[9.0] "Damn that's the first match for Eddie's after getting fired from WWE, and what a first match that was! , genuinely great work by both but Eddie is really good here at showing the pure wrestling skills and grappling and some really fascinating transitions in between that really makes difference genuinely imo, that was just really great time. ****1/4_****1/2"

[9.0] "Eddie Guerrero's return to the ring in 2001 against Low Ki eerily looks like the last scene of The Wrestler but this time, Eddie comes away with a new lease on life, not perhaps, the end of it. There was no shortage of turmoil here, as some of the fans took to chanting DWI. This is a very interesting rewatch to coincide with the recently re-issued Dec 2001 shoot interview with Guerrero on RF Video. He talks intimately about how he needed to know if he could still perform at his own level of expectation. Watching the match for the first time, Eddie is a bit hesitant to start, but leans into the moment, accepting the cheers as much as the boos and taunts, as he said in the shoot, 'just as long as they're making noise'. Imagine seeing Frusicante pick up the guitar for the first time back; Eddie gives us that experience in this match, while also shining for Low Ki every step of the way. When the chants start, he turns on the pressure even more, calling back to some of his classic repertoire with Rey Mysterio, but this time, improved. He doesn't fall for the Frankensteiner, he focuses with a Two Amigos brainbuster, and in the end, gets caught in a roll up. He shows us he has a long way back, but that Rome wasn't built in one day. In a years time, he would be Tag Team Champions with Chavo, in two years time, fighting against John Cena for the U.S. Title, and in three years time a World Champion in WWE, having main evented pay per views like he said was his dream on the RF shoot. And, then, gone from us less than four years to the day of his amazing comeback performance in Queens. When greatness is in front of you, love it or hate it, you must witness it. I, for one, love Eddie Guerrero, and this match. ****1/2"

[8.0] "This was an amazing match. It starts off with some amazing technical sequences before transitioning to a much faster paced high-flying style that both men excel at. Eddie did a great job getting his own stuff in while still making sure Low Ki stays strong and even puts the younger man over, which you wouldn't expect from a recently released ex-WWE guy."
