[8.0] "Genuinely one of the better tag matches this year. Catch 22 is one of the most slept-on tag teams on the planet, and Clark and Drilla are beginning to find their grove as a great team as well. The action here is great, with Akira being particularly good, and the War Dogs have one of their better heel and in-ring performances as well. TJP is consistent as usual and shines in his mentor/partner role with Akira. Really looking forward to the rest of this rivalry down the road. 4.25 Stars."

[8.0] "Genuinely really good. Cut a bit of the starting brawl in the crowd and you have one of the best NJPW matches of the year. Clark Connors also still sucks at heel control segments, but it didn't last very long so whatever, you let it go. Recommended for sure."

[8.0] "The brawl at the beginning that led to Akira's crazy crossbody was pretty fun. Once they got into the ring BC took control of the action until a beautiful comeback by Akira. Tjp was super over and his comeback was also great. The action was very fun and quick with some good nearfalls. Akira delivered a fantastic perfomance, Tjp was also good, Moloney & Connors were vicious and received some good heat by the hot crowd. 8/10 - 4*/5*"

[8.0] "It took a few minutes for me to get really invested in this but, once it got going both sides did a good job of getting the fans behind Catch 2/2. Akira was terrific here flying all over the place and being a great babyface champion putting it all on the line to defend the titles. I not completely sold on the War Dogs Jr team yet even though I like both of them individually, this was a step in the right direction though and as they evolve and become a more established team. This would have been better if Catch 2/2 never lost the title in the first place and they beat the record, but they had a very good organic face turn recently. Really good match that keeps the momentum for these titles going strong in 2023"

[8.0] "Really great match. Best I've seen Moloney so far in NJPW I think. Loving the new BC guys. Catch 22 awesome as always, probably the best Jr tag team in recent years. ****1/4"

[9.0] "This followed alot of the same patterns as the previous match but was still very fun and made to feel different. The two teams were meant to feel fairly equal here, I thought TJP and Akira looked great but the story of Drilla being bigger played into the end. Really great match but sad Catch 2/2 had such a short reign"

[9.0] "Good match to crown our new IWGP Junior Heavyweight tag team Champions, perhaps the NJPW version of the Bloodline Civil War despite the fact that Connors has never been part of the United Empire. Lot of nearfalls and even and assisted canadian destroyer. I think that the BC Is the perfect faction for Moloney despite he is english, he has much more charachter then in his UE time. ****1/2"

[8.0] "If not for the main event this would be my favourite match on the card. The crowd adore Catch 2/2 and completely understandable considering theyve single handedly revived the Jr. Tag division. Connors and Maloney following the Hanson and Gordy vibe of Kidd and Coughlin made them feel much less threatening with the crowd and you do feel that with quieter reactions when BC take control. Connors and Drilla still feel like they need to earn their stripes with the NJPW crowd but this match has put them well on their way to doing so. Definitely worth a watch"

[9.0] "More competitive than the previous match and a hell of a lot better. Moloney and Clark were vicious in this match, similarly to how Gabe and Coughlin were in the previous match, but that didn't stop Catch 22 from mounting some insane comebacks and getting some close nearfalls. Even though the outcome was pretty predictable, I still enjoyed this match a ton, and the more I watch Francesco Akira wrestle, the more I think he's one of the best in the world currently. Incredible match. ****1/2"

"I don't think Drilla is a Junior Heavyweight, but I'm not gonna be the one to question him. He's been an absolute beast since coming to NJPW, and this match was absolutely fantastic. Catch 2/2 are one of my favorite teams right now, and this was a crushing loss for me as a result - but the rematch that will come is going to be insane. 9/10"

[9.0] "This was so much better than I expected, I loved it. The only real complaint I have is Moloney not catching Akira on dives twice, apart from that it had the perfect structure. Much more vicious BC heat here than in the previous match, great spot on the stairs to a great crowd pop, Akira and TJP were amazing in their babyface comebacks and the drama really was top tier until the end. I was expecting a cool ***1/2 and got a ****1/4, props to them."

[9.0] "Man, to me, Catch 22 is one of the best tag teams in the world right now. The have elevated their division in a way few other teams have done, and after his match with Desperado at BOSJ, Akira has a different aura, as if he wasn't great yet, but you knew he's gonna be. Of course, War Dogs had to get the win, and they obviously made half the work in order for this to be a great match, but I hope we see a third reign for TJP and Akira."
TheLegitBoss wrote on 04.07.2023:
[8.0] "Really good Junior tag match right here between Catch 22 and Moloney & Connors which was definitely a lot of fun as I'd hoped it would be between four big performers, even if I'm still not convinced by Moloney by the way, who delivered solid & well-paced action. Disappointed that TJP & Akira's second reign has already come to an end, but I can understand the move to bring out the BC War Dogs very strongly from this show, especially after Kidd & Coughlin's win just before, this is great for the new Bullet Club. Anyway, an energetic tag match that lived up to all its promises."
