Dean Ambrose vs. John Cena

[7.0] "This is the first match of Cena's acclaimed run with the US title in 2015. The crowd are massively behind Dean here so in the early stages, Cena kinda plays it heel. After the break, the match picks up with Dean making a fiery comeback until Cena catches him with an AA for a nearfall. After that, the drama increases massively, both guys go counter for counter with the crowd going crazy anytime Dean is able to come out on top. We get two very close submission spots with Cena countering a powerbomb into an STF before Dean counters an AA into his own STF later on, before a great finishing sequence which sees both guys trade punches before Dean attempts a crossbody which gets countered into an AA by Cena for the win. There were a few awkward moments here, and some of the counters felt a bit forced, but on the whole this was a very good TV match. ***1/2"

[7.0] "This was the first 2015 John Cena US Title Open Challenges, and a very good and important match to solidify the concept, the crowd started the whole thing booing Cena and the match ended with a standing ovation for both men, really good television match. Dean botched kinda badly a move at the ending, but the way he did the STF and the crowd went crazy completely overshadowed that, this was actually very good, a finisher kickout for each side, almost everything was well-wrestled and connected, great chemistry - {***1/4}"

[7.0] "This was a pretty good way to start the legendary US Title reign. There was never a doubt that Cena would win but there was a bit of hope for Dean."

[7.0] "A solid way to start off Cena's historic US Title run. Even though the outcome wasn't in doubt, there was always a small chance that we would have an upset as Ambrose was already a star and he almost scored a win here"

[8.0] "A match that definitely exceeded my expectations (initially not too high) and which inaugurated what is perhaps the best period of the United States title, namely John Cena's Open Challenges. Dean Ambrose gave his all and John Cena began to deny his detractors"

[8.0] "Great match between Cena and Ambrose here which would have totally had its place in a PPV so much it was qualitative and worthy of a title match, we see directly the difference when the awful Rusev is not involved anymore around the United States Championship for my biggest happiness. Cena started his legendary reign the night after he won the title by starting to do open challenges, that said a lot about his intentions to give value to a title that was in need of it since he hadn't had a great reign for a long time. My surprise was great when I saw that it was Ambrose his first challenger because it was like a dream match for me, it may have happened before I don't know but in any case this one was up to my expectations and Ambrose was super popular with the crowd. Very fun action, good chemistry between the two protagonists but a bad commentary and that's my only complaint, Jerry Lawler not having any reaction during the finishers & nearfalls while the crowd losed their minds cruelly frustrated me. But the match itself was rich in quality and that's the principal, loved that."

[7.0] "Ein gutes Match für eine Raw Ausgabe. War an manchen stellen ein bisschen langsam aber insgesamt hat man hier ein gutes Match bekommen, mit glaubwürdigen Near-Falls und ein paar guten kontern *** 1/4."

[10.0] "This match was great although ambrose botched a move but it was really good. I really wanted Ambrose to win because he has main event materials and he is more talented than John Cena"

[7.0] "Als Dean Ambrose' Musik ertönte dachte ich nur: Oh je, das wird ein mieses Match. Mit einer fantastisch aufgelegten Crowd, einem Cena mit Kämpferherz und einem Dean Ambrose, der sich einfach nicht unterkrigen lassen will, ist hier jedoch ein richtig gutes TV Match bei rumgekommen. Keine Ahnung, warum man jetzt hier Ambrose verfüttert hat; in Anbetracht des doch tollen Matches bleibt diese Frage einfach mal unbeantwortet."

[7.0] "Sehr feines Match hier für eine Weekly Show. Der STF von Ambrose ist schon ein kleiner Markout hier gewesen, da dachte man nur „WTF? “. Und die Kickouts aus dem AA und den Dirty Deeds waren auch stark. Insgesamt auf eine andere Art als der Opener ebenfals sehr stark gemacht, 7 Punkte."

[6.0] "Typisches Cena-Titelmatch in der RAW-Version. Nett gemacht, Crowd wie gewohnt stark. Ambrose und Cena haben eine gute Chemie, aber auch nichts Herausragendes. Darf man sich gerne ansehen, man verpasst aber auch nichts. Für ein TV Match jedoch mehr als man erwarten kann. *** darf man schon mal geben."

[6.0] "It was okay. Bit sloppy. Liked how much Cena gave Ambrose who looked strong. Ultimately not a lot here and I think it's been a bit overrated."

[7.0] "Ungefähr so gut wie das US Titel Match bei Wrestlemania. Es war überraschend das Ambrose zum Match antritt, man hat sich zwar denken können das Cena verteidigt aber trotzdem wurde es während des Matches ziemlich spannend."

[9.0] "Cena und Ambrose waren zusammen richtig großartig. Die beiden haben sich eine Menge abverlangt und Dean war mit der geklauten Submission und eigenem Finish sehr nah dran. Der Fight hat auch richtig gute Intensität und Spannung gehabt. :)"

[7.0] "Gutes WWE U. S. Championship Match zweitbestes Match bei dieser WWE Monday Night RAW Ausgabe. Dean hat sich wieder mal ordentlich geschlagen und John war wie man ihn kennt. Da geht sicher noch mehr vielleicht auch dann bei WWE Extreme Rules 2015 (***1/4) für das Match."

[8.0] "Very good free television match. It was not perfect of course, there was a botch when Ambrose tried to Sunset Bomb Cena but they recovered well and although I was briefly taken out of the match by a blatant spot call from Cena it was in fact very entertaining. I could also have done without both guys kicking out of each other's finisher which in my opinion is all to commonplace in WWE right now. Other than that though it was very good and actually one of Ambrose's best matches since his feud with Rollins ended. Would not mind seeing these two doing battle in a big PPV match one day."

[4.0] "Eh too be honest I didn't really get the sense that they have any kind of chemistry. The botches, Cena's loud spot-calling and the continued burial of Ambrose make this a merely ok match."

[7.0] "Fand ich überraschenderweise gleichwertig zu Ziggler vs. Bryan. Ambrose durfte gut mithalten und sogar aus einem AA auskicken (was Rusev Tag zuvor nicht durfte)."

[7.0] "Ich persönlich hatte ja mit einem NXT Star (itami/Balor) als Cena gegner gerechnet, da mir Rusev zu offensichtlich war wenn er schon eine Open Challange ausspricht. Dean Ambrose war natürlich auch absolut geil und die Crowd hat ihn ja auch gefeiert. Das Match ansich fand ich persönlich echt stark. Zum Ende hin ein paar zu viele Finisher ansätze aber es war trotzdem ganz gut."

[5.0] "Jeder rechnet mit Rusev und stattdessen bekommt Cena Dean Ambrose, was die Sache in der Interaktion mit dem Publikum für ihn nicht einfacher macht - zu sehr war die Crowd bereits auf Anti-Cena getrimmt. Daraus ergibt sich ein von der Crowd gut antizipiertes Match, bei welchem ein Titelwechsel zwar zu keiner Zeit zur Debatte steht, Ambrose aber mit den Chants im Rücken eine solide TV-Partie mit Cena auf die Beine stellt. Wenig spektakulär, doch akzeptabel unterhaltsam - mehr aber auch nicht."
