[5.0] "I wanted to watch some of the notable Briscoes matches and this one always comes up on internet lists. It got a ****1/4 from Big Dave Meltzer as well, so I figured I'd check it out. I just could not connect to it. I really wanted to love it, I swear. It was a Bucks match through and through, but not a motivated one. It felt like they were constantly waiting for the Briscoes to be perfectly aligned for whatever they were trying to do with the Briscoes barely getting in any real offense and then finally losing to a comical number of superkicks. I don't even dislike the Bucks - they introduced me to that style of wrestling when I first watched them at the inagural Double or Nothing. It just felt unfairly like a Bucks match when a fusion match would've been much better. FTR gave the Workhorsemen more of a spotlight in their Collision match than the Bucks gave the Briscoes here, which shouldn't be the case considering the length of both matches and the caliber of the Briscoes. I wonder what happened to change Meltzer's mind on tag wrestling. I recently watched the majority of the '86 Crockett Cup, which had matches with high star ratings like Arn & Tully vs. The Fantastics and then the Fantastics vs. The Sheepherders. Both of these matches are heel dominated and rely on the flipper underdog team overcoming the brute force against them. It's simple wrestling, but when done at the quality all three teams involved were capable of, it feels special. Heel Young Bucks, with either shit eating grins on or a melodramatic shocked face, handily defeated the bigger, badder, tougher team (even just visually) just feels like something that doesn't fundamentally work in pro wrestling. To Dave and to many others, it does. Maybe it's me. I had a lot of trouble with the mechanics of the match. It had an invisible referee who you barely noticed except for the near falls, lots of contrived spots, and very little improvisational-seeming moments, which I always find to be the Briscoes forte. I think of the Briscoes vs. The Kingdom from 2021, where it felt like both teams were magically hitting these brutal tandem attacks and counters onto each other at an increasingly faster pace, building towards the finish. The Briscoes vs. Amazing Red and AJ Styles, which could be considered a spotfest, still manages to reach this "boom / boom / boom / boom" pace and intensity that I never felt here. Cutting away from the Bucks win, barely getting any time to register the Briscoes defeat, right away to "Broken" Matt Hardy's debut video also felt...cheap? Lousy? Annoying? I also do not dislike Matt Hardy, but somehow the Briscoes ended up being the fourth most important tag team involved here behind the Bucks, the Hardys, & the frustratingly "2016 Wrestling Mark"-ish goofy commentary duo of Kevin Kelly & Steve Corino. I wish my first match of 2024 was a better one."

[7.0] "Two extremely over teams and IMO the two best teams in pro wrestling today went out and put on a fantastic match. I heard that they've had some better matches recently which if this is the worst of the 3 (this is still really good) then I can't wait to see the others."

[6.0] "Easily the least of the three Briscoes/Bucks tag matches of the past three months, this tag title match is even pretty far below the Bucks defense against Scurll/Ospreay from Leicester ("Reach for the Sky: Night 2. ) 'NastyYaffa' employed the word 'soulless, ' and that's not too far off from what I felt watching this as there was no 2nd act, perhaps no time, just lots of moves and the requisite (as it's a part of all recent Buck tags) insane kick-outs. The end did provide Corino an opportunity to turn his wailing catchphrase into something more musical, but is it really a "send-off? Is he departing ROH? Anyway, as the Bucks have just signed a multi-year contract w/ ROH, K Kelly has finally on-air officially joined the bandwagon w/ his "Thanks for the House, boys" compliment to The Bucks. Nick's gaze and the accumulated swagger mouthing "We're the best tag team in the world... these guys know it... the whole world knows it, " and then immediately knowing it's time to flash their titles in front of the S. Delaware brothers, was awesome. I was entertained, and surprised by the post-match reveal, but again, outside the atmosphere created by the H Ballroom/fans, this was not special."

[2.0] "At this point, I just really wanted this match to deliver, because I've loved some of their matches in the past, and if there was one match on this show that I could count on delivering, it would've been this one - but sadly, I thought this was very disappointing. Just soulless ROH tag action, the finish was cool though, a great send off to Steve Corino, haha. Might have been my favorite match of the night (alongside Cody/Lethal) - but it still wasn't a good one. *1/2"

[8.0] "A very strong, solid tag team match, much more exciting than their NJPW match, likely due to the ROH crowd knowing about the Briscoes and LOVING the Bucks. There's really not a lot to mention that you can't say for pretty much every standard Briscoes or ROH Bucks match, but that's hardly a bad thing. This was flat-out good tag team wrestling. The only qualms I have are some really unnecessary kickouts to make the match feel epic, but other than that it was really, really good. Solid ***3/4, leaning higher."
