This match was a great technical and stricking battle, easily one of the best matches of Marty Scurll's PROGRESS reign as champion. 4.5 stars. |

| 27 | 17.03.2022 | Kas | 7.0 | Scurll's performance was... fine. On a mechanical level, he did a really good job at controlling the match and focusing his attack on the arm of Hero, but his character work was fairly boring and one-note. Hero was a lot better - he sold Scurll's arm work well enough, and his attitude going from cocky to overwhelmed to defiant in quick fashion was great. Ultimately this ends up being a bit of a frustrating match, because there are moments of greatness here, but the length and pacing hurt it in a big way. (***1/2) |

The match was very heated throughout and had some exceptional storytelling. Hero treating this like a normal match, not taking Scurll serious until Scurll slapped him and beat the shit out of his arm. Hero's elbows were brutal. Marty's arm work was nasty but amazing. Although Hero no sold a gotch pile driver which I didn't like. Other then that, awesome match. ****1/2 |

| 40 | 05.03.2020 | BDD | 10.0 | The best Scurll match I've ever seen, his character fit perfectly into the match narrative, which is hard to see in his matchs, his work on Hero's arm was cruel, and he was great working on top, Hero it was also great, he was an amazing babyface working from below, and his selling was impeccable, one of the best matchs in the history of PROGRESS. **** 3/4 |

| 51 | 02.11.2017 | Dragon Fighter | 10.0 | This is fucking awesome. This is what a world title match should be. Super heated match. Marty's arm work was really good. And hero's comeback was awesome, too. Both guys traded back and forth elbows, knees, chops, kicks, boots, which was great. The crowd was totally behind hero and went nut after he no sold marty's superkick. The match itself even had fighting spirit/japanese strong style. Despite losing, hero got big ovation from the crowd. Post match promo was fantastic. And this is the best match i have ever seen from marty, also the best one in progress history. |

**** 1/2 (3) |

| 56 | 21.04.2017 | seriousbusiness | 10.0 | As great of a promotion Progress is, this match is the closest to "Strong Style" that I have seen in this promotion. The crowd was on fire for this match as Hero was the literal "hero" in this story while Marty played the heelish "villain", the story perfectly just writes itself. The excellent storytelling starts off very quickly in this match as Hero tries to play the big bully in the match by shooting down all of Scurll's physical offense in the first few minutes. This would prove to be a mistake as Scurll uses excellent psychology in attacking Hero's left arm to gain some much needed momentum. Now Scurll would be the one in control continuously attacking not just the arm, but also the legs of Hero, who sold the limb work amazingly. Eventually Hero makes his great comeback and starts barraging Scurll with a flurry of elbows, fists and kicks to the poor face of Scurll, but it's still not enough to make the champ go down. The final sequence and minutes of this match are the closest thing to Puroresu wrestling that I have seen in this promotion as Hero takes another vicious limb attack from Scurll, who in turn retaliates back with the no selling style of "fighting spirit. As it looked like Hero had it in the bag towards the end, he took a big risk with a failed Moonsault which led Scurll to take advantage of a situation and knock Hero out. Arguably the best match in Progress history, ****3/4. |

Outstanding storytelling with Hero not taking Scurll seriously in the opening moments of the match, so Scurll wanted to make him pay for that with his vicious looking arm work. Marty's work on top was absolutely fantastic, and Hero was amazing as the never-say-die babyface. ****3/4 |
| 66 | 03.12.2016 | MatteoMerdok | 7.0 | I gave this match *** 1/4 stars out of five. It's not that I though that this match wasn't really entertaining, but rather that for the majority of around thirty minutes they were having a strike-fest. This led to certain spots with shocking piledrivers and chicken wing attempts, but the match was not versatile enough for me to give it a higher score. |

| 72 | 09.09.2016 | Mizzle Assault Ant | 4.0 | I don't know if I'm losing my mind or what. I came into this so hyped. The action started, and it was good! But... as the match went on... it became clear no story was emerging, not really any psychology at all, just you hit me, I hit you, see-saw back and forth... I am a huge fan of both these guys but over time I felt it started to drag. I still would have given it a good rating, but it started to get truly ridiculous by the end. They passed up multiple very good ending points just for the sake of cramming in the maximum number of kickouts, and easily worst of all was Hero for some god forsaken reason completely blowing off a crazy looking piledriver, in some kind of poorly considered attempt to emulate "fighting spirit" or something, but it just came off making the whole thing look like a joke. The moves themselves were often impressive and hard hitting, but taken as a whole package it's over-long to say the least and lacking in story and psychology even by the most extreme independent standards. |

The storytelling, selling and intensity were just on fire. This is a match I would HIGHLY recommend as it's the best match ever from PROGRESS as well. (*****) |
| 81 | 24.08.2016 | TrevPuroFan | 10.0 | This is surely one of the best matches of 2016. The storytelling here was on point, I loved Marty here, as he was way better than usual. He worked the arm of Hero here, and Hero did a great job selling the damage. Hero was also amazing here with his vicious looking strikes and bumping for Marty here. (****3/4) |

| 85 | 24.08.2016 | Glover | 10.0 | The best on the American indies vs the best on the UK indies for the best title on the UK indies. Chris Hero in 2016 has some of the most vicious and blunt offense of any western wrestler in over a decade, and Marty Scurll is a perfect combination of charisma and ring work. These two worked a kind of match that would've probably been considered a bit overkill if most wrestlers tried it, but the way these two doled out their strikes and holds and piledrivers, on top of the way they sold it, made it work perfectly. Yet another MOTYC in both of their resumes, as well as PROGRESS's. ****3/4 |
