[10.0] "Im a sucker for just a good hot traditional tv match with a great heel and babyface dynamic and this is just perfectly that. Such great chemistry between both teams and everyone put on a fantastic performance. I wouldnt have even minded if this went a little longer, I loved every second of this"
[9.0] "The storytelling of this match was great From the start to the end of the match, the storyline during the match. They all performed a perfect tag team match in terms of their characters, their kicks, their swings, etc. The coordination of team kicks and singles of all four wrestlers is very good and one thing is that the only thing that distinguishes Punk from the others is that he starts with a series of moves that he wants to perform to gain momentum and his ending is a very good ending as a controller character. The ending of my match was very acceptable"
[7.0] "[3.5*] This was a very good tag team match. AEW fans are so normalized to spotfests that when they watch an old-school wrestling brawl between 4 pros they think its boring. the heel work was superb, intelligent heels are cool af. perfect storytelling with Ricky winning by cheating again."
[8.0] "Incredible match very well booked and with a perfect storytelling. The setup and match were excellent, and everyone there did their job incredibly - {***3/4}"
[10.0] "It was amazing! No seriously. In general, I don't like long matches, but this was the case when I was ready to shout fight forever, I liked what I saw so much. Very interesting team chemistry between Christian and Ricky, who are weak, and they didnt have to give their all, because nothing stood for them, but they worked so well together. But their opponents also deserve praise. I haven't seen every match from Punk's last run in AEW yet, but this one is easily the best so far. His eyes [like the rest of the guys in the ring] sparkle so much. He even managed to make a Bam Bam Bigelow reference. It was clear from his face how much he enjoyed this match, and that he was really enjoying what was happening, and not just making money. It's sad that his story with the promotion ended so tragically, I hope he doesn't give up wrestling, because this match showed that he still has gunpowder in his flask [like Christian. He's mega-good, both in the promo and in the ring]. One of the best matches this year for me. ****3/4"
[8.0] "This was a strong main event for the show in which everyone looked great. Starks getting the win here was a good decision, in my opinion. Part of me wishes Cage would stop wearing the turtleneck during his matches, but I also get it for the character. I'm kind of surprised that this went for as long as it did, but I'm not complaining."
[5.0] "This was a solid match, even if a bit unnecessarily lengthy & nothing memorable whatsoever. CM Punk matches always have an infectious atmosphere to 'em, and that carries things a lot. Some fun moments with Darby being Darby & Christian rocking the lovely heel-shtick."
[7.0] "A lot of these mix & match tag team TV main events are pretty bland, but here they realised that the key to making this sort of match entertaining is found in the differing personalities all interacting with each other. Each man has very clear character traits and they all played off each other well. Even Luchasaurus at ringside was incorporated in all the right ways to make him look like a threat. They did a good job building Darby's hot tag to CM Punk, and all the action afterwards was pretty exciting, culminating in the perfect finish to continue this story. You could probably argue that it was a bit too long, but I thought it was nice that things had time to breathe. Really good TV main event."
[8.0] "Funny spot to start with the heels almost getting counted out. Good teamwork from the faces from the outset, contrasted by the incohesive nature of the heel team. Both Christian and Starks heeled it up really nice in the ring though. Darby's spots mean much more in this setting because they're smattered in occasionally rather than amongst a million others. The babyfaces did all the things babyfaces should do in tag team matches (even with Punk occasionally playing up to the boos), and the heels did all the things heels should do. Nothing groundbreaking but it was a nice throwback to all the skills that have gone missing from a lot of recent wrestling. Darby looked spectacular playing off the excellent workers in the heel team. The roll up finish on the ropes makes sense as well. A really good old school tag team match."
[8.0] "Good enough main event to progress two stories at the same time but kinda three in a roundabout way with Darby & Lucha/Chrisitan & Punk + Starks. Feel like they need to commit soon one way or another and have Punk or Ricky go full heel or face and not go the wrong way. I understand this is hard as the crowd reaction towards Punk varies from town to town but it sometimes makes a match feel awkward without a straight cut and dry heel face dynamic. Other then that I enjoyed the tag work from Darby & Punk and the match was above average as all four men are fantastic singles wrestlers as Punk works off more of the ring rust from his hiatus & injury. This is two losses in a row now for Punk so hopefully we see the direction of his character begin to develop more rapidly. Could have been a couple minutes shorter to give a few other matches more time but that is perhaps a knit pick as the story telling made up for it."
