| 27 | 17.03.2025 | danzitorock | 9.0 | This match hits hard, truly an awesome one, obviously it's adapted to the WWE conception of a 'hardcore' match on the PG Era, so even if it's under extreme rules, it doesn't have blood or crazy-ass violent spots, but it's a blast, the match is good the entire time, very dynamic and thrilling, right after it started, Roman Reigns hits AJ with an incredible knee strike, and the punches by Styles were a thing of beauty, I don't remember him having a lot of matches with those amazing punches, that looked awesome, and the whole match was super stiff, when they started to brawl at the outside, they've really captured the anarchic energy that the bout needed to have. In the ending stretch, as expected, Gallows and Anderson had a run-in, but Roman kicked out of their finisher, then the Usos also appeared to help Roman, and Styles kicked out of their finisher combo, making it one each. After a lot of involvement by the sidekicks, Styles seemingly managed to have things under control, he started to uncontrollably hit Roman and the Usos with a chair, with Reigns even kicking out of two styles clashes, but when he went for the phenomenal forearm, boom, a spear out of nowhere, and Roman still the champion, fantastic match. Rollins return after the match was also great and unexpected, huge pop for that one - {****1/4} |

Usually these matches from the last decade looks worse on a rewatch, but this one is even better now than it was then. This was so stiff, the spots were incredible, they broke 2 tables and a barricade, it had a lot of nearfalls, 2 Styles Clashes, one of them on the table, a Super Spear this was actually almost perfect. My only issue with it was the interferences, they felt unnecessary and kinda rushed the ending. At least the nearfalls involving the tag finishers were pretty dope too. Almost perfect main event, truly phenomenal. Loved it. |

Like the whole brawl outside of the ring was very pointless and extremely boring. The overbooking really took me out of the moment of the match when it happened. Reigns looked really goofy at times and his selling of his finger(? ) when he hit the chair on the steel step was really weird. But also I loved the parts where he tossed around Styles as a body bag, it genuinely felt like Styles was going all out in this match for the championship. He takes bumps that you would never expect to see in a WWE match, some really nasty CTE inducing stuff and Reigns isn't afraid to do some stuff either. The ending is even something I'm mixed on. I didn't like the winner at all but also the way it was executed was just incredible and the post-match return of Seth Rollins was great.This is a match where I'm basically in the middle of saying its very boring and too slow but also contains some of the best stuff of these guys' times in this company. |

I mean when this Roman was paired up with someone like AJ, who can make his offence look absolutely deadly just by bumping all over the place, it was always a recipe for a banging match, and that is exactly what this was. It wasn't really a typical extreme rules hardcore spotfest type ordeal, it was more of a brawl around the arena and ringside, with some insanely good in ring wrestling interspersed throughout, which mostly took place at the end. And the ending of this match is fucking HEAT as well, as Roman counters a phenomenal forearm from AJ into a mid air spear for the win. A really great match overall, one of Roman's best from this era and one of AJ's best WWE matches too. ****1/2 |
