Real confusing moment in the match is pentagon going over to vampiro and having a moment not sure why that happened but this match is awesome. 3.75 stars. |

It was all action, with some nice spots and Pentagon Dark laying in some nice kicks on Rey Mysterio. The finish had Pentagon confront Vampiro, his master and the man he attacked at the end of Ultima Lucha Dos, which distracted him long enough for Mysterio to take advantage and win the match. ***3/4 |

It was a bit of a spot fest, I admit, but I was suckered in due to my great respect for Mysterio and the fact that Pentagon had become one of my absolute favorite wrestlers in Lucha Underground. Every move felt like it could end the match, and Mysterio sold like death. We also saw the ego of Pentagon shine through in his pin covers, which the commentary team brilliantly highlighted as a story of the match. I wanted to go 4 stars here, but I think it was just missing a little something and instead gets 3. 75 stars and a 7. 5 out of 10 rating. |

These guys pulled out most-of-the-stops including how Rey slide-splashes without the assistance of a Slip & Slide, Pentagon pulling out a tight 'Made in Japan, ' etc. Perhaps a reason this match felt more crisp/precise than the 16 minute Rey/Puma encounter was that they were literally fresher after a more condensed shooting schedule prior to Ultima Lucha Dos. But this is all speculation; indeed what brings this down to a 7. 5, that I am rounding up, was P being distracted (35 seconds, not 60 'Glover, ') by commentator Vampiro. Personally I feel that a cocksure heel wouldn't have behaved so frivolously, but I'm not dead-set on this opinion. Anyway, as 'NastyYaffa' says he suspected, they indeed worked well together. |
