This is well wrestled as you would expect between these two and they put more effort in than the crowd probably deserve but it is nothing special once it finishes."

[5.0] "I always feel a bit of embarrassment when these supposedly legendary rivalries don't connect with me. Liger vs Sasuke has always been mostly disappointing for me. Their Super J Cup match was my favourite match of theirs, but every match they've had since then (that I've seen) has been totally average. This was no exception. The US crowd here got REALLY annoyed with their extended grappling exchanges. It's funny how Liger and Sasuke could get away with that in Japan, but the fans here were very willing to let the wrestlers know they gonna applaud or enjoy anything so tame. I obviously would never be so rude as to outright heckle wrestlers for 'bad' wrestling, but I totally understood the some of the crowd-members' issues. Liger and Sasuke would always bring their matches to a halt with their grappling when they should have been implementing more interesting offence. I would much rather they just tried to go for full-on spotfest than 'intelligent' wrestling, which is what they probably thought it came across as. The match eventually picked up as both guys brought out their power moves and acrobatics, which managed to win over the majority of dissenters in the audience, but their chemistry was still a bit off at times, and the individual technique of both guys was a bit messy some times as well. The match at least wasn't totally boring by the end, but there was a lot of wasted time and even the more interesting moments of the match still had their issues. **3/4"
