[6.0] "Wasn't expecting much from this bunch, but it was a very solid bout. Barton and Steele in particular did their job exceptionally well. Chono was kinda going in motions and Makai Club trio was carried by Yasuda's charisma and Shibata's effort. ***1/4"
[6.0] "Steele and Barton were still riding off their success as a tag team enough to get a spot with Chono and co. This would also be their last televised match together if I recall. The two work fine as a Gaijin duo with explosive stuff in places, but they also feel kinda generic and don't really stand out much. Yasuda demands Chono show up before doing his great stalling antics, getting mad at the crowd for cheering the guy and having a little tantrum because of it. Yasuda cheats with a low blow but gets outwrestled by Chono before eating one back lol. Also thought the Chono/Shibata stuff was good for what it was, including some mat work and Shibata dumping the guy onto the railing groin first, oof. Barton gets in to do his usual stuff, albeit he's also much less interesting given he's not a heel here, so lots of by the numbers stuff outside of a decent top rope back elbow and brainbuster on Yasuda. Nagai gets beat up, uses interference to take advantage as well as some double teaming. We get a good triple team by Chono and co as they do corner lariats and we get a good combo as Chono does his top rope shoulder block followed up by a Steele splash for a near fall. Despite a sneaky near fall back by Nagai with a small package, a quick Kenka Kick ends things for him and he eats the pin. Fine enough for a undercard, I don't think this had much heat though due to the flavourless Steele/Barton duo. These lads aren't bad, but they have zero personality or charisma to speak of beyond their good ring-work. Chono runs on autopilot but the Makai lads do a good job playing heels while also getting over their danger and Yasuda is a solid ringleader. Not bad, but a bit lacking in the heat department."