[5.0] "This was just a RAW main event. Yes, there were cool spots, but there's no reason for these teams to be made right now. The ambiguity on Punk and Starks' alignment is ridiculous, and this match didn't help any. There were too many false finishes. There was two-thirds of this match that were a slog to get through, only to get a Bucks-style spotfest at the end of the match. I like the Bucks but jesus, it seems like even they finally understood that a tag match is lost on the viewer when you can't tell who's legal."
[6.0] "Some of the character work from starks and Christian was very entertaining. Christian blows away any other dudes his age. Ring work was decent. Match was too long, and the Collision main events are starting to suffer from repetitive participants and finishes."
[7.0] "It was great to see Punk and Christian in the ring together, both looking really sharp. This presentation of Ricky Starks as a cocky heel is what got me invested in him in the first place and I hope it lasts. The match itself was really enjoyable, my only criticism being that it was slightly too long."
[8.0] "A really good main event. Ricky is fantastic, face or heel. Christian is in top shape in 49 years old. Darby is a full package, with charisma, mic and ring skills. And Punk, despite every criticism, is the heart of the show (or part of it, at least). Good match to close a good show."
[10.0] "I genuinely believe that someone who finds this boring, or especially who doesn't think it has a story, does not know how wrestling is structured. The buildup to this was that Christian was influencing Ricky, being the veteran giving the rub to a young-gun slowly turning into cocky asshole, while Punk is the veteran influencing Darby into being a lovably charismatic yet rebellious and wiry individual. I can see the criticism in this having gone a bit too long, I don't think I would've minded cutting about 3-4 minutes of heat spots, but at the same time I personally, personally believe it works for this type of main event. It's really the best elements of classic wrestling and new-age high-spot structure being delivered together. This type of match could work in '93 WCW, or it could work on an indie show in front of 200 people. The crowd was utterly captivated, and so was I, if this type of heat-based match isn't someone's thing I understand, but I feel people are overly dismissive of its archetype. If anything, the match focused directly on the story! It wasn't melodramatic silliness, it felt genuine, as has everything on Collision thus far. *4.25*"
[8.0] "Really good main event that may have lasted a little too long but was consistent in terms of action with a pretty cool pace, an invested crowd and some truly great last minutes, Punk and Cage worked well together and it's great to see that. Darby and Ricky always had good chemistry too, I liked that spot from the top rope at the end, and I liked the way Ricky won, a good storytelling element. The guy's putting together a string of big wins."
[6.0] "Was alright, but went way too long relative to the quality of the match; it could have went 10 minutes and still accomplished everything done here."
[7.0] "Didn't have to be so long but overall it was a good match: the babyfaces had a couple of great comebacks and Christian was a great heel as usual. The action was fine, nothing outstanding but enjoyable with a couple of great exchanges between Darby & Ricky near the end. 7/10 - 3.5*/5*"
[9.0] "Great match, with two real veterans, two guys that are there to teach Darby and Ricky what wrestling is, how to pace and match. And they succeeded, making half an hour pass immediately. Punk is good, has been since returning but Christian...he shines! In perfect form, crisp, phenomenal! Ricky's arc is great, his character make these choices make sense, and Darby was a good choice to have, building the TNT title feud. I am very curious whether this will lead to a 1v1 on PPV, which could make sense. And the match itself was good, it built, it was not a meaningless sprint, no one had not blade! This is great AEW!"
[6.0] "They had almost the whole final half-hour of the show, so all four guys had plenty of opportunities to make sure they spent time in the ring with both opponents. Scorpio Sky was also shown sitting in a skybox watching the action. While this was a solid outing, you could see the lack of chemistry on both sides of the ring, which has to be expected when you have two duos who have never teamed up before. It also played into the story they were telling with Starks and Cage not getting along. The way Starks strutted while he was walking on the top rope was hilarious."
