[6.0] "A decent match here, but nothing too spectacular. The Prophecy had refused to defend any of their titles on this show, hence why this is non title, while Jay had previously stated after his loss to Mark that he would never lose in ROH again. Leads to the crowd getting really behind Jay and popping huge when he wins with the Jay Driller, which sets up a title match between Jay and Xavier on the next show. A technically sound match, but nothing special overall. ***1/4"

Xavier is a guy to me that feels like more of a good hand than World Champion but he was a decent worker. The story is that the Prophecy held this show hostage a bit and refused to defend any titles."

[6.0] "The story here is that the Prophecy are refusing to defend their titles on ROH's big 'Glory By Honor' event. The match is solid, but doesn't ever really jump out as anything special. As I noted in my review of his title win, I think it was too early in ROH's lifespan to run an 'undeserving champion' angle, and it's clear in this match that the crowd aren't really buying in to it. It does at least make for an interesting dynamic here as Jay has previously vowed to never lose in ROH again, so that kept me guessing as to who might pull out the victory in a non-title match with a brand new champion."

[7.0] "It was a decent match. At the start they did some grappling and chain wrestling. Then Xavier got some heat with the crowd acting as a cocky heel. Jay Briscoe is really good as an underdog, with great moves The best part is the ending, because the crowd are invested on it, Xavier goes for a powerbomb and Jay inverts it into a Jay Driller to get the win. Good match, even if it had some botches."
