[7.0] "What a blast of a match. Everyone gets a chance to shine as a solo, and both teams get to shine as a team. Some awesome counters and reversals, some unique tag offense, and a red hot crowd make this one impossible not to love. If you gave these four another chance to go I have no doubt they'd make magic again. 3.75 Stars."

[9.0] "Catching up on the Tag League tour in preparation for the finals tomorrow. For a team so young, Akira and TJP move around, string together offence like they've been at it for years. TJP has been an incredible mentor for the up and coming Italian star. He's given him an attitude that makes him so exciting and unpredictable. This was a tremendous main event to kick off SJTL. Ever since I first saw Lio Rush compete in NXT, I knew he was good. But my god, he's utterly phenomenal now. So quick and creative with his striking sequences, a breathless display of real tag team wrestling in the Jr. Division. The final stretch blew me away. Loved the mark of acknowledgement between the two teams post match, while not sugar-coating it too much. They are competitors, after all. YOH and Lio experimented with tag offence to great success here, I'm looking forward to checking out their other matches in this tourney. Catch 2/2 have been a revelation, a much needed jolt of life that the Jr. Tag Division needed this year."

Champions win and do it with prestige and honor. I highly respect this approach to business. Lio Rush & YOH worked well together and found something to surprise. There is a place to find the strengths of skill and execution."

This is the kind of Main Event you'd expect from a Super Jr Tag League, especially in Korakuen Hall, so it's fast-paced, it works very well with the crowd (and they're are HOT! ) and the final sprint is a thing of beauty. This match is a great example to show that crowds can make a match look better. Freaking awesome. ****1/4"

[10.0] "Yea, I freaking LOVED this tag match with YOH/Lio Rush vs Francesco Akira/TJP here. It was an excellent match that's low-key one of my favorite tag contests of the year. Everybody involved got to look good here. TJP continues to be extremely underrated since he's an excellent wrestler, and it was heartwarming to see the guy continue to be really over with NJPW crowds. This was arguably Francesco Akira's best performance in the ring so far, and he's quickly growing on me too. I think this was Lio Rush's 1st match in front of a vocal NJPW crowd in mainland Japan (at least in a long time), and he quickly got the crowd behind him with his exciting + innovative offense. YOH continues to confirm my belief that he's the better worker out of the 2 men in Roppongi 3K since he was part of another awesome banger. The NJPW crowd was also ELECTRIC by the end of this main event. I'm SO glad that they were able to cheer this morning. This match was one of the numerous examples where crowds can elevate a match big time. TJP and Francesco Akira had to survive BIG time for the finish in order to earn their hard-fought victory here. Overall, I gave this main event a 9.5/10, but I'm leaning more toward a 10 here since it was that awesome."

[9.0] "Outstanding match here. I was very impressed by the chemistry between Lio Rush & YOH, although they need to work on the Steamroll move that they tried, LOL. Catch 22 delivered again here as they quickly have become a top Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team, which is also impressive. I really would like to see Lio & YOH win the whole tournament and then run this match back again at Wrestle Kingdom, as these 4 really have something special with each other."

[9.0] "Amazing tag team match between Rush & YOH and TJP & Akira right here which is for me hands down the best tag team match of the year in NJPW just behind FTR vs Aussie Open (this match being a league above the rest let's be honest) and which surpassed all my expectations which were already huge, I was expecting a good match but never thought they would get such an ideal context in the first place. Because where they could have been placed in the middle of the card with only ten minutes, here they main evented the show with twenty minutes at their disposal and had time to build an absolutely fantastic match. It was perfectly structured and paced, the action really never stopped and I wanted it to never end anyway, when it did end I wanted another twenty minutes at the same pace. These guys have an unreal cardio but more importantly an extraordinary talent, the number of great sequences I saw in this contest with completely flawless execution is mind blowing. What an insane surprise, watch this guys."

Francesco has improved so much and his character his really coming along. Catch 22 are one of the best Jr tag teams today. Great closing stretch and near falls throughout."
