[7.0] "As a spotfest it's OK and the Young Bucks feel relatively subdued compared to how they work today, but Cody Hall coming in and disrupting the dynamic of the match doesn't do anyone any favors."

[8.0] "Killer match. The Bucks were heeling it up big time but ended up getting absolutely murdered with kicks and beaten. It would've been even better with a little more time and without the really bad spot where Cody Hall interfered in full view of the ref."

[0.0] "For the first several minutes, this wasn't an entirely bad match. There was little in the way of psychology, as you'd expect from a Young Bucks match of this timeframe, however, the action itself was decent. Then Cody Hall carried Kyle O'Reilly to the back, and he stayed for quite a while as the match went on like nothing had happened. What absolute garbage. It's the kind of nonsensical garbage I expect from TNA or WWE. But for it to happen in New Japan, in a championship match, is to effectively take a great big dump in the middle of the ring."

[9.0] "This was crazy awesome, and arguably the best match between these two teams. While you can say this match was mostly a spot fest, there was still some great storytelling going on with the Bucks just being as nasty as heels as they could be. Even Cody Hall taking Kyle to the back paid off with Kyle making a super hot comeback. The chemistry of both teams members against each other was shown beautifully here yet again with reDragon picking up the win and the belts, ****1/2."

[9.0] "I was close to giving this a higher rating, but I thought it went a little insane with the stereotypical US indy million finisher kickout routine towards the end. Most of the match had a great balance though, combining innovative moves with a pinch of smart storytelling. I thought Cody Hall dragging O'Reilly to the back while the referee was distracted was rather brilliant all things considered. Very fun match but might annoy those who are sensitive to the usual tropes of the Young Bucks."

[6.0] "Definitely not a bad match, but not seeing the super hype for it. Definitely not on the level of their ROH matches. Started off kinda dull, but it got better as it went on. I feel like if they had 5 more minutes it could've been a good ***+ match, but now I am gonna go with **3/4."

[8.0] "Great match. they've had better, but these are the 2 premier teams in the world right now, and they delivered a great match with a fun story."

[9.0] "These guys always seem to deliver. So I was really looking forward to their match on the show. The crowd wasn’t into the match much early, and the shenanigans of Cody Hall almost took me out of the match. But these guys overcame and delivered another great match in a series of great matches. Hall eventually grabbed O’Reilly and took him to the back, which forced Fish to fight on his own for a while, but then O’Reilly returned for the big babyface comeback; he’s clearly viewed as the star of the team, the BOTSJ should have told you that. The closing stretch saw them open the bag of tricks, hit the big moves and they did a great job of getting the crowd into the match big time. The overbooking isn’t something I am a fan of, I get why they do it, but I’d rather it not be part of my NJPW experience. But it wasn’t the groan filled ending where the faces constantly get fucked and then lose and look like shit. They overcame and walked away with the titles. Of course the big turn away from the match is that the juniors division continues to be a revolving door of the same few teams, trading the titles, so that makes the title change not feel as important as it should. This, along with the booking of the regular tag division continues to be a weak point for the company, that’s the bad news. The good news, the match was really good and I enjoyed it."
