[4.0] "From today's perspective, of course, this is nothing special. However, the intention behind this situation is to promote WCW to ECW fans, specifically at the Philadelphia Civic Center. And the audience in the front rows consists in part of prominent hardcore ECW fans. ECW icon Terry Funk and the occasional (by Atlanta standards) rough spot do the rest, and the result is good enough for the WCW officials. As a neutral observer, it's nothing to write home about--it's over quickly, after all--so it's not really a recommendation either."

Funk dominated most of it, busting out a couple of crazy spots like a moonsault and a failed powerbomb off the top rope onto a chair. Not sure what he was thinking on the latter, tbh. Fun match though, too bad it ended pretty quickly. ***"

They fight all around the ring area, Terry hits his Piledrivers where he's clearly the one going through the furniture with his ass and the finish is lazy. It was nice to see both these guys, but work-wise it wasn't very good."

[7.0] "Seeing WCW fans chant ECW at Funk was very amusing to see. The match was a good scrap. A brawl from the very start with the two laying into each other with some heavy shots, commentary putting over the family history between the two which was a nice touch. The ending is a bit of a downer but good match. ***½"

[9.0] "Thought this was surprisingly great, glad it made it to the matchguide. Two legends just, out of nowhere, decide to go absolutely crazy on each other, Terry Funk is especially wild in front of a rabid ECW crowd (and in Philly that's what the crowd is, no matter if this took place in WCW), including crazy attempts to piledriver Tully on chairs. Had a blast with this, even with the non-finish."
