[8.0] "Dax being in a leg-based submission for like 2 minutes, then instantly getting up for an avalance back suplex takes this down from 4.5. Like I get the leg gave out eventually, but delayed selling is just lazy to me. Anyway this was worked soooo well, the dynamic between both tag teams was great, and this BCG combo is perfect, Jay being the insufferable but indestructible rat, Juice being the right-hand loose cannon. Executed pretty much perfectly, with awesome spots, over 58 minutes and it never got boring. Near masterclass."
[9.0] "I never got around to watching this when it happened, or even once the great deal of acclaim came in, but now I have and I truly wish I saw this sooner. FTR are the best tag team going today. End of discussion. Though it must be said it takes two (or in a tag match, four I suppose) to tango and the team of Jay White and Juice Robinson were wonderful dance partners. To me, this match is a perfect example that in the current decade, the best wrestling is still the simple stuff done well. They went an hour and it felt like twenty. The only thing I wasn't in love with was then they entered the crowd and teased a doctor stoppage, but I'm willing to forgive that as everything else was borderline perfect."
[9.0] "Holy god, this was fantastic. I loved the absolute shit outta this tag match. FTR and Golden Club gave us a PPV level match on TV and I'm glad they did. [wrote on 08.08.2025:]"
[10.0] "Simply fantastic. This match proves that moves and spots mean way less than you think they do. These guys didn't reinvent the wheel, but what they did do was craft something that told a story, created drama, incited fan reaction at all the right times. The pace of this match was also extremely impressive for a match of its length. These guys didn't make it feel like 58 minutes, but at the same time, everything felt like it had a purpose and played into the psychology of the match. It's amazing that this was on TV, but even calling this a PPV quality match would be the understatement of the year."
[10.0] "What a freaking great tale of pro-wrestling that was. It deserves all of its flowers. All these efforts put into storytelling, psychology, and drama paid off so well. Wheeler and Hardwood were stung in their ego, and they had everything to lose coming into this match : their titles and their pride. Juice and White certainly took advantage of FTR's feelings, because the champions had to put themselves in danger in order to try something new on their challengers. The latter knew they had the psychological advantage, and the mind games were really interesting. A good old heat that the fans bought easily. The first fall was a chess game, and it was the smartest team who won it. The second was certainly the better, because FTR was in clear jeopardy, while Robinson and White showed some cockiness which surely caught the attention of their opponents. Even tough they tried to put their focus on White, Robinson became the easy target for FTR, but Juice showed once again that he's fighting equally in terms of credibility, and the dude showed great resilience. The nearfalls were breathless, as the second fall was the theatre of superb back-and-forth sequences, and, thus, it was the occasion to display some of the sweetest counters and transitions on each other. The third fall was men fighting men, because, hell, they were exhausted. An eye for an eye was clearly the vibe of this third fall. Juice sold the hell out of his legs, Wheeler and Hardwood showed exhaustion, while White lacked the energy to put on his sweetest counters. They fought for almost an hour, and we felt their fatigue. Even though they put everything they had in their biggest moves, they lacked the boost to cover their opponent, and the arena was completely losing his mind and holding its breath. The risks taken, the most dangerous moves displayed : the tiniest detail had an impact. No babyfaces, no heels : just men and their fists. A single move, a single hit, could have ended this bout at its very end. The ego boost, they had it by wanting to submit their opponent for the class act, but also for the humiliation. Each lad selling their whole body, their soul for their peer. Dax's Sharsphooter at the end locked so sick, as Robinson sold it like a boss. Everything was perfect there : the freaking total package of pro-wrestling : the drama, the story, the wrestling itself, the energy, the atmosphere and the freaking liberty to what they want. An all-timer, and it clearly deserved to be called like that. That was beyond fantastic. A gem to polish. A love letter to tag-team wrestling as a whole. It had it all."
