He played his heel tactics better than anyone else. But Jerry here was great too, he was a good technician himself, he gave Savage a fight for the title, and did everything that he could to win the belt. Probably one of the biggest and most shocking moments in Randy Savage's career and in pro-wrestling. The match itself was very good and it's a hidden gem in Savage's career, and the best match Jerry Allen ever had."
[6.0] "Of course we have half the match taking place outside the ring, mainly on the far side in a dark arena with a stationary camera. I don't see the greatness in this one but it's definitely fast paced action from both men, with Savage really standing out psychologically. He is mainly in control until the upset is finally finished, as Savage will be as he's heading up north."
[10.0] "This match was very very good. The biggest win and upset in Jerry Allen's career. Not too many wrestlers can say that they beat a WWF/WWE champion cleanly in their careers. This was a huge accomplishment for Jerry as the AWA southern heavyweight title holds a lot of prestige to it. Watch this match and just see how very talented both men were. It's sad that Allen or Oske didn't get the big break in the bigger promotions. Dude was very underrated and it was sad that he passed away back in 1995."
