I like the concept of including outsiders in a pre show match with the idea of finding a hidden gem, but NJPW really need to make them look a little stronger. The segment with Leube was great but he made them look like dorks, which even if they are, it would be good to see a match that was a bit more competitive. **1/2"

"Interesting concept with the veterans facing freelance wrestlers from other companies. Seemed to flow well and you of course got the usual Toru Yano shenanigans. In my opinion no freelancer really shined but no one looked terrible either. SHO was moved from this match to the main card."

Some fun ideas and enjoyable comedy (per one's own tastes), showcase some younger talent and get the ball moving. Would have loved to see more from Masada in this match, but I already watch him regularly so I'm just being greedy."

Match is pretty standard multiman fare but still entertaining. Taguchi takes an ass whipping sequence that's pretty slick, and his exchange with Katori and his bunny was fun. Yano and all the others trying to win the Heavy metal belt off Masada afterwards was hilarious. The visiting team, most of whom I'm not familiar with, all have some pretty sweet looking gear."

In just 8 minutes everyone gets a little bit of offense in, do a little comedy with a stuffed bunny, and the crowd starts to begin to ramp to the show. And even though there's nothing overly impressive here, it holds your attention the whole time. Obviously this is skippable, but without any expectations, this is fine. I hope to see more showcases like this throughout wrestling instead of having two established roster guys waste away on the pre show. 2 Stars."

[3.0] "Just another pretty forgettable NJPW opening tag match. The 'Frontier Zone' gimmick was fairly cool, and some of the wrestlers had a pretty good showing, indicating a bright future (Takeshi Masada in particular, that guy looks like a star, he's got aura). But a soft toy bunny being one of the main players in a match just doesn't do anything for me. I guess it serves its purpose in some light comedy to warm up the crowd, but it just didn't do anything for me. If you simply must watch everything go and watch it, but if not you can skip and miss nothing. (*1/2)"