[8.0] "A lengthy affair, but one that remains consistently engaging over its runtime which is pretty remarkable for a TV match. There's some padding in the first two falls, but I think they work hard to build towards to pretty climactic finishes. The third fall is where everything comes to a head, everyone running on fumes desperately trying to somehow take home the third fall until a brilliant final sequence where Dax uses his smarts and pulls down his kneepad to get more leverage on the sharpshooter which forces Juice to tap. There's some padding here obviously but I think this match more than justifies it's runtime with some great tag team psychology and some intensely dramatic sequences towards the end of each fall. Not a perfect match in my opinion but this is still pretty fantastic. ****1/4"
[9.0] "This was an incredible tag match, a truly emotional display from both teams which just let four amazing workers go to war for close to an hour. Is there downtime and could stretches have been cut? Yes. Did this still work as a 50 minute spectacle? Definitely. Dax got the third fall over Robinson with a Sharpshooter in a fitting moment, retaining the tag titles in the process. A really good matchup which is a must watch if you enjoy tag wrestling."
[10.0] "Love the use of Hart Dungeon boys moves for a match in Calgary, of the moves of various great tag teams in this epic ode to tag team wrestling, but my favourite thing about this match is how it totally bucks all trends of 2 out of 3 fall matches, and regular tropes in general. That first fall, built around getting heat on Dax, looking like it is building towards a hot tag and the FTR comeback, and then the boys snatch it from them out of nowhere. The second fall is just an epic back and fall duel full of big kickouts, and creative counters. The highlight of the third fall is really how much they all sell the toll that has been taken on them by all that they've gone through (Juice limping, Dax pulling the kneepad down so he can sit into the sharpshooter better, not being able to go for covers after hitting big moves). It is a bold (maybe physically inevitable) choice to slow it all down, but after all the work they have put in they have dramatically hooked you enough for it to work, and after everything they've hit each other with it is the smart psychological choice too. It is great when these matches live up to hype on rewatch and you know you weren't just wowed by how long the thing went."
[8.0] "(8.5) The match is very good, like I get the hype, but for me the 3rd fall just does not land the same way the first two do. Excellent build up, false finishes, and surprise offense in the first two, while the third presents this weird rest period, and a finish that is not as climatic as it deserved to be for how much was put into it leading up. Great match but all timer I don't think so."
[10.0] "I go back to this one pretty often, especially for a match of its length. This is a famous piece of FTR's catalogue, (almost) going the distance with a short-lived team that rapidly became memorable rivals. From Collision's premiere, FTR's chemistry with Jay & Juice is obvious, being reiterated by the non-title thriller that preceded this. They truly relish that dynamic here though, producing a 2/3 falls match that hosts multiple different takes on the pairing. Armed with almost unprecedented TV wrestling freedom, they just wrestle, finding a range of rhythms along the way. While it inevitably becomes an understandably epic affair, I love what the time before that allows. So often, TV wrestling is about achieving with efficiency. Getting someone or something over, being direct in the execution of those assignments. This isn't that though, and barely feels like TV wrestling at all, ironically. This is just guys wrestling, four fellas that clearly love to do the dance with one another, having the time of their life. Obviously, it's bloated and inevitably, it's flawed. It's a beautiful thing though, a truly unique piece of an era packed with television hits. *****"
[10.0] "In my eye the last truly Great non plunder north American tag match, The first fall was sharp stiff and methodically paced with FTR in control of the majority of the action whilst they BCG looked to frustrate them at the start then FTR got the upper hand on Juice both he through Dax into the ring post and got the hot tag then Both White and Dax had a stiff striking battle mixed with some great pinning predicaments until a blind tag by Cash with FTR in control leads to a Blocked shatter machine and Dax being tossed out of the ring before Cash is hit with the Left Hand of God and the Blade runner for the first excellently done Fall. The second fall was some of the greatest tag wrestling i have ever laid eyes open the tempo of the match quickened as BGC remained in control of the Fall dominating Cash with big