[4.0] "Most of the runtime here is Andre being loaded onto the makeshift stretcher. Roddy has the crowd in the palm of his hands but throws some of the worst working punches and kicks I've ever seen. Ultimately a dusty finish."
[6.0] "The crowd's reaction for Andre and Snuka is WILD ! Andre start to bleed pretty early then gets stretched out of the match. This leaves Snuka in the ultimate underdog position against Schultz and Piper, the crowd goes bananas when Andre suddenly return all wrapped up. Piper and Schultz then leave the ring and get disqualified. The in ring isn't that relevant, it's really a "spot only match" to try to get the crowd as hot as possible. In this way it achieve it's goal."
[7.0] "I thought this was pretty decent action. The beginning brings the rating down for me as it was pretty slow. But it heated up once Andre went to the back though it was still good once he came back to wreck house."
[9.0] "Unusual match but ultimately a very engaging one. The first part is all Andre against the two heels and he looks great, they can't make a dent in him. A cheap attack with a hidden weapon from Piper turns the game around as Andre goes down as a very bloody mess, and the beating is so bad he has to be helped out of the arena. Snuka tries to go it alone and the match dips a bit, but then a bloody bandaged Andre comes barging back to the ring in a crazy visual. Eventually the heels flee the scene to avoid Andre's wrath, it looked like a countout to me but I guess it was some kind of DQ? Messy and odd but highly compelling, and that's what you really want from wrestling."
[9.0] "one of the best WWF matches of the 1980s! a fantastic bout bbetween four very talwnted people and one of those matches you have to watch to believe was good (****1/2)"
[8.0] "I loathe the words "Hidden Gem" but this is certainly that to me. This match isn't talked about enough but it's the best single match story I've seen in WWF to this point in their history. Andre bleeds like crazy to get all the sympathy in the world before being taken to the back and Snuka attempts to be the hero to save the day. They booked this to the point that the crowd violently changed their emotions at least 4 times."
[9.0] "This was an unique match. The first portion of this sees Andre having the time of his life toying with Schultz and Piper as all their attempts to batter Andre fail spectacularly. The charisma of the heels are on full show as they play off Andre and each other well. Andre is an excellent worker and you can tell this by how he can get so much out of something so small. He wasn't just a spectacle and knew how to work the crowd like few others could. Piper's punches look like shit (although the camera angle certainly didn't help matters), but the way he bumps off an Andre strikes more than make up the weak punches. The wholesome content comes to an abrupt end when Andre is assaulted with a foreign object and bleeds a gusher and is eventually stretchered out. IAndre returns to the match all bloodied and bandaged up and it's a hell of a sight and one of the most memorable comebacks I've seen in a while."
[8.0] "The conflict between Roddy and Andre began on an episode of Piper's Pit, and the two eventually met in a tag team match on March 25 at the legendary MSG Arena. At this stage of his career, Andre was still moving quite well, and it was he who was the center of attention throughout the first part of the match, especially shocking when he started to bleed, making his opponents look like stars. Snuka had a terrific connect with the audience, pulling off a huge pop by going out alone against two villains at once before the heroic return of the Giant. Both David, who unfortunately didn't stay in the WWF for long, and Roddy, whose road to becoming one of the company's greatest heels was just beginning, did a good job. The smart decision was to award them the win, albeit by disqualification. A very entertaining action, 8 points."
[7.0] "Really sluggish match to start off, with Piper being too afraid to get near Andre The Giant. As the match picked up, there was a couple of goofy spots involving Schultz and Piper not being able to knock over Andre. Eventually, Piper hit Andre with brass knuckles, causing Andre to be busted wide open, which included a lot of blood. Once Snuka was by himself, the match speed picked up well. Finally, Andre came back bandaged which got a huge pop from the crowd. While this match wasn't the best, I was sports entertained. 7/10"
[8.0] "This was a great match as Andre gets stretchered out towards the beginning and bleeds. Then, later on, he returns with a vengeance to help Snuka. The Garden was massively into the big man and Piper got a lot of heat from busting open Andre."
