[5.0] "This is for Candito's Jr Heavyweight belt. This is also definitely going to be a polarising match as well given a good chunk of this is Candito playing the cowardly lion as he ducks and refuses to even enter the ring as Sabu keeps diving for his legs and running around the place. It's not bad and actually kind of funny if only to see Sabu just go full shtick-mode however it is ultimately just a lot of stalling; even if it gets the initially booing crowd to cheer for Sabu eventually getting his hands on him. Even when we get some action it's always counterbalanced with Candito speeding out of the ring afterwards. The offence we do get is mostly just....arm drags? Yeah that's a key part of this match is the two either selling for them or the arm drag being countered. There's some botched or awkward exchanges in places but it isn't too obvious. Eventually Sabu realises the match is going slow so he takes a pretty crazy Irish whip backflip to the outside over the turnbuckle: keep in mind this is a gymnasium so there's no mats to cover that fall either. They use that as a excuse for Candito to land a good senton to the outside to follow up. Sabu sells for about 15 seconds before taking over and doing his own springboard crossbody to the outside which was even smoother. He then just keeps going to the top rope or doing more goofy springboard shit for shits and giggles for a bit, which is typically as entertaining as it is. Candito pulls out a crappy plastic chair to bonk his opponent. I thought they built up the intensity well as Candito starts to slow down after some punches and Sabu keeps going for the kill with big bombs, all Candito can do is meekly counter or use the ropes to stop getting pinned. Eventually Candito gets back into things with some of his own stuff, namely a big Tiger Driver and powerbomb to counter the Frankensteiner. They build up some heat by having Sabu get beat down on the outside for a few minutes until he gets a sloppy springboard clothesline. Things get more sloppy as Sabu flubs a few moves, including a big top rope moonsault. Candito does nail a nice backward crossbody for a ref bump, and we get some nonsense as Cheetah Kid (I think? ) interferes on Sabu's behalf despite promising not to do so at the start of the match. Sabu lands the moonsault and gets the win, only for it to be a Dusty Finish as the ref DQ's him for the inference, building up to their next match down the line. This got good in places, but I felt like the match was very disjointed: they went into here basically just to get over Candito as a annoying heel and that's it, really. Sabu did his Sabu spots fairly fine but there's no real selling or psychology so it's just the two doing lots of moves despite the first half being built around Candito being shit-scared of the guy but then doing fine anyway. Could've been good, but I felt like this wasn't it."
