Dusty Rhodes & Nikita Koloff vs. Manny Fernandez & Rick Rude

[6.0] "Good match, did a decent job of furthering the neck pain of Kolloff. Felt kind of short, really like Dusty lifting one finger up when in the sleeper."

[5.0] "The first quarter final match only lasted just under 7 minutes and was decent, though unfortunately there was very little of Nikita in the match, and much of it was just Dusty's beating before his comeback and quick win in a rather strange way."

[6.0] "Solid match. This doesn't go that long and it follows the southern tag team wrestling formula pretty closely, but the work is good and the crowd is really into this, especially the babyfaces. Despite following the classical formula, this is missing a hot tag which leads to a somewhat anticlimactic finish when Dusty makes reverses a crossbody, there's no babyface comeback at all. This can be explained by Nikita's neck injury and Dusty trying to protect him, but the result is that Dusty just sort of beats the world tag team champions in pretty short fashion. The heat sequence on Dusty is also not particularly strong and/or long, which takes away from the finish as well. This is missing a final act, preferably with more the heels getting more heat and the babyfaces making an actual comeback, but this is still a solid match"

[7.0] "A fun match between The Super Powers and the tag team champions. Nikita doesn't get involved a ton, but what's here is typical Crockett rabid fans loving every second of it. Rhodes's ego as a booker was on display here as he pretty much beats the tag champs by himself. Still fun, though."

[5.0] "The action was ok here, a bit short but not bad, Dusty and Manny were especially good together. Actually, I don't think Nikita even got into the match, which made sense since Dusty was trying to save him and his injured neck for later matches. But come on, I love Dusty but he should definitely not be beating the tag team champions singlehandedly."
