[7.0] "I think I would have rated this an 8 had it not been for the finish. For me, it felt just a little anticlimactic after the entertaining the match the two men had here. I think it might have been better if Guevara still distracted Remsburg, but MJF hit Perry as he was getting into the ring or something, allowing Guevara to hit the GTH perhaps. Maybe it's just me, but I think the ending could have been executed better."
[7.0] "For my taste, it was a bit too spot for spot. They can just have unleash like brutes on each other and that would have been way more enjoying. Nevertheless, some bumps were meant to hurt. This add some good storytelling to the Pillars story. Perry and Guevera really displayed some good fire. Everybody got screwed during the finish. For sure. A hot fight to close this episode."
[8.0] "Lot of great athletics spots. Fast pace which benefits both men. Sammy looked a little better than Jungle Boy in this match with his offense and Jungle Boy sold for him well. The finish protected both of the pillars so it could keep the idea of a four pillars championship match at the pay-per-view exciting."
[8.0] "I don't get the rating being so low: this match was great! Filled with many great and crazy spots and sequences, from the beginning to the very end this match was a fantastic display of atheltism by these two. The spanish fly off the apron and the poison 'ranas sequences were outstanding. The final dropkick off the tope rope on the table was sick and MJF's alliance with Guevara looks good. Unfortunalety the crowd was dead but it was still a great match. 9/10 - 4.25*/5*"
[7.0] "I thought the match was pretty cool with the idea being to spend the entire match doing big moves right from the bell. It actually hurt the match from a crowd reaction standpoint because if all the moves are big they don't know which ones to react to. I'd hate if all wrestling was like this but it's fun on occasion. The booking of the finish was quite surprising, a sneaky count out due to MJF interference was probably better than beating either guy clean and the show ends on an intriguing note with Sammy and MJF celebrating in the ring."
[8.0] "Good match the ending was bad but a good spot this could be better or worse not happy by the outcome but pleased by it Guevara was a good heel in it ****"
[5.0] "This match wasn't bad but I can't say it really did it for me. The idea of a pillars tournament isn't so bad but the setup seems awkward at best. The 4way is the obvious choice yet we are mucking around with a weird little two match tournament. We couldn't have at least done round robin or something? And we start with the two weakest pillars to boot. Don't get me wrong, I do like Sammy, but since he was first named a pillar it feels like his star has already faded quite a bit. And Jungle Boy, well, I know some won't agree but I feel like he's been exposed pretty clearly as being far behind the rest of the group as far as being ready for a main event spot. This match held up that idea in my opinion, you get a couple nice moments including Jungle Boy bumping on the table nicely and Sammy pulling out some cool offense, but overall the match just isn't that amazing. Add a screwball ending on and it's just not a super impressive main event."
[5.0] "Mechanically pretty fine but that shouldn't be the highest praise a tv main event that sets up a PPV main event should get. I don't hate the finish in theory but the timing of it was off and that match didn't really set it up at all."
[5.0] "look im all for spotfests, but you cant do them like this lol. like this isnt even a wrestling match atp, youre just doing moves to do them. points for creativity on some of the spots, but this is what every pillar vs pillar match feels like. points for the ending, otherwise this would be very dull. **1/4"

[4.0] "My least favorite Dynamite main event in a minute! Didn't click with me. The crowd being completely dead didn't help. Really can't exactly say I loved the ending either. **"
[4.0] "Super bizarre layout to the match. They started by doing big move after big move and the crowd didn't pop for any of them at the beginning or middle. It seemed more an exhibition than actually telling something resembling a story in the match. Didn't mind the finish all that much."
[5.0] "AEW has prided itself on avoiding cop-outs like those, and to see it play out in a match that was billed as being such a high-stakes encounter hardly felt like the right time to go there. If the Four-Way at Double or Nothing is still the endgameand the shenanigans here suggest that will be the caseit was imperative not to book a loss for either potential challenger. So, why go there? Every sign pointed to the Four-Way anyway, fans were ready to see it and the explanation for its existence made just enough sense. There was no reason to get too cute with a half-hearted, convoluted tournament just to have the Four-Way match revealed anyway. Sometimes bookers attempt to get ahead of the audience and, in the process, get too smart. That was definitely the case here."