moves like a DDT to the floor by Juice with eventually Cash fighting towards his corner and hitting a huricanrana on White to make the tag to Dax who came in like a house on fire changing the flow of the match with a springboard and a couple of Germans and a brainbuster for a 2 count it then shifts back to BCG as white hits a suplex into the corner on Dax then mirroring the first fall they get cocky and go for a spike pile driver which FTR counter in a super sunset flip and clothesline combo for a 2 then a tribute to the Briscoes for another 2 count. Then going for a power and glory where white gets his knees up and Juice splashes onto Dax and white crawls on to him for a 2.99 then FTR with some slick counters set juice up for the Shatter Machine for the 3 and the tying fall. This fall was absolutely electric and showed just how good Dax Harwood is as a worker. The third fall was just godly after it ended up on the outside during the commercials FTR hit big suplexs which mean BCG barley beat the 10 count before all 4 men face off in the ring with the crowd going crazy as they realise what they are seeing and the 4 start to lay into each other with Cash and juice spilling to the outside leaving Jay and Dax to shine in some of the best desperation wrestling i have ever seen with lots of stiff strikes and suplex with each time Dax looks for the tag Juice prevents it by knocking Cash of the apron before FTR lock in stereo sharpshooter and BCG cling on to prevent each other tapping out until the length of the match shows as FTR's legs give out breaking the hold leading to White having the time to tag in Juice whilst Dax is lowering his knee pads Juice goes in for a swinging DDT which Dax counters into another Sharpshooter going lower as his knees are not compressed anymore leading to a desperate and exhausted Juice to tap out ending one of the Best hours of wrestling I have ever seen. Absolute tag team perfection that went so quickly they could of gone 90 minutes and I would not of complained and i miss when tag wrestling in AEW was this good in matches between established teams in the division. (*****1/4)"
"This was an absolute blast to watch! Ive been sort of keeping up with AEW but have started to watch consistently the last few weeks and this will keep me watching! Best tag team match I've ever watched airing live!"
[9.0] "****.5 / One of the hypest moments I've had watching wrestling, espescially for weekly TV. Making me put down my homework and locking in on this masterpiece. Before this match I wasn't totally sold on anyone in this match outside of Jay (I was kinda an FTR hater... I've since seen the light) But this match made me an undeniable fan of everyone. Complete blindside barn burner. Potentially the best 2/3 falls match I've ever seen."
[9.0] "The goal was clearly to make Jay look like a megastar, and thet accomplished that for sure. It may not have panned out for him as well as I'd have hoped later on, but that doesn't take away from the excellent tag team wrestling here."
[9.0] "[4.5*] What a phenomenal tag team wrestling match. I said it before and I am gonna say it again: AEW audience has normalized spotfests as the only way to do a tag match but thats wrong and these 4 men showed us that old school wrestling may still be alive in a good style. All three falls were excellent but the third one was just absurd. Perfect display of the classic tag team wrestling with emotion, drama, selling and rules. It could have been a PPV Main Event and I would not complain because this right here is just fucking perfect. A shade of what Jay White is capable of doing if the chance is given. Phenomenal artistic match. The viral sequence with the splashes is insane."
[8.0] "(8.2) Wow that did not feel like 58 mins! The beginning was quite slow and went on a tad bit too long but it warmed up massively. The shatter machine counter that led to the end of the first fall was fantastic. The second part of the match was great with some crazy kickouts moves and amazing counters (specifically by Jay). The final fall started off great with FTR in the corner while BCG jumped in last second, after this the match slowed down rapidly as both teams were showing their tiredness. I thought it would end with the double sharpshooter but glad it didn't as FTR collapsing was a great spot. The chemistry between BCG was great all match and both teams did some great crowdwork. Only real negative was not putting the belts on BCG."
[10.0] "I love the contrast between FTR, a tag team whose whole deal is being serious about tag team wrestling, and Bullet Club Gold, with Jay White doing the finger guns mid-hold and Juice Robinson yelling at Paul Turner. The chemistry in this match is unmatched, and the crowd is so hot. Hard to think of any ways this match could have been better. It doesn't reach the level of FTR vs. Briscoes, but it's very close."
