This match was on the cusp of something greater, but unfortunately didn't go all the way through with it's ideas. I really liked the brawling in and out of the ring for the first third of the match, but it wasn't nearly as hectic as it could have been. Another element of the match that irked me was Mashimo working on Kento's arm throughout the match. Mashimo did great work in attacking the arm and Kento sold it really well too, but it meant nothing in the grand scheme of things as the match would go to a draw anyways, so in the end that arm work was a waste of time. This was not a bad or even average match by any means, but you could tell both guys could do something even better in a regular title match, ****1/4. |

They brawled a bit through the crowd and the way Mashimo worked Kento's arm here was so great. And I love how desperate both guys were during the last 5 mins, just to not let the match end in a draw. 13 | 11.11.2016 | Mizzle Assault Ant | 9.0 | Another pretty great match from AJPW this year, it felt perhaps a touch long but there's a lot of great offense and strong sequences, and even a brawl through the crowd, I enjoyed it a lot. |

18 | 30.08.2016 | Glover | 9.0 | An awesome match that showed the strength of Kento Miyahara's title reign as the ace of All Japan. Mashimo was brutal to the champ, and Miyahara's resiliency was top-notch. A really fantastic title match here. ****1/2 |
