[7.0] "I've been loving Athena's heel title reign, and it's a credit to her talent that she can come across as completely dominant in this match while also making Skye Blue look great and handing her the best match of her career. Athena powerbombiing Skye from the turnbuckle onto the sideways steel stairs was a great spot, Athena's face after Skye kicked out at one following that spot AND Athena's finisher was priceless. (Athena's facial expressions are always so good.) I also enjoyed the moment when they kept rolling each other into 2-count nearfalls so often that they ended up rolling all around the ring like a ball... even though they most likely stole that from the AEW Revolution PPV that was held three days earlier, where Bryan Danielson and MJF did the exact same thing."
[7.0] "Gutes Match.Athena ist über jeden Zweifel erhaben, aber Skye ist noch nicht soweit.Ihre Offensive ist sehr langsam und generell wirkt sie hier sehr zögerlich.***1/2"
[6.0] "Skye Blue's growth is something really cool to keep up with as she's showing she works a lot and really wants to improve. Athena's heel work is phenomenal and I think AEW would only benefit by featuring her weekly. The match was well structured and it did a great job by displaying Skye Blue's offense on a few occasions. However, this was still not flawless, there were a couple of weird-executed spots and the pace wasn't fluid. Nevertheless, good match that shows the women division can and should have longer matches and have more meaningful stories."
"I'm a huge fan of both Athena and Skye Blue, and was hyped for this match, but the chemistry felt off - especially during the first half of the match. Skye is rapidly improving but demonstrated that she still needs to refine her timing and footwork. Her moves didn't feel crisp and came across on the screen as highly pre-planned and choreographed. Athena is great, as always, and the Universal Studios setting reminded me a lot of her time as Ember Moon in WWE NXT during their Full Sail days (which is not a bad thing at all). Also kudos to both women for their stiff strikes, spots, and bumps. I'm looking forward to the next time they square off again, and I have a sneaking suspicion Skye is going to have improved ten-fold by then."
[6.0] "This was decent enough, and definitely one of the best matches Skye has had, but never really felt competitive or as though Skye was enduring despite being overmatched. I love Athena's title reign, but it's had several better defenses."
[10.0] "I don't think it's an exaggeration to say Athena has pretty easily been the MVP of the weekly ROH show since it started back up. I would say she has easily claimed match of the night honors at least four times in the past couple months and shows no sign of slowing down. I am not even a big Skye Blue fan, though she did impress me with some brave bumping in this match, but there can be no doubt in my mind that Athena carried her to her best match so far by a mile here. Athena is kicking every kind of ass and I hope her reign continues a long time."
[9.0] "This was a really fun main event! It's cool seeing Skye Blue get a big title match and Athena was excellent as well. The steel steps powerbomb was a brutal spot that I absolutely appreciated. Overall just a hard fought bout here."
[10.0] "This match was absolutely awesome. I can't believe such a great title reign from Athena, maybe the best women's title reign with high quality matches. and Skye has improved her skills very well . I love this match"
[4.0] "Ich fand das leider nur ok. Sehr viel Stalling, Timingprobleme. Skye Blue sieht man bei jeder Aktion an, dass sie ihrer Gegnerin nicht weh tun will. Ja, sie wird besser. Athenas Strikes sind super. 4/10 Brote"
[4.0] "Blue is pretty bad - her offence looks weak, you can see her getting ready to take moves & she desperately needs to learn how to protect herself on those floor bumps. This was basically an extended squash with a strange flurry of sore-thumb fighting spirit at what should have been the finish **"
[10.0] "Athena is easily the female wrestling MVP of the year between WWE, AEW, and ROH atm. She's having SUCH a killer reign out of ALL the female world champions in those promotions. I've always claimed that Athena is one of the best female wrestlers in the industry over the last several years. She's just recently beginning to remind everyone how excellent she truly is in the ring. As for Skye Blue, this was DEFINITELY her best match of her career so far. Skye is only 23 years old too, so she's still got a lot of potential; but she is clearly on the right path since she overdelivered against Athena last night. I objectively gave this match a STRONG 9.5/10 (which means it was close to a 10). However, I loved this women's main event so much that it definitely earned a 10 on this site in my book. I STRONGLY recommend checking out this match. It somehow topped Athena vs Willow Nightingale from a few months ago. Personally, I'd have Skye Blue beat Athena on the rematch to end her lengthy world title reign after last night's performance."
[8.0] "I am amongst those who complain about ROH not having enough stories, but when they tell one, I want to be sure to give it some love. This had multiple weeks of build up, main evented the show in which it was featured, and it felt special because of it. I think Blue comes out of this match much better than when she came in, and has potential to remain in the upper crust of women on the babyface side of things as long as she is in ROH. Her and Athena had really good chemistry, played their roles well, and Blue looked tough as nails taking a powerbomb onto stairs and coming back for more. Excellent match."
[9.0] "athena continues to rule over not only roh but for the 1st 4 and a half months womens wrestling in north america as right now she is sitting at the top. skye blue is a future star in pro wrestling and this match showed that. just a great all around effort from these 2 ladies and def a must watch"
[8.0] "An overall very good main event and another good defense for Athena. I didnt really care for the sequence fighting on the stage with the referee not acknowledging the 20 count, something that also happened in Athenas defense over Yamashita. Beyond that, both worked very hard and likely had Skyes best match. Id put Athena/Willow above it still but certainly worth seeking out."
[8.0] "The absolute match of the night right here with no surprise for this main event that delivered and was by far the longest match of the night, this reign of Athena is fantastic and it continues to be as she gave Skye Blue the match of her life, the best of her short career without a shadow of a doubt. Everything was on point in the storytelling of the match, Athena's heel-work is always truly brilliant and Skye's work is always convincing too, she's a big babyface. Not at the level of Athena vs Willow earlier this year for me but not far, this was very good."
