KANON vs. Naruki Doi

[7.0] "Decent main event title match. Doi vs KANON isn't a marketable title match and it kind of was what it was. Fine sequences, some fun spots but a predictable ending as Doi retained. ***1/4"

[6.0] "If there is some kind of a story in this match, is that KANON has to change something otherwise he will be in the spot where he is forever, it just don't click for him for whatever reason. He was able to hang in there, showed unexpected amount of toughness and even kicked out of one Bakatare Sliding Kick, but he was never close to actually winning. MJ Paulie tried to interfere pretty early, but Toru Owashi took him out so KANON had to win on his own, and he just wasn't on the same level as Doi. Doi is Doi, he did everything you would want and expect him to do, which was great, but there has to be a strong follow-up for KANON after this match to make this match mean something, I don't think he can be a jag for much longer otherwise people will just see him as that."

[7.0] "Decent match with some good sequences, that built to a great closing stretch. Not the best match of either men's career, but an enjoyable breath of fresh air at the end of one of the weaker shows DDT has put on in recent months."

[6.0] "In order for fighting spirit, gushing emotions and bright sequences to work properly, a significant part of the match, be it slow, boring and all that sort of stuff, should lay the foundation. When this is not there, it turns out something like a Doi vs Kanon match. If you want to have fun, just watch the final 5 minutes. Everything that happened before was a dummy, and Paul's intervention along with the rescue of Owashi looked like a caricature, as if I was watching a fan recording of a typical house show from WWE. Once upon a time, the main events of the show with this name were masterpieces (***)."

[7.0] "Well, I didn't know how to rate this, but I decided. Most of the match was dull, I wasn't involved at all. They used Kanon's dirty work with Paul, and it was awful, only Owashi destroying DAMNATION guys was cool. And I thought it would be 5 or 4, but then the final part happened. It was really good, I finally felt Kanon's determination, and I give them extra 0.5 for his emotion which is rare. So, it's a weak 7."
