If you don't have the archives, you can also find the match in the DVD set 'RAW - The Beginning'. The length is remarkable for two midcarders who are generally considered lower-tier, though unfortunately, the match's weak point, the build-up to the decisive pinfall, cannot be overlooked."

[8.0] "This was a very good match. Easily one of the best matches from the early days of Raw. It's weird seeing Doink not only being portrayed as a serious character, but as a great wrestler as well. Marty was great here as usual. It's unfortunate that he never got more from his singles run. Obviously, he got the IC title, but it's clear that Vince was way more high on Shawn which makes sense because he was definitely the better half of The Rockers. Anyways, the fans were thoroughly behind Marty from the moment he came out. As for the match itself, it was wrestled well the whole time. There wasn't anything here that was even remotely bad. Individually, none of the falls on their own are anything special. It's a collage of three 3 star matches that, when put together, tell a good story. I would also go as far as to say that this is one of the better 2/3 Falls matches in terms of structure with Doink seemingly dominating the first two until Marty found an opening and capitalized. The third fall was way more competitive with there being a heavy focus on wearing each other down. Doink did make the mistake of targeting the other knee after going after the other one with the ring post and figure four. Marty still sold it well though. The finish was great with the 2nd Doink coming in and winning until Savage foiled their plan and forced Hebner to reverse the decision. Overall, a hidden gem that should be seen by all. The pacing is very slow to start and it never really picks up but it was still great regardless. 7.5/10 ***3/4"

They pull the second Doink out here but I didn't hate it. Doink would've won this but the decision was reversed after Macho Man helped to reveal the truth of the two Doink's. I'm glad we got more of these two after the previous week's episode."

[8.0] "Tremendous match. An unexpected contender for WWF match of the year that came from out of nowhere. The first two falls were solid, but the third fall was where they switched gears and took it to the next level. The psychology was off the charts, with Doink destroying the leg to stop Jannetty's aerial attacks (which gave him the win in the 2nd fall, which Heenan smartly pointed out on commentary). The Doinks getting caught pulling the switcheroo was a great piece of business, and great character development for the Doink gimmick. Spectacular match overall. [****]"

Tremendously well built to the third and final fall which saw some high drama and quality selling that had me hooked at the end. The reverse decision was smart honestly, giving us a feel-good babyface triumphant for the fans. A legit MOTYC for WWF 1993. [****1/4]"

[7.0] "Stuff like this was a big highlight of the early days of Monday Night Raw. It's a shame Borne didn't stick around and that Marty never found his mojo, because a match like this truly shows what they were capable of, with 1/3 of the show dedicated to the story of their match. The goofiness of these few first years of Raw was not sustainable, but matches like this made it more than tolerable."

[7.0] "Was shocked to find this on the match guide as I always assumed Doink was just a comedic act in WWE but I would of been wrong. This isn't the best match you will ever see but that being said it is good and it's nice to actually see a 2 out of 3 falls match for a change because let's be honest when do they ever happen nowadays?"
