3526.05.2023flightaker3218.0Like their last match, the crowd was hot for the whole thing, but this time they had a great heel-face dynamic with the crowd loving Okada, and booing anything Naito did. Also this time there was no LIJ interference, making this match much more enjoyable to watch. The start of this match is great, but the middle drags down a bit although it isn't bad, and the atmosphere helps it out a ton for sure. The last 10-12 minutes or so was great counter-heavy wrestling from both men with both guys having a ton of slick counters. Naito spitting in Okada's face at the end was probably my favorite moment of the match, and he got a big reaction for kicking out of the rainmaker. Still a great match even though the middle is kind of just there.****1/4

4308.05.2022ShineyxDiver9.0Fucking incredible match. This is in Osaka and if you know, as the Japanese world is falling in love with Naito, Osaka hates this man. Deeply, and personally. It is clear at this juncture. The kickout of the Rainmaker was a clear surprise, and shook the Earth basically. ****1/2

5230.05.2021Judestar8.0The beginning of the match was cool, the middle was surprisingly empty? They brought it back during the end though and the rainmaker kickout was a huge surprise ****.

5716.12.2020pierreMinne10.0That match was absolutely enormous. If Tanahashi/Okada ( WK 10 ) wouldn't exist, it would be my 2016 MOTY in terms of japanese wrestling. Incredible match in all I needed to see, that was fluide as f*ck, Naito is maybe the most fluide performer of this century, then the storytelling was perfectly executed, even if it was simple. Naito's kickout from the Rainmaker was enormous. I loved every move and everything they did, even the part of the match outside of the ring with the awesome Dropkicks from both wrestlers. ****3/4

5905.08.2020Garmonbozia9.0Great match, I liked how Naito agreed to send rest of the LIJ away before the bell. Naito fought well but it wasn't enough now.

6413.06.2020TSwifty10.0Great match by Okada and Naito, who almost always have a great match together. Their Wrestle Kingdom matches reach far greater heights in terms of story and action but i was really impressed by this match for several reasons. I'm glad there was no LIJ interference so both men could work a clean match, and the audience was tremendous. They created such a great atmosphere as they heavily booed Naito and loudly cheered for Okada. Naito was masterfully heeling it up spitting at Okada and into the crowd. The first half is slow but there is some good bits mixed in alongside the crowd and the character work, such as the ramp dropkicks. They build quite well to the finishing stretch and it's excellent. The final 10 minutes are exceptional with so many slick counters and breathtaking nearfalls. Naito being the second person to kickout of the Rainmaker was awesome. This was a quality start to the greatest heavyweight championship reign of all time. ****3/4

7808.01.2019RatingsMachine8.0This match, whilst not quite as good as their first one, is tons more enjoyable because the usual Los Ingobernables bullshit is absent, with Naito sending them to the back before the match begins. This also means that all the focus can be on Naito and Okada, and they put together a fairly excellent match. It's missing that little something to put it a little higher, and the final stretch also lacks a little something in the way of drama, although it does have some dramatic moments. Overall, this match, whilst not quite as good as the first is still great and it's also a great showcase for Naito and Okada as they both put in some top-notch performances.

8430.05.2018Okaro1438.0This match was quite good. Naito played the heel part very well. The fans were behind Okada this time around. I like it better than the Invasion Attack match. 8. 5/10 for me.

8804.01.2018LegibleToe7629.0At a rewatch, I really liked this. The start was fairly slow but had its good bits but the best part about this compared to their other matches was that the finish to the match was much longer and was fast-paced for at least 5 minutes with sequences and counters, building on their other matches, mostly from Invasion Attack. The Tranquilo Naito nearly got it done again but the lack of interference and Okada countering the Rainmaker rollup counter into a Rainmaker by grabbing the wrist on the way out, genius by the way, got it done for Okada. This showed that, then, Naito couldn't pull it off one on one, but now at Wrestle Kingdom 12, 1 and a half years on, let's see what ends up happening with Naito having won the G1 for the second time in the true main event. (****1/2)

9001.07.2017Blood Pump7.0The start of Okadas now legendary IWGP Heavyweight title reign kicked off against the man who'd initially taken the title from him two months prior, and while I'd call this match better then that one I'd have to rank it relatively low in the grand scheme of Okada's current reign. That's not to say its not worth a watch, far from it the match is still a classic must watch. Naito played the heel roll wonderfully, spitting at the fans and later at Okada. The counter segments near the end really helped elevate it above the two's previous encounter, though not above their 40th anniversary show bout ages ago. **** 1/4

9626.01.2017seriousbusiness10.0Probably better than their Invasion Attack match for several reasons. The first thing about this match that was better was the hot crowd, as the IA crowd was super hot for mostly Naito, this Osaka crowd was hot for both men; Okada got most of the cheers and Naito got a LOT of boos like a great heel should. The other part of this match that I really liked is there was no interference so Naito and Okada did this one on one. In a way that it is similar to the IA match is both still kind of work their standard pace and moves but this one had better pacing and a bit more innovation with the ramp and such. The final 10 minutes of this match is great and that final sequence is awesome. In a way this match was really similar to the AJ/Okada match from last year since both matches played out very similarly. In the end though Okada reigns supreme as the golden boy of the company but this legendary feud is far from over, ****3/4.