[8.0] "This match was probably one of the best match to come out of the AEW Collison shows. From bell to bell these to teams show you what tag team wrestling is all about at its highest level. The fact we got it on a weekly show is a blessing this was a PPV grade match to say the least."
[10.0] "Such an awesome two out of three falls tag team match. Jay White was an absolute star in this match, his style of wrestling mixed very well with FTR. They had very good chemistry. The match was structured very good. The both sharpshooters was excellent. These four guys stole the night. Excellent tag team wrestling."
[9.0] "I didn't expect Jay White & Juice Robinson to have one of the best tag team matches of all time, but here we are. Jay's counter heavy style was always going to mesh well with FTR's tag team mastery, but Juice's more straight forward brawling added an element of chaos to the match's back and forth flow."
[10.0] "One of the best if not the best televised tag team match ever.Only problem that I have with this match is that in the begining it looked a bit slow and didnt look like it was gonna be as good as it was."
[9.0] "That was a crazy match! Unreal to think this was in a freakin' weekly show, and nobody expected that would be so damn good. It was a joy to watch this episode, this ruled so hard, what a roller coaster! The first match was so great and then they announced a Two out of Three Falls rematch and everyone's feeling was to hope this would take a full hour, and it did. Amazing {****1/2}"
[8.0] ""One of the greatest TV matches in AEW history and definitely the best in Collision's history. There's not much more to sayit's just massive. 4.5/5.""
[10.0] "Just an hour of great wrestling, what more can I say? The pacing was fantastic by starting the match slow for the first fall and speeding up as it went along, one thing I noticed is how Juice took both of the falls so Jay still stayed protected."
[10.0] "I got to see this match in person. I walked in to the Saddledome relatively uninterested in wrestling and walked out absolutely obsessed. Need I say more?"
[10.0] "This match was simply incredible, the first fall started out slow and got geared up little by little, the second was completely insane with all those sensational moves and breathtaking nearfalls, the third fall slowed down the frantic pace of the second, thus showing all the tiredness and despair of the teams at this point in the match, I dare say that this is the best match that AEW has produced on a weekly show so far. 2023 MOTY (*****)"
[10.0] "Ive been watching pro wrestling since the age of 3, and I am very strict with what I consider a perfect match, but this is a perfect 5-star tag team match. The fact that they went nearly an hour on a TV episode is wild. FTR and Bullet Club Gold stole the show on collision episode 4 and stole tag team match of the year on collision episode 5. *****"
[7.0] "Here it is, a lengthy FTR match that actually kept me entertained. This was a full-on production, a showcase of bare bones wrestling from all 4 men. Every member feels important in a unique way, and the near falls and pin breakups are all great. It's admittedly pretty long, and not everything is flawless, that being said, this thing is 60 minutes, and what they did only gets you so far. 3.75ish Stars."
[10.0] "FTR and Bullet Club Gold carried the new AEW TV show Collision from an in ring standpoint during the show's first few weeks of it's existence and they gave the best match of the whole show with this god-tire 2 out of 3 falls tag match. Everything here was just absolute master-class from beginning to end and no other match on Collision after this has yet to top it."
[7.0] "A lot of damn good wrestling here, but there were definitely times during the first half I was REALLY feeling the nearly one-hour length of this one. There's absolutely no denying the talent of FTR, though, and Jay and Juice perform well as a team here too..."
[10.0] "One of if not the best tag team match of the year. 58 minutes of just absolute greatness between one of the greatest tag teams ever in FTR and a tag team consisting of 2 greats in one of the greatest factions ever. This was destined to be a classic."
[10.0] "An absolute hour of pure tag team wreslting that reinjected life into this once incredible tag division and showed what tag wrestling is really all about."
