Chase Owens vs. Tanga Loa

[2.0] "a boring match the crowd didnt care a few botches make for it being a low 2, Tanga Loa wins this one with a crossface"

[2.0] "Tanga Loa has to be the worst wrestler of 2023. He gets so many opportunities for so little he does, and this is exactly that. Chase Owens is somehow miles better to be honest, at least the C trigger and Package Driver are cool and he can move around. My heart couldn't get any less calm watching this match. well, Loa is fighting Finlay now so that match might break that record. 2/10"

[3.0] "The match that absolutely nobody asked for turned out to be just about as bad as everyone expected. Tanga Loa just doesn't have it anymore, he looks exhausted very early on and while I'm all for protecting your opponent, his offence just looks hilariously soft and comical to the point where even Kevin Kelly is making backhanded jokes about it. Delighted when Chase tapped out and we could move on. Garbage. *3/4"

[5.0] "Better than I expected it to be. Both guys gave serviceable performances. Im assuming this heralds a Tanga Loa singles run which I am not looking forward to. Testament to the New Japan roster when two of the guys who are seen as subpar workers were still able to put on an acceptable little singles match."

[2.0] "This was painful. I feel for Tanga. He is just very off his stride since returning from his knee injury. He botches the 619 and moves gingerly, almost trepidatious the whole match. His striking/chopping flurry continues to be some of the worst looking offense possible, he should stop that immediately and pivot to something different. Chase tries here, and gives a decent effort, but Tanga just doesn't have it anymore I fear."

[6.0] "It was a rather cool match. Far to be a banger, far to be memorable, but that was not a torture or even a bad match or whatever in my opinion. Owens and Loa are not good wrestlers, but they are quite entertaining and it's enough to propose a rather nice match and what we can expect from the second match of a show."

[6.0] "Looking at the averages this should be pure bullshit so it's strange I actually think this was normal. It's Owens vs Loa - they 'll never a 5* match together - but at the end of the day this wasn't such terrible and most important finally it's over, I needed it. ***"

[6.0] "This is a normal match, the only thing that is really strange are the new horrible open hands strinkings of Tanga Loa. Chase is in normal mode since a long time but not that bad really. This match was on the card to make every member of GoD and Bullet Club fight in the show, cant make of this match a big deal."

[4.0] "Two guys who get far too much unfair criticism as far as I am concerned, great match? no, good match? probably not, 2/10 match? very harsh in my opinion. Match was a filler on a fairly modest card, the guys did what they could, not convinced either are anywhere near 100%"

"Who would've guessed that a one-on-one match between the two guys who always eat the pin in every tag match of their respective factions wouldn't be very good? Seriously, why did Gedo think these two deserved to have a match on one of their big shows?"

[2.0] "8 minutes is enough. Especially to see Tanga Loa trying to wrestle while he misses a 619 from the beginning. We will not talk about his moves that are badly worn, we do not feel any intensity. Chase Owens is doing what he can as usual but were clearly not on the two biggest wrestlers in the federation. A match not to be remembered. Except for the fact that for a 4-hour show, it is not the only game that dampens enthusiasm. We still thank the wrestlers for making the match (hoping to finish BC vs GOD)."

[2.0] "Not quite sure why this match needed to happen, both men have their purposes on the card, but a singles match against one another isn't that. It wasn't the worst thing you'll ever see, but it felt like something more fitting to a road show not a larger show with plenty of singles matches already."

[2.0] "It's a Chase Owens and Tanga Loa match. Probably about as good as it ever was going to be in 8 minutes. The rushed ending, and a couple of sloppy moments, among other problems. At least the crowd responded to a few things. Please end this type of GOD and BC business. 1 Star."

[2.0] "I almost feel like this was a rib on Gedo's part putting this match on this card. Tanga Loa's best days are certainly behind him and he gets increasingly worse, as he constantly seems like he's phoning in his performances. He works much better as a tag team guy. Chase was actually doing quite alright here, but Tanga taking off his bandana certainly didn't help him."

[2.0] "Tanga Loa was looking okay before his injury. Now that he's returned he's clearly lost a step and doesn't put much effort in. There are a few moves that he probably shouldn't do anymore, as evidenced by the botched 619. He could probably still work a decent match if the opponent was right. Chase Owens will never be that opponent. As such, the only thing this match had going for it was that it wasn't any longer."
