era collides in a great match, we even have Bruiser and Crusher tagging here and they work well as a heel unit. Fast pace match, always something happening in this match. Great match !"
