It still managed to be a fantastic match that surprised me on multiple occasions. I still can't figure out if Mundo was supposed to break the stairs, or if he just got really lucky."

[8.0] "This was a great match. Watching Alberto El Patron in Lucha Underground and Alberto Del Rio in WWE is almost like watching two different wrestlers. He definitely made some changes to his style here, which made him more fun to watch and he just had better matches. Johnny Mundo was vying for the Lucha Underground title, and the winner of this match would wrestle Hernandez the following week for number 1 contendership. This was a lot of fun, with a sudden but great finish with both men kicking out of each other's finishing moves, but Alberto caught Mundo with that superkick for the win. They had another great match at Ultima Lucha, but I think this was the better match. ****"

Maybe I just don't like El Patron after all the stories I've heard about him, though. It did get pretty good towards the end."

I didn't think that I would like this match, but I was mistaken. They have good chemistry and they did some nice sequences. Mundo is at the top of his game. And Patron impressed me, as I didn't thought about him as a solid worker like he showed here. But it was fine, I would have liked if he worked a bit more on Mundo's arm before locking his submission finisher. But it was fine and I liked Mundo's selling of it. Also, the End of the World nearfall was fantastic."

Even though there wasn't a dramatic story going into this match, both guys still knew how to turn up the drama in the match itself. These guys have great chemistry together in just the way they know how to counter each other's moves which led to some cool sequences. There is a sick spot where Mundo hits his finisher, and Patron gets the rope in dramatic fashion. The finish was kind of anti climactic imo because a superkick as a finisher in 2017 is just weird, ****."