[10.0] "[5.25*] The best way to talk about this match is to talk about each fall separately. The first fall was very good, this is where the tensions between the tags grow, the exchanges between Dax and Jay White and Juice and Cash are very good. Juice and Jay are smart and steal the win with the first fall. The second fall is a lot of fun, the Bang bang gang does a classic heel work, punishing Cash and preventing him from tagging Dax, when the hot tag happens, Dax Harwood proves why he is one of the best wrestlers in the world, his moves are incredible , he really shines in his exchange with Juice, this fall is where things get more dramatic with some unexpected and electrifying kickouts. Juice and Jay's reverse in FTR's team work was incredible but even after so much resistance FTR finally manages to score the pinfall and tie the count. The third fall is spectacular, it finishes everything they did in an incredible way. I absolutely loved the moment when the four men are in the ring, already very tired and facing each other, the crowd's reaction is sensational. Dax surviving Jay White's sharpshooter was an extremely cool moment and reference as was FTR's double sharpshooter. Overall the match was perfect, one of the best tag matches I've ever seen, the two tags had perfect chemistry in the ring, all the falls were surreal and they still managed to keep the action frenetic for almost an hour."
[10.0] "Everyone is firing on all cylinders here. FTR live up to all the praise that has been put upon them and Jay and Juice perform at such a high level for a tag team that really had no existence outside of AEW. All 4 are kings of cardio with no true rest spots until the last few minutes of the match. The pace and is very fast but not to the point of it all blurring together., each sequence and big move is given its time. Theres no cheap falls in this setting which are often seen in 2/3 falls matches. Every fall is hard fought and earned. Easily the best tag match of this year"
[9.0] "A true surprise. Not because I didn't expect FTR to deliver such a match, but there was a time when the team of Jay White and Juice Robinson wasn't quite as cohesive. But goodness, how good the match was. And I didn't expect to see that on a weekly show. I was literally glued to the screen. A tag team match that deserves to be studied."
[10.0] "The selling, the spots, the sequences, the counters, the nearfalls, the crowd: everything in this match was exceptional. Easily the fastest 60 minutes of my life. Both teams delivered world class perfomances again and gave us the best tag team match of the year. The three falls of this match are (for me) the three best matches tag team matches of the year. And that just proves how good this match was. The beginning of the first fall was a bit slow but picked up near the end with some great exchanges between White and Harwood and the finish was amazing. The other two falls were just fantastic with lots of incredible moments that had me on the edge of my seat. A once in a lifetime tag match, simply world class. One of the best Aew's best matches ever, one of the best tag teams matches ever and by far the best match in Collsion's short history. 10/10 - 5*/5*"
[10.0] "10 and I wish i could go higher. Every single thing was perfect. Jay and Juice being insane heat magnets. Dax and Jay beating the shit out of each other. Jay kicking out of absolutely fucking everything and the briscoes tribute only for Juice to tag in and immediately get punked out. Jay antagonizing the crowd with the sean michaels taunt. Sharpshooter actually got the win. Match was physical, told a great story, and everything made sense with the characters involved. Crowd were spoiled and reacted accordingly. You dont need me to tell you how good this match is, but the rating needs a go a little higher so here's my 10 with all the others."
[10.0] "Awesome match. FTR did it again with another classic match. The structure was simple, yet very effective and worked well with the audience. The spots, selling, crowd connection, almost everything were well-executed. The finish of each fall was also awesome. And I love how Jay White mocking the audience by doing HBK's sharpshooter. It was a good recall. The old school style wrestling was excellent and worked here. Greatest match on Collison so far."
[10.0] "Definitely a top 3 match of 2023 for me and probably the best tag match of the year, maybe better than the Uso's vs. KO/Zayn at Mania. This match was four really good pro wrestlers doing what they do best."
[10.0] "My MOTY in 2023, an unbelievable 60 minutes, just some of the best tag team wrestling you will ever actually see, both teams bring their all to this match, and not only that they make Jay White look like the biggest threat in all of professional wrestling, go out of your way to watch this PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING MATCH."