[8.0] "I just do not understand the need for the pillars tournament. I get it, we have a month until Double or Nothing and we need to keep the story fresh in everyone's mind, but this was just not it for me. The match itself was very good, second best of the night in my opinion. Some crazy spots with Jack's destroyer as an example. Now.. the difference between MJF and the other three pillars is abysmal. Not one of those three other guys are ready for the world title, but hey I like the storyline!"
[5.0] "Ahh what can you say.... There was na storytelling lack of selling, shit ending.. They where just going spot after spot. Whole feud feels underwhelming, MJF need to carry those 3 cause they are simply not on the main event level for AEW"
[8.0] "Very good match between Guevara and Perry right here which was a very qualitative main event, in which the fans on attendance took a long time to get into it which is surprising since they were making crazy moves from the first minute, and it never dropped in rhythm and quality. Luckily the fans were invested as the minutes passed and both guys did some crazy spots with great moves and perfect execution, a very impressive spotfest as I like to see with these two guys. And for my part, I thought the ending was well done. Darby vs Sammy should be a good one next week, as always with them."
[7.0] "This match had 3 holy shit moments (Spanish fly to floor, drop kick from top to time keeper's table & destroyer from top) but ending reduced score, accepting it was a storyline match. Even though there were great high spots it didn't fully jell to take it to the next level."
[5.0] "Jack Perry is a bad wrestler. He only knows spots, has no clue how to work when not in the ring with professionals. Sammy is very good, but he cannot lead a match at this stage. Hopefully Darby wins and goes on to face Max in a 1-on-1."
[3.0] "I can understand why somebody would find this exciting and enjoy the moves (that is the only thing that has stopped me from giving it a lower grade), but I'm sorry... This was garbage. I think just about every single move either of them did was a high spot. Nothing got sold whatsoever. Sammy did a brutal looking back suplex flipped in to a brainbuster and Jungle Boy kicked out and then was fine shortly afterwards and back on offence. The spot where Sammy somehow managed to pull Jungle Boy off the floor on to the apron with his boot was ridiculous, and the brawling on the apron afterwards was laughable. Am I seriously supposed to believe these are two of the 'four pillars' and the future of the company? This was amateur hour. Awful match, even if parts of it were pretty to look at."
[6.0] "The match itself was great and deserves an 8 however, the ending sucked and the ending gets a -2. What is going to happen if Sammy happens to beat Darby next week? Will MJF just expect him to lie down like a female dog? Guess we will have to wait and see."
[7.0] "Some pretty great stuff from Sammy here, that DDT was sickening. I wasn't crazy about the ending, but I get it, and it makes sense for the storyline."
[3.0] "I did not like this at all. Sammy Guevara is genuinely one of the most frustrating wrestlers to watch for me. His non-existent selling ruins every match he takes part in. Jungle Boy wasn't much better but props to him for that nasty (botched) table bump. While count out finishes don't typically bother me, this one did. This is such a half-assed, dumb, shitty way to kill time before the inevitable 4 way at the PPV. There was no need for this "tournament" at all. Dumb dumb dumb. [*1/2]"
[9.0] "Naaah people lot ratting this because of the count out cheat victory is goofy. That match was outstanding, pure fire really. And once more was clearly a good choice to make a different kind of win thorugh cheating and possibly set ups of backstabbing and batryal for heat. It was a good way to tell the story and took nothing away from the match and kept Jack looking strong for later too. The match was fantastic start to finish. Dont be silly, not every match has to have a clean victory and it wasnt a DQ"
[7.0] "Pretty good match, but inconsistent. When the pace was set pretty high they were having a really good match with impressive spots, but the action just randomly slows down at points, not even after a big spot. They gave everything they had to make this a good match but I think that count out soured me on it a little bit. It makes sense in storyline but that's truly the worst way to end a match."
[8.0] "Really good matchup between guys who go out to steal the show every night. They hit their stuff really well and had the crowd going. The countout finish works since it happens so rarely and the bump Jungle Boy took on the table looked so nasty."
[8.0] "Easily MotN for me. There was basically no downtime, all of the moves looked solid, and there were great sequences. The bumps both of them took really made this next level."
[8.0] "They went extremely hard in the main event, making up for lost time as opponents. Some sickening bumps to Jungle Boy's head, including a DDT that genuinely made me worried for his health. Finish will be divisive but it felt like an excellent continuation of the storyline, and is practically a guarantee that the 4 way will be happening at DoN."
