[8.0] "Weird, that match get some of the bad things it had on the first match and almost make it worse, and some of the great things we had in the second best and make it honestly even better. The heel bits from Savage avoidinig the match would make me bored if Hogan didn't reacted, thankfully he did, made it interesting. The wrestling is once again good, near great, and the ending were great, with Savage taking advantage with the ref bump and using the title on Hogan's face, winning by count out. Yeah, he didn't get the title with it, but he really pisses Hogan with it. I think he just wanted to get a victory over Hogan, doesn't matter if he gets the title or not and you know what? I get him. I love how it is easy to hate Savage, and Hogan hulking up is always nice, even with some moments that don't making any sense."

[8.0] "Man, every time Hogan and Savage went one on one it was something special. This one begins with Randy pretty much using Miss Elizabeth as a human shield(! ? ), with Savage constantly bailing out of the ring to throw Hogan off his game. Randy, perhaps taking a cue from the Viet Cong, decides the best way to take down Hogan is to sneak attack him and take one bite at the apple at a time (hypothetically speaking) before retreating. Naturally, this builds up to Hogan FINALLY getting his hands on Savage, only for Randy to cheat like a scumbag and nail The Hulkster with some flashy, high-risk-for-their-time axehandle smashes to the outside. Of course, it's only a matter of time until he Hulks up, but the ending here isn't what you'd expect. A really fun bout between two of the best wrestling personalities ever, which is made even better by Gorilla Monsoon CONSTANTLY having to correct and cover-up for Lord Alfred Hayes on commentary."

[8.0] "Another incredible, ultra charismatic match between them, that was awesome. Randy was the IC champion at the time, but he managed to get a title shot for Hogan's title, and Hogan's title only, so basically nothing to lose, and everything to gain. Savage is once again a chicken heel, he keeps running away from Hogan the entire time, and it's absolutely amazing, some people complain about the 'stalling' in those matches, but I respectully disagree, the stalling is great and creates anticipation, it's the charm of the match, and seeing Savage running like a coward is incredible, really good heel work, he's great. Eventually they start to connect some moves, but Randy is always dodging, and there are a lot of things here that are connected to the previous matches, but not the exact same spot, they take the same thing and keep twisting, which is very nice, and rewards the long term watchers. The ending is fantastic with Hogan taking Elizabeth out of his way once again, and getting his hands on Savage for real, everything is very heated, but Savage was able to throw him out of the ring after the ref bump, and used the referee to perform a countout on Hogan. The post-match angle with Savage leaving with Elizabeth, and getting carried back to the ring by Hogan was super fun - {****}"

If you want to see how you can be engaging with minimal contact, watch how these were during the pre-match introductions and the early portion of this match. They were electric and you know everything you need to know about their characters within seconds, even if you had never watched a second of wrestling before. Savage knows how to stall and lure the audience into wanting to see him get his ass beat. He's a true worker in every conceivable way. Hogan plays off Savage well and their chemistry is apparent. Hogan powering up after the Savage elbow was taken to the next level by the air Savage gets when Hogan presses out of the pinfall. The finish isn't great, with Savage happily taking a countout win, despite him not walking away with the big belt. I'd argue this is better than their more famous matches together."

Savage was phenomenal in this era, just explosive motion at all times."

What little action there was turned out pretty good, there just wasn't much of it. Hogan does a very decent blade job when he takes a belt shot for the count out finish."
