624.04.2024BH629.0As it was the perfect matchup in terms of size, the wrestling approach is way different, and that made all the greatness of this tag team bout. Big Bad Brody and Dunkzilla bouncing each other around (and also Fletcher and Malakai) was enjoying, while Black and Fletcher stiffed each other hard and also put on some technical wizardry as well. Each matchup worked really well, in fact. Striking and technique against the fury indie extravaganza. It was messed up, but that chaotic atmosphere suited them. Pace was intense, nonetheless. That rocked hard. And the finish was completely sick, visually or for the moves put on.

1113.10.2023TSwifty6.0Aussie Open might be the strangest tag team in the world right now. Many journalists and the IWC will claim they're one of the best in the business, but sometimes they're out here having cutesy epics just like everyone else. They try to have an epic every time, and more often than not it'll feel overkill and overrated. This is definitely one of those matches but it was still good. Aussie Open have good chemistry as a team and a fun moveset so even with the cutesy stuff and unearned epic structure they're enjoyable to watch. I just wished they played into their strengths as an intelligent power/speed-hybrid heel team and structured their shit logically all the time. Beggars can't be choosers, so onto this match. Fletcher and Black expectedly had some nice exchanges as they're the leaner and quicker members of the two teams. Brody and Davis were solid bruisers too. Good chemistry and some great strikes and kicks in there but man I wish it wasn't within a generic indie-epic structure. ***1/4

1406.05.2023Garmonbozia6.0Somewhat good match. Both teams were solid and the action was alright. It wasn't that memorable though.

2112.03.2023KingsCrossing7.0This was another match on this card that was entertaining, but flawed. Black has been really prone to corniness in his post-WWE career, and there was a bit of that here which I really wasn't a fan of. I also really disliked the structure of the match. It felt very 'indy', and there was an extremely prolonged period (probably the entire second half of the match) where everybody was in the ring at the same time trading moves without any tags or rules or anything. I generally just accept this as part of the style when it comes to PWG, but something about it just felt especially tired here. What worked for me, though, were when the Kings of the Black Throne just got to be hard hitting bruisers. I really enjoy their work when they drop the amateur theatre act and focus on doling out violence. Brody King in particular was the highlight for me, and he has really grown since the days where he was more preoccupied with incorporating lucha spots in to his matches than just beating people up.

2412.02.2023ArshamB8.0This one looked like it hurt everyone involved, Kings of the Black Throne are awesome as a unit and I hope to see more of them everywhere locking it up with different combos. It is unfortunate that we don't see bruiser/Techniker combos more often as they are probably my favourite combo in a Tag Team, so of course a Tag match of two of that same combo of wrestlers was going to be a banger. I did still think it missed something more that would have pushed it to that next level.
2530.01.2023Mizzle Assault Ant6.0I thought this was a solid match but no more. Brody King looked by far the best of the bunch, like he was out to really wallop some folks instead of some of the kind of cutesy stuff the others were doing. Aussie Open continues to feel overrated to me.

2809.01.2023BAILE39.0The Kings Of The Black Throne defend their PWG Tag team championship in an absolute clinic against Aussie Open, who are one of the best tag teams in the world. We see frequent utilises of the weight mismatches, as most of the match is divided into Malakai VS Fletcher and Brody VS Davis.

3227.12.2022arrancar7.0Aussie Open matches are always a bit difficult to get into as the supposed amazing matches they're often made out to be, since they really love going for forced 'epics', but at the same time their work can still be really exciting, so it's a bit of a toss-up as to exactly where their match will fall on the 'exciting vs overkill' chart. I definitely still enjoyed their performance here and the match itself, though. King and Davis were the big bruisers on their respective teams, throwing out lots of heavy strikes and beastly power moves, while Fletcher and Black were the leaner and therefore faster, more agile, and 'sharper' with their strikes. There was very smooth chemistry with all the run-on exchanges as both teams constantly fought 2v2, with each man having strong technique and power behind each attack. Aussie Open's control work was good, with their tag offence always being really energetic and aggressive, and I enjoyed how they isolated Black on their half of the ring. Black showed his standard great striking as he fought back to even ground, and then King was an enjoyable bulldozer once Black finally tagged out. I didn't like the cheesy mirrored spots/exchanges they constantly went for once both teams were going 50/50, since they always felt far too contrived, but at least each guy usually had good enough individual technique to make most of their more intense and faster-paced exchanges in that final 1/3rd quite exciting. The final few minutes were especially fun as each guy tried to go all-out to help their team get the win, with Black looking especially impressive with all his wonderful strikes. This probably would have been better without the generic 'mega indy' structure they went for, but I have to say that they at least worked that structure pretty well. ***1/4

4313.12.2022boymeetsworld8.0Hard-hitting matches like this one for whatever reason became a rarity, which most likely will make this one be memorable for a while. Who knows what kind of a reputation House of Black would have right now if this match could be seen when it happened, but if they will wrestle more like this on AEW TV, they will win me over very quickly.

4512.12.2022Arashvares9.0Aussie Open as a tag team is amazing and I can never stop enjoying them, this match was great, on the other hand I enjoyed Malakai too I wish we would see more of him in AEW.
4612.12.2022respect-wres9.0Aussie Open are one of the best teams around today. Black and King are out of this world in pwg. As the Legit Boss commented, this the THE match that we had been waiting for King and Black to put on during their reign. Brutal, hard-hitting and suspenseful. All four looked impressive and came out of this as winners.
4712.12.2022TheLegitBoss9.0Brilliant tag team match between Aussie Open and the Kings Of The Black Throne here which is an absolute must-see for any good wrestling fan who loves tag team wrestling and so naturally love these two incredible teams very much, Brody & Malakai obviously have phenomenal chemistry together but whether it was from the start of their run in PWG or in their few tag team matches in AEW I was always waiting for THE match that was going to be the confirmation of all of that and we finally got it here. I obviously had expectations for this as these are wrestlers I love and are always great at what they do, so I set the bar high and I can say I was not disappointed and there's no better feeling than when a dream match like this one delivers. It was perfectly structured and paced, the intensity was there and the sequences we saw were so fluid. Truly a perfect execution and it looked like the challengers would win, check it out.
4811.12.2022Wrestling Forever 9.0Ein fantastisches das Co Main Event die Kings Of the Black Throne nehmen die PWG World Tag Team Titel mit ins Jahr 2023 (****).
4911.12.2022No One9.0This was a hard-hitting war. This was Aussie Open dominating Malakai, and then once he made the tag to Brody, it became more of a new school type of tag match where there was no regard for the rule that the illegal man from either team cannot be in the ring for longer than 10 seconds. Therefore it was another "Lucha Rules" type of tag match. It was pretty crazy to see Mark Davis completely get his ass kicked by Brody king over & over whenever the 2 big men went at it. Brody hangman choking Kyle Fletcher on the ring apron was terrifying, while Malakai submitted Mark Davis inside the ring to win and retain the PWG Tag Team Titles.