[10.0] "If I smoked, I would probably want a cigarette to cool down after watching that match. Almost an hour of pitch perfect tag team wrestling. Everyone just plays their role to perfection, and FTR really have to dig deep and bust out all the stops to win here. Tag team match of the year, 5.25 stars (*****1/4)"
[10.0] "This match is more or less a perfect demonstration of the strengths of classic american-style pro wrestling. The dynamic and visual animosity between the babyfaces and heels, the airtight brawling and grappling throughout all fifty-some minutes, the the gravitas to every hold and every throw. The depth and attention to detail in the work and the psychology gives something for a seasoned fan to sink their teeth into, and allows the casual fan to completely lose themselves in the action. I showed this match to a non-fan of wrestling, and within the first fall he wanted nothing more than to see FTR trounce those sniveling heels. He would wince in pain with every big bump from Dax or Cash, groan when the Juice or Jay escaped a pinfall attempt, and beg for a babyface in peril to make the hot tag and show the other team what for."
[10.0] "The pitfall of working an intentional epic is that it often risks falling into self-indulgency and collapse under the weight of the expectations it generates. This is not one of those matches. I went into watching it slightly nervous that this might not be as great as the first one but it absolutely met and even exceeded expectations. My god what a match! It goes the full Broadway and not for a second did it feel boring or forced. A fantastic story with every participant playing their roles to the fullest extent. The athleticism, pacing and the drama were amazing. I felt it might be heading to a time limit draw in order to build one more future match but FTR eventually won after Harwood put on the sharpshooter on Robinson in an ingenious spot at the end. Hoping this isn't the last match between these two teams as they have great chemistry together. [4.75/5 Stars]"
"Extremely enjoyable match i love how jay white and juice robinson try to get on FTR's nerves, it did not feel like an hour at all for me so i was pretty surprised by that, watching FTR always makes such enjoyable matches so no wonder it felt way faster, Great pace, fantastic duos, loved it"
[6.0] "It was a very long match, especially for AEW weekly show, I usally have no problems with long battles, I love Japanese wrestling, come on. And it wasn't bad, as the previous match too, I enjoyed a lot of moments and tag team combinations, not only from Wheeler and Harwood, but from Robinson and White as well. It was a cool moment when Juice helped Jay to return to the ring during the count out, for example. There were fine or good moments, and I admit this, but I expected more considering the match-up and rating. A lot of things didn't look interesting, and good stuff was like disjointed pieces of the puzzle. I can understand why almost everyone liked this match, I tried to enjoy it at least for the 8 rating, but I just couldn't. Then I wanted to rate it a 7, but the final part was too uninteresting and unexciting, I felt zero tension. Jay's trolling of Canadian fans was the best thing about this, I guess."
[5.0] "I love all the FTR classics, except for the first match against the Young Bucks, but for some reason their chemistry against White and Robinson doesn't click anything in me, and this match seems to me as boring as the previous one, but with the timing doubled. No, there were, of course, good moments, and interesting tactical things, again reminding me that smart wrestlers are fighting against each other, but the implementation didn't allow me to get carried away with it enough to really empathize with anyone. The final didn't impress me at all and it didn't feel like the end at all. The best moment of the match is the trolling of Michaels fans performed by White (**1/2)."
[10.0] "Yeah, this ruled. This felt closer to 30 minutes than it did to an whole hour, but I loved it. This was a definite step-up from their previous match, which was really good in its own right. This was an absolute war between two really good duos and FTR once again prove why they're one of the best Tag Teams in the world at the moment, if not THE very best."
[10.0] "One of the greatest tag team matches I have ever seen. Frankly, one of the best matches I've ever seen period. FTR continue to prove why they are the best tag team in the world. I loved the sequence in the second fall where FTR are unable to put away Jay White. FTR did a phenomenal job increasing the desperation with every move, and White looked unstoppable. Fantastic match."
