[10.0] "This, imo, was the epitome of what World Class Championship Wrestling was...The Von Erichs and The Fabulous Freebirds beating the stuffing out of each other with a crowd going crazy for it. Whenever I remember WCCW, this is the match that comes to mind."

[10.0] "And back to Dallas! Well Fort Worth technically, but I don't think those 12, 000 screaming fans were thinking about which city they were in. This is likely one of the biggest battles between the greatest possible team of von Erichs and the Freebirds in their lengthy feuds, a major show with six man titles on the line no less. Everything I've said about previous matches rings here as well, all six guys seem greater than the sum of their parts when you put them together in a scenario like this. Gordy is an awesome monster who knows how to play heel, Roberts is doing a gimmick where he lost his hair and is trying to hide it, Hayes is at his best and not annoying at all, which is a nice change from most of his career. And the von Erichs! God, this was them at their best. All three looked so great, in this moment in time they really do look like shining stars and you can see why the Texas fans loved them more than any others. An ideal climax where everyone played their role just about as well as you could expect, and the von Erichs gain a decisive victory to triumph in this part of the legendary feud."

[9.0] "What a fantastic match this is, maybe the most heated and anticipated duel between these two amazing teams, everything that happened here is incredible, the Von Erichs were the hometown ultra loved babyfaces, with all the girls screaming for them, and the Freebirds were the intruders, the heels, and they did a great job in this role as always. This just can't go wrong, that's why this feud is so legendary, it's a battle of Texas vs Georgia, people know who to root, and are willing to go to war for them, this crowd is amazing, this is pro-wrestling at its finest spiritual level, formidable experience, energetic as hell. Michael Hayes was really great here, there was a work on Roberts headgear, and Terry Gordy was fantastic as usual, but Hayes was the MVP, and on the Von Erichs side, the three of them were great, but it's gotta be Kerry, his punches and energy here were out of this world, he made the crowd scream like they never screamed in their entire lives, extremely passionate, but Kevin also had outstanding comebacks that set the place on fire. This match was a total warfare, they demolished each other, that's the tag team wrestling that everyone loves to watch, the bear hug thing that they did with Kerry on the third fall was sensational, and in the end, the Von Erichs won the titles, to of course, the delight of the loud crowd - {****1/4}"

[8.0] "For the last 7 and a half months the entire state of Texas had been waiting for this match and it definitely delivered. Everyone played their role perfectly here. The Von Erichs were the Von Erichs but the Freebirds from Hayes heelish playing to the crowd, Roberts work with his headgear and Gordy's work as the big muscle of the group, the Freebirds really impressed here. The rivalry only gets more wild from here and I can't wait."

Props where it is due, Michael Hayes makes this match, he is all over the place and just the perfect dickhead heel. Everyone else plugs in well but he is the guy that makes this good. I think it peaked on the second fall and the third fall caused this to drop from a potential all timer to merely bloody good."

[9.0] "With the release of The Iron Claw in theaters, I took the time to watch this wild six-man fight. The Freebirds were at the top of their heel game, and you just had to side with the lovely Von Erichs. They are certainly the lovable babyfaces, but they don't let anyone walk all over them... especially The Freebirds. The hatred between them, the (bad) quality of the recording and the electric crowd gave such a crazy atmosphere. The Freebirds and The Von Erichs beat the living shit out of each other, as everybody were out of control. Each falls of the best of the three didn't last that long, as the hatred was too much (but each finish was smart). Hayes was on fire, Gordy crushed everyone who was in his path, Roberts took the beating for the two others, while Kerry was surely the most angriest. He stole the show. Kevin and David were also pretty hotted up. Good storytelling and just great brawling with crazy fans shouting at the top of his lungs. David Von Erich was surely the favorite Von Erich. Big charismatic guy, he was surely the best of his brothers. That guy had a special aura. That kind of six-man in WCCW is completely representative of the wilderness of wrestling in the 80's, and also of the Texan way of wrestling. I dare to hope that concrete has good taste."

[8.0] "One of the best 6 men tags of the 80s, Hayes, Gordy and the Von Erichs are great in this one. As usual for WCCW, the crowd is on fire. The in ring storytelling is great and still holds up to this day. An strong 4 - 4 1/4 star match."
